Hey Andrea, I hope your finger heals quickly! That mist have hurt! Nice to see the Super Nova on the snowflakes and on the plate. Haven't bought it yet because I wasn't sure about its success rate. Thanks for the share, as usual!
Thanks Audrey. It was a careless mistake, lesson learned....slow down! It is splinted because broke it and they stitched it up. Yup. Owch! Yes, I'm pretty happy with Supernova.
Ouch I hope you heal quickly. Gorgeous kiln opening. I like that darker clay pieces. I just got super nova but haven't fired it yet. I also got Dark star so I'm really curious about both of these glazes.
How cute is that finger! Hahaha. I would so love to know how you made the big bowl. My gosh I so love your glaze combos! I feel so bad about your glaze dripping so badly! May I suggest that you turn the kiln on high for a little bit and watch your elements and see how each set of elements heat up. It seems like the bottom may not be connected? If you can use an ome reader on each element you can see if they are reading the same and that would help you to see what’s wrong. Also one more little suggestion if I may, put kiln wash on your tortillas/cookies. It’s awesome you’re making them so thin since if you have to grind them off it doesn’t take much effort on you or your grinding pad.
@@micheledickey4066 I did put kiln wash over my tortillas in my next load, Good idea, very thing helps. I forgot show the template for the bowl. Yes, kind of octogonish. I bought one from Du La Designs. They make the templates from 3D printers.
Hello Heida, I can only tell you what I do. I hr peep holes open, 1 hr closed, 1 hr at 3/4 ish, 1 hr at 7.. Turn to high. At cone 6, about 3 31/2 hrs before it clicks off. So that's 8 hrs I think. Cool for 12hrs before opening peep holes. Another 12 before you open the lid. Hope that helps.
I also have switches I flick. But I’m going to try closing peep holes. My kiln says not too, and leave the top one open the whole firing but I don’t see what it’ll hurt if I close it maybe after 4 hrs or 2 hrs when I shut the lid. I’m supposed to leave it open and all peep wholes for two hrs then shut down everything except top peep hole. Gonna give it a try can’t be any worse than what it’s doing now. Worse case I start all over making new pieces if the wreck
@@heididerksen8227 Hi Heidi, I wouldn't keep the top peep hole open for more than the first hour. Closing will keep an even increased heat after the next few hrs.
Beautiful pottery. I have always wondered why they dont make bright colorful colors for glaze

Ouch beautiful pieces
Thank you!
Time for a new kiln? I haven’t used a kiln sitter in over 25 years.

I will show you on my next clip about the form I used for the hand built bowls.
Correct, the bottom coil was not connected. It has been corrected.
@@lifeinsouthsimcoecounty Oh yay!! I’m so glad it was an easy fix!!!
@@andreanolan6004 Awesome. Thank you so much. It looked like your bowl was square ish. I thought maybe it was cut and then shaped.

Hello I’m wondering if anyone can tell me how long a normal glaze fire should go at cone6 in a manual kiln.
