Don’t do it! every mk2 rs owner i have met who sold it (and bought a mk3 instead) have all said they regretted it and that the mk2 is a much more fun car to drive than the mk3!! we still have ours which is the same spec as yours i believe (the green paint is just insane in the sun right?) i don’t think we will ever sell it
The mark 3 RS Becky is all wheel drive, very clever system that makes it incredible to drive on track and road. I don't have the driving talent that you have but the RS makes it so easy to drive fast. The electronics are so forgiving at speed. Makes me look like i have more talent than i have. I have just sold an e92 m3, i could never drive that as quick as i can the RS
The smiles on your face say it all tbh. I've been into performance Fords all my life and i have a mk2 facelift ST, its the most fun for the money thats also reliable and usable. The 5 pot sounds like a mini V10 to me and I've even had compliments from Gallardo/R8 owners saying how good the engine sound.
Scorpion Exhaust is actually a UK based exhaust manufacturer. I had the pleasure of meeting them and visiting their factory and that was a great experience. Everything done by hand and etc. You should reach out to them, I'm sure they'd show you around.
great video Queen B, they are brilliant cars and you are right , keep a good firm grip on that steering wheel , the 5 pot turbo in that car is a Volvo engine single turbo , if memory serves me right it is a variable geometry turbo, and I've seen a few variations of those 5 pots making over 500 bhp which is just insane with 6 speed manuals , that must have some fancy race clutch in them,👍
Ford, quite simply one of the best everyday/family car makers ever, if not, the best. Doesn't matter which model you get, just get a Ford, even the standard Mk2 Focus is good, plus the styling of Mk 2's are just on point.
You've got to love the headlight cover design too. I have the standard Zetec, which I'd probably like to tune up some time, under the bonnet, but it sounds pretty good as it is. Yes, love, those vents on the bonnet, do absolutely nothing, that's why they're there. What are vents usually for???, they're to do with breathing ;) lol. Nice bucket style seats, as it's an RS (Rally Sport). The interior plastic helps with weight reduction too, for power - weight ratio given better speed performance. Talking to yourself to the camera, we know, bless you. One last thing, bf or not, you're super hot ;). P.s, the COVID-19 is a joke, believe me.
Hilarious video with being like an old granny and cringing with the pops and bangs 😂 really shocked with the news of no new RS models! Nearly bought a modified ST 300bhp a few years ago but the torque steer was insane and in the wet you were there just to hold on no matter the direction. Great video Becky and have a great weekend!
Can’t go wrong with the Focus RS MK2 I’ve owned probably 80 % of fast fords. I currently own the Focus Rs MK2 for the 2 years and I love it it’s running 420bhp it’s a beast. I also owned a MK3 RS for a short while i found it disappointing somewhat dull sounds crap.MK2 for me everyday
It's just a back to basics driving with no fuss and all the fun can you imagine if it had been four wheel drive. I have never owned a car more than a year am coming up to 6 years with my MK2 rs.
Good review. My mate got one of these when they were about 2 years old. They are a handful. Think he paid £18k at the time, the values have held rock solid since I think because the last of the 5 pots. The engine sounds awesome though I think this guy has ruined it a bit mapping in pops and bangs or something. Mates just had a cold air induction kit and standard exhaust which gave you the exciting engine noises without crazy exhaust noises. Will be good to see what you think of the mk 3, I haven’t driven one either.
My dad has a mk2 rs in the top spec model with the lamborghini green paint, it came with that same scorpion exhaust & personally that exhaust is extremely droney, it gave us headaches after long journeys so we swapped it for a milltek and it sounds mint without the drone 👏 but this car is such a fun car i don’t know if we’ll ever sell it, by the way that car on the body is completely stock, this car doesn’t really need modifying if you ask me, plus the top spec model that my dad has comes with a touchscreen infotainment system, which i don’t think needs upgrading since it does a really good job for an 11 year old car (just since the one you reviewed didn’t have that extra wanted you to know they do have them)
I took an RS out a test drive then left the dealership a bit disappointed and on the way home I drove past a white ST3 facelift 2010 3 door for sale at another dealership...I took it a test run and bought it because it was only a car length behind what the RS could do and it was easier to drive over B roads and didnt look like a remote control car. Best car I’ve owned would prefer it over my current 2014 S3 dsg. Really miss the engine noise and how it drove over bumps and potholes it was a drivers car. Shame they are getting old now.
Mk3 will feel a bit soft after the Mk2, I think the Mk2 Focus was the last true Ford Rallye Sport car, it had a different body, the arches, whereas the Mk3's are the same with the RS being tweaked.
If anything the mk3 feels stiffer. More refined but also more sporty. The mk2 is all about the engine and arches, the mk3 is all about how it drives and kicking the back end out coming out of a corner. This mk2 sounds fantastic in throttle but the pop and bang map is far too much on the overrun.
That comment Rory from Top Gear made was about the Mk3 RS... The AWD system makes it super fun and you can get some nice oversteer going on... If you drive it you will understand what he means.
Stuart Harper your probally right my old 2004 srt-4 neon used to do that all the time just with a stock exhaust. Those cars from factory just had cats no muffler or nothing
Great fun video, great fun car,it looks and sounds brilliant, I love your reaction to it, that's what it's all about, putting a massive smile on your face, keep up the great work!
Track Time Videos Better in what way? Better in looks? Not for me. Better in sound? Not for me. Quicker from standstill and on a track day? Yep, but with the 4 wheel drivetrain it should be. There’s more to a car than all out absolute performance. I like the Evo, and considered one.. but I’m still more than happy with my Mk2
@@woooster17 better looking yes (subjective), sharper steering, better judged suspension, quicker gearbox, much quicker in all weather. It feels more taught but is much more Japanese in build quality where the Focus feels chunky and solid. Depends what you want in a car but the Evo is more fun and direct whereas the RS would make a more cosseting daily.
@@woooster17 better in that for me it looks better yes (subjective) has a much better interior and infotainment system, handles much better, understeers much less, can power oversteer on demand, has much sharper steering, gives more feedback through the pedals, better gearbox and the brakes, is faster on road or track, is more practical. Your content is awesome. :P I've forever dreamt of owning one of these. forever watching reviews on them and cant seem to bite the bullet of paying £20k for a ford. my favourite so far is the RPM Performance Mk2 RS which Jamie FYD reviewed.

The 5-pot with this exhaust. OMG. For reasons I don't understand I very much like the 5 and 10 cyl engine sounds. The bangs and pops are too much though... probably option in the tune one could remove.
Haha yaaas love this 😁😂😂😂. Now you see what it's about lol. My Focus ST3 is 400bhp but has BC ER coilovers and poly bushed etc strut braces so yeah it handles 👌🏻. Great fun. This RS might have a horrible crackle in the stage 1 map not cool the normal tune off these is enough.
