The one thing that disappoints me about the story of Ichigo’s relationship with Zangetsu is that, even after learning the true nature of his powers, we never get to see Ichigo have an honest conversation with White where he finally acknowledges and accepts him
It always bothered me how ichigo never thought about doing that throughout the whole series

@@Vonmoonlight I agree 100%. People forget that a Shinigami's Zanpaktou are literal manifestations of their souls. As in another part of themselves. The core of their powers is their own souls and syncing with them.
It's not touched on much, but the Bankai process seems to be accepting that your Zanpaktou is YOU!
@@FinrodFelagundTheFair well, if this was true, then ichigo wouldn't get bankai, because he only accepted old zangetsu (using borrowed shinigami powers) to teach ichigo his bankai, to get bankai is another history, i don't know how, but it probably isn't the way you said, the process you said is of a true bankai in it's whole power, it was more like combining the pieces until the whole puzzle was completed, but to get bankai you need to communicate with your inner self and probably learn the true meaning and nature of yourself, that's why ichigo has so many forms, he slowly progress on accepting or needing more power, it is like all his forms after bankai are just a piece of bankai first attained but by adding more of his true whole bankai pieces into it.

It's just unsettling to know just how little of a bond, the most powerful protagonist in the entire anime, has with his zanpaktou. Being seen as someone who only seeks/ends up in his inner world only when he needs help.
Hollowfied Tensa Zangetsu basically has the young appearance of Juha Bach combined with the look White would have had he become an Arrancar.
On a technicality, this is the real Tensa Zangetsu. However, it’s more like a raw state of Tensa Zangetsu as in the Bankai that Ichigo initially possessed was only a representation of Ichigo’s suppressed Soul reaper/hollow powers. In short, this Zangetsu is all of Ichigo’s power at the time shoehorned into the incomplete Bankai. At this point, Ichigo’s powers had no base to be fully expressed due to the lack of an Asauchi, and the emotional and mental barriers placed there by Ichigo himself. Because of this, both his Hollow/Shinigami powers and Quincy powers are shown as separate initially, instead of being fused into one from the get-go. Ichigo’s hate for his inner-hollow, and his blind faith in his Quincy manifestation is what caused this separation, and blocked him from accessing the full-potential of this incomplete and bastardised Bankai.
Actually, the real tensa zangetsu was the full hollow ichigo. Since tensa zangetsu was ichigo's bankai's name (hence representing only the shinigami-hollow part, not the Quincy part). While the tensa zangetsu that ichigo fuses with in order to become dangai/mugetsu, that's a mutated version which is fused with partial Quincy source.
@@sladew9788 actually if we want to get technical both are and have always been Zangetsu. Why would both look different cause of Ichigo being in bankai if that weren't the case? If bankai was only white then the quincy power shouldn't have changed to look younger. Not to mention Ichigo pointed all this out himself when he had Zangetsu reforged
@@Pr0digyZRX when ichigo was reforging zangetsu, ohetsu points out that OMZ has been pretending to be his zanpakto power, and the real zanpakto was white (aka zangetsu). What ichigo does here is to rename both yhwach's soul fragment and zangetsu as "tensa zangetsu". When he did that, both of them became one entity, so, the TYBW version is a merged soul (which in turn is merged with himself). Meanwhile, the dangai/mugetsu version isn't the same case. Because at this point yhwach's soul fragment acts solely as his Quincy side, not his shinigami side (though, ichigo at this point mistook yhwach's soul fragment to be his shinigami representation). The real tensa zangetsu had always been white prior to reforging. In ichigo's dangai/mugetsu training, it's a mutate version of ichigo's power (though it's more closer to his true powers, since his true powers are a combination of everything not just his shinigami-hollow side)
@@Pr0digyZRX I think the quincy became younger because at that point the Hollow was in Bankai and had more power over Ichigo's Soul. Yhwach becomes younger the less power he has, so maybe it's the same for OMZ.
Ichigo coming to terms with his inner struggles and then unleashing his power to stop Aizen will always be epic. Ironic then that his powers also nearly led to him being gouged and harvested of said power forever as a contignecy by Squad Zero alongside Gotei 13. Him becoming the Spirit King would've been a bleak ending for sure, especially given everything he did and how he used his powers to protect rather than conquer, destroy or control.
Hollowfied Tensa Zangetsu also reminds me a bit of Muramasa from the anime arc. It's the fur neckline on the coat, mostly.
I really do believe that Hollowfied Tensa Zangetsu is True Zangetsu. Ichigo's True Shikai combines to create his True Bankai Tensa Zangetsu. Kubo stated that when the scabbard broke, it revealed True Zangetsu. I also think that Ichigo keeps the one shikai now because the spirits are merged since Hollowfied Tensa Zangetsu could be True Zangetsu.

His Hollow can also call upon his sword from a distance with a simple gesture, almost like Jedi in Star Wars.

@@claybtw6825 It was during the final fight with Ulquiorra when his Hollow took over. Both his spirits have abilities Ichigo hasn’t used yet. The sword thing might be a Soul Reaper skill because it was used by his Hollow who represents said powers but it’s never fully explained.

As much as I love Ichigo's self-actualization at the end of TYBW cour 1, I do kinda miss his interactions with Zangetsu (both aspects). They are some of the most important moments for Ichigo's character development, and contain so much more relevant information once you have the full story. Seeing them three of the interact after Ichigo is more at peace and balanced would've been a nice treat. Though I understand why it doesn't happen from a narrative purpose.
Ichigo says it himself. He will not call upon them as some sort of outside aid. They are his power and he weilds them by his own hands. So there's not really as much need for introspective visits.
As for Hollowfied Tensa Zangetsu. It's a very cool design, and given that he's the amalgamation of all of Ichigo's powers but unhindered by Ichigo's hesitations and lack of experience, he should be pretty freaking strong. But in the one instance we see him, he's held back by how much he cares for Ichigo. Neither Zangetsu wants to actually hurt Ichigo. They just want to help him achieve his goal. This new form is temporary and serves that one function. Considering that they expect to basically die and never return after defeating Aizen, that especially sad.
But it would've been cool if Kubo had used him to gives a preview of some more advanced abilities for Ichigo to use in the future.

I love it when you can tell a character is powerful when they pull up and their foot touches the ground only to shatter the ground where they step, i.e. when vasto lorde white is pulled out of ichigo, and when ichigo exits the dangai and rolls up on aizen.

That would be great to see considering by the time we get to the hell arc, 12 years have passed. That should have been enough for him to master his true bankai
I think that the true tensa zangetsu allows ichigo to use all his powers: shinagmi, Quince, hollow in uisons. The shikai allows him to switch between the power, thus the horn of salvation, or how he appears to have the og shikai in the new breeds from hell one-shot.
. So in summary, shikai power allows him to pick and choose what part of himself he uses at a given time. And his bankai allows him to use all of himself to fight

Merged tensa is basically all his powers without an asauchi it makes me wonder what ichigo would look like with all his powers and acceptance of himself without an asauchi
Probably something like a Resurrección. Quincies don't have natural transformations, so something akin to a Hollow with quincy abilities
think the best way to have a return would be if he ever goes in to his inner world in bankai again since that is the merge of the powers where his base he uses them separately.
You should video breakdowns on all of Ichigo’s new alternate forms from the Brave Souls. As well as all the new forms for the other characters.
seeing all the moments where tensa zangetsu grabs ichigo and throws him around makes the scene where ichi grabs aizen and tosses him make so much more sense. I never picked up on it, but it makes sense.

Well, there is no "both of them" any longer. The two spirits that exists within ichigo are now share the name "tensa zangetsu" and they are one and same with ichigo. So, for the question whether tensa Zangetsu will grow, yes, because ichigo and zangetsu are one, both of them grow together.
Yes, they grow with him. White was Upper Shikai Captain Level 20 years ago. For 17 years he grew stronger inside Ichigo to the point of being one of the most powerful beings in Bleach.

You should have mentioned that hollow and quincy can never merge together because hollows are basically poison to the quincy. We all saw this happen to Masaki when White tried to infect her. However, Ichigo became a container for such a merge that should never have happened in the first place. Such a feat can only be done by someone who is really a worthy successor to the Soul King. This is the very reason why Transendent Aizen couldn't sense Ichigo's powers. Ichigo was basically at a God level that Aizen was trying to reach.
I also agree that Hollowfied Tensa Zangetsu is one of the most powerful character in Bleach. Their merging represents all of Ichigo's powers combined and balanced together. We never see this happen again ever within the story. Ichigo with his true zanpakutou at the end vs Yhwach stated himself that he needs to awaken his powers in order for him to use them properly, meaning he needs a nudge first for those powers to work. Those powers are two separate entities which are finally restored to their true powers. However Dangai Ichigo, who is basically a vessel for Hollowfied Tensa Zangetsu, is already at maximum power and is able to destroy mountains, shake off 90s Hado, and barely gets his arm burned from basically a nuke. His Getsuga form takes him at an even higher level such that he becomes his own zanpakutou. Such levels are really the highest and most transcendent we have ever seen in the whole of Bleach.
Except it works for ichigo because he’s literally a fusion of them both plus shinigami. So your point isn’t even a point

I think Ichigo wanted to be weak but then his mother died and Ichigo had to get strong. He changed while he didn't want to be strong he wanted to protect other. Zangetsu knew this. That's why he held the power back until ichigo truly wanted to be strong.

In my own headcanon, this is the form that the Zangetsus take when Ichigo uses his Bankai from now on, since he needs to combine both blades to become one again. Another thing after he lost his Shinigami Powers he regain them as he opened up and trained a new side Powers called the fullbring which essentially allows him to empower and use the soul energy of the living world around him tell him becoming stronger than dangai Ichigo form form makes sense
What if the old man was holding back his power because he knew that he would suffer the same fate as the soul king, but when push came to shuv in the TYBW he had no choice to give ichigo his freedom to face his own problems

I think of it as the anime has things left out while the manga still has certain things worth checking out if the manga hasn’t been read
As a writer, it's hard to imagine everything that could come up in such a situation, and worse, doing so might make creating the focus fight between Izen and Ichigo harder to conceive. Instead, yes, it's better to get the main battle out of the way, so taht the experience levels needed can be fleshed out later in another arc. Even, if that arc, is to swing back and revisit this arc again as a flash back, or as a new educational component.
What if Ichigo gained some of that power and form when he fought Aizen. It's clear Ichigo in his Dongai form surpassed Aizen and was about to reach Deity level of power since Aizen couldn't sense Ichigo's power but the time Aizen figured out Ichigo is far stronger than him, it was too late.
Its insane to even think that ichigo potential has reached his full potential, in theory he should also be able to use resurrection he could also learn the quincy techniques we saw Quilge and Uryu use bro is nuts
Hey I’ve been confused with trying to answer this question, so I ask if anyone out there can answer, what did hollow ichigo mean when he said “I have no name” in response to byakuya kuchiki’s question during the soul society arc?
At that point in the story Old Man Zangetsu stole his name. One can say he was salty about that. Imagine being a Zanpakuto Spirit waiting for your master to get powerful to contact you and get stronger together then comes this quincy fragment and steals your name, presents himself as the real Zanpakuto making you look like the bad guy and taking credit for the progress of your Master. He even missed the bankai training. Zangetsu was nothing and that was what Ichigo thought of him. That's why he said he had no name.

An asauch have the function to help an shinigame to manifest his powers, but because ichigo don't have one initially, his powers are not sincronized, this is what cause him losting control using hollow powers (based in stinct, emotions and desires), a shinigame, a hollow or an quincy don't need a tutor to learn how they powers work, but it not only will take time it is dangerous too because sometimes the power have nasty drawback efects.

I like to think that when Ichigo fuses his swords, the two spirits also fuse.
I personally feel like he should have had a third manifestation to represent his fullbring powers or have old man Zangetsu be a combination of his Quincy and fullbring Powers the same way Hollow Ichigo is his Shinigami and Hollow powers combined
But his Fullbring Powers come from his Hollow. That's why after evolving the is able to use some of his Shinigami techniques.
I always like to think that Hollowfied tensa zangetsu is the spirt form of ichigos true bankai as it’s a combination of all of ichigos powers (Besides his fullbringer powers)
Despite that, I still think Ichibei would easily curbstomp Hollowfied Tensa Zangetsu. He is just irreversibly busted like that.

I strongly believe it’s going to be questions that’ll never get answered there has been conspiracy left and right about it and theories of others bleach was left off with so many questions and not enough answers to them.
See Ichigo never understood that white is part of the whole zangetsu until this time. And that old man was part of his quince and white was hollow. Both fused by his shinigami style. And unlike the vizords ichigos inner hollow isn't a separate hollow it's part of his whole. Not a separate power just his rash and bold nature. And old man was the calm nd collected nature. And the inner hollow always took over to protect Ichigo when he was loosing or dying

Well, I just want to say that just ichigo's soul reaper and hollow powers became 1, but what about his quincy powers? I dont have a proper theory but what I think its gonna happend is that he in a future will have to adapt his quincy powers to that "tensa zangetsu" crazy form
So I have a theory
Dangi inchigo was ichigo full powered as a shinigami the way his hand merged with his zanpakuto which is why he could use final getsuga tensho in this form. While in final getsuga form his hair is the same as his full hollow form
Full hollow form ichigo was full hollow powers only notice he didn't use any shinigami techniques in the form like flash step or getsuga tensho and also his hair is the same length as final getuga form just different color.
Power wise I believe both forms are equal in power. Full power shinigami levels a mountain by swinging his sword. Full powered hollow fissures the ground by swinging his sword.
By the end of TYBW we have a new bankai form from ichigo which is full power shinigami + full power hollow with quincy powers unlocked. Tensa zangetsu is full powered shinigami + full power hollow + full power quincy...
In conclusion ichigo can run a gauntlet against the captains in his current form. But when he fully understands his quincy powers he could fight them all at the same time
Not to mention he has full bring which i believe will help him infinitly spam final getsuga tensho with anything because of the hollow within him execpt it would be called "final" it would be like "supreme"

Yeah, you have to realize the real Zangetsu (White Ichigo) goes through a lot of crap. First the identity theft from old man Zangetsu, then the constant rejection from his wielder (Ichigo) despite being the reason that he's survived up 'till now. The list goes on, it shows how much he cares about Ichigo with what he was willing to put up with.
If old man zangetsu is his Quincy powers manifested why did he manifest during ichigo’s bankai training?
Because he was the centre of his powers while compressing ichigo's "real powers"

this was his actual bankai i believe and it changed once it got reforged

Considering all that happened in the fight between Ichigo and Hollowfied Tensa Zangetsu, Ichigos rebuild of zanpaktou(s) and his regaining shinigami powers in the TYBWA and the confrontation with Bach, makes it look like it was all pissing in the wind, and so underused. But that's just one of the million things wrong with TYBWA, I guess.

There is no "May be", nah he's only weaker than SK Ywach and MAYBE Aizen (If you exclude prime Soul King). Aizen in TYBW says to Shikai Ichigo "Ah you've regained the power you used to defeat me" where Ichigo was the only one who could sense Aizen and eventually became a dimensional tier above him with Mugetsu; even SK Ywach was afraid of Ichigo's bankai.
"The blade is me" everything we see in hollowfied Tensa Zangetsu is literally Ichigo's full power unleashed. So it seems to me hollowfied Tensa Zangetsu isn't stronger than Ichigo... they're the same being... all 3 of them are Ichigo
But during their final battle yhwach took Ichigo's Quincy away. I don't think there is any zangetsu form like it used. I think it's only white now. (At least that's my theory the way I see it making sense)
Was Ichigo's sword similar to that of the swords manifested by the Arrancar? Since he never properly acquired one until tybw. And because it was white, which was partly shinigami, it acted as a normal sword?
Just wondering if that is the case. The reason I ask this is because did he ever need to acquire a sword through normal means? Could he not have found closure and manifested a sword to match the progression on his own?
Oetsu said no soul reaper can reach their zanpakuto’s full potential without an asauchi. Arrancar zanpakutos are made similarly to soul reapers but are probably made using lesser hollows as the asauchi. Ichigo pulled off incredible feats in his journey up till tybw but his power was forcibly held back by OMZ and he never had a true zanpakuto.
I think we all know the reason why they never showed his true shikai and bankai spirits,THE IMMEASURABLE DRIP THEY POSSESS WOULD ABSOLUTELY CURB STOMP YWACH AND END THE SERIES AT THEIR MERE PRESENCE!!!

Ngl white is lowkey better as a character to ichigo, he only wanted him to be stronger and protect along with help him, while old zangetsu wanted to hold his power back to keep him safe, and honestly justice for white he was hated by ichigo hella just for being a hollow
