  • Part 3: • Dallas Austin on Doing...
Part 1: • Dallas Austin on Growi...
    ----------
Dallas Austin spoke to VladTV about starting to feel like he had found a way out of poverty with his music and being upset when his brother broke a $1,200 keyboard that he had bought for Dallas. He explained that he was starting to run away to Atlanta to live with his aunt and pursue music, but Dallas says his mom sold her restaurant so the whole family could move together.
To hear more, including seeing the KKK when they moved to Highland Place, Georgia, hit the above clip.
Dallas Austin sat down with VladTV to talk about heading to Atlanta and being in local studios which led him to getting signed and producing a song for Doug E. Fresh and it going to number 2 on the charts. He said that he was still going to the skating rink, and that he heard his song playing he and his friends were skating. He said that he was 16 at the time.
He also noted that he did not want to go to school anymore because he felt he was going to be a big producer at an early age, and actually left school. From there, he noted how being in the studio so much after that, which led him to coming across Another Bad Creation.

Can't speak on what was in Atlanta if you weren't there in the time. Gets old to hear people who moved to Atlanta for music in highschool speaking on on how there was no scene and it was just a country town. Half the hoods in Cali used to be the Suburbs just like every other city.💯

Atlanta always had a music scene. From SOS Band to Shy D and Kilo. I was in TN and didn't think much of them as a music scene until Bobby Brown , LA and Babyface, and Keith Sweatt moved there. These were well established artist and they chose ATL over LA and NYC. Then I knew something was up in Atlanta.

I changed my name to Aesha in Elementary school because of that song. For about two years I would sign all of my school work with Aesha. My parents had to attend meetings with teachers, and all. But because I was a good student, outgoing with lots of friends, they let it slide. Until one day my mother was like "No more, I gave you a name and Aesha ain't it." SMH LOL 😁

Atlanta was equivalent to the (1850) California Gold Rush of the 90's. Everyone got word there was musical talent being discovered and dropped everything and moved or traveled to Atlanta. Puff discovered 112 in Atlanta right? Did Erick Sermon move to Atlanta around the same time during the Atlanta movement? Also Babyface and LA Reid are not from Atlanta right?
