Perhaps she should go away from the mainline series after the scattered pieces arc for a few arcs and then come back, with a mini-series focusing on where she went and how she learns to be a more open minded and compassionate leader being published between her departure and her return. In said mini-series, she could go to Blaze's world to get away, meets up with Marine the Racoon, who sympathises with her as she herself had trouble listening to her teammates which caused trouble, and during which Lanolin overcomes her self-loathing and insecurities and defeat the villains, remaining pirate led by Johnny the pirate

each character played a part in the grand scheme of things: team Sonic: main part. with Sonic's role as the phantom rider, distracting the security so that Amy and Tails could investigate. the latter two bumped into Belle who informed them, and Sonic's actions caught the attention of Nite and Don, who gave him the benefit of the doubt, informed him of the Chaotix, and then Sonic informed them about Tails and Amy and asked them to find and rendezvous with them, and he caught up with Clutch and, along with Jet, saved everyone in Restoration HQ Chaotix: a very vital part. they were investigating Cleansweep, and Don and Nite got in touch with Sonic. had they not got into contact with each other, Sonic and his team would've failed in the investigation, Sonic's name would've been mud and they would never have gotten the info exposing Cleansweep to Clutch, and Clutch would've have felt the need to expose Mimic Babylon Rogues: they know Sonic so well that they figure that if he's good, then the people he's disrupting, cleansweep, are the bad guys, and they helped guide the ship away from the city using tow cables attached to flying caravans Diamond Cutters: Out of faith in Sonic, they kept their knowledge to themselves to protect him. Whisper, with her keen eye and mask, saw the differences between the two phantom riders in character and appearance, which gave Tangle more faith, and they told Jewel, compared info and got Jewel's priorities straight, and they tried protecting Sonic from Surge and Lanolin, and they were able to convince Lanolin, albeit by pressuring her, they were implied to be suspicious of Duo even before he was exposed and they, Lanolin even, managed to help guide the ship to safety by pushing it upwards from beneath (that's how I see it, seeing as it wasn't mentioned how) Jewel: She suspected something was wrong with Duo, she was not single minded and recognised when Clutch was goign too far, she informed Tangle and Whisper, they compared info, she protected Nite and Charmy long enough for the latter to insert the proof, set the ship to self-destruct to ensure Clutch didn't take control and found a spot to crash the ship safely Surge and Kit: they were half the reason Clutch was exposed, as by calling him out, they sewed suspicion and doubt towards Cleansweep, with the Chaotix and team sonic's actions sealing the deal, and they actually helped take down Clutch, albeit unwillingly
2:31 as much anti-climatic that seemed, i am glad he got B.U.S.T.E.D( p&f reference my dear) Also poor Lanolin, as i said earlier on tumblr, GIVE HER A HUG! i am mad, she made a mistake, but she has a chance, we haven't lost her yet. Also idk if it's intentional but Sonic is so done with Clutch, and with Surge too. I would be surprised if he snaps or smth, probably won't happen but eh, i want to lowkey see it :] Oh boy this issue was a blast! Wondering what are they doing with Lanolin now, if they are gonna re-build the Restoration, what will happen to Clutch and... where is that *damn* fourth chaos emerald?!
Lanolin isn't getting so much as a back pat until she gives her most sincere apologies to Silver, Whisper, Tangle, Sonic, Tails, and Amy for her uncalled for arrogance and cruelty towards them! Preferably, she should also apologize to all of those racers she recklessly endangered back in Issue 71!
I agree, except for how Mimic was exposed (all those predictions, wrong). there could've been a scene where Tangle and Whisper stop and question Duo on how he knew that they knew that sonic was the phantom rider even though he was unconscious at the time and they kept it to themselves. the only others who knew were the Babylon Rogues, Surge and Kit and Jewel, but he couldn't have learnt from them: Surge and Kit: Whisper was watching them, bearing witness to the fact that she never went anywhere near Duo Babylon Rogues: they spent all night outside and Duo stayed inside Jewel: they only told Jewel just before the last race and Lanolin can vouch for it since she was with Jewel then Whisper then remembers the evidence revealing that there are two phantom riders, and has already deuced earlier that the second one has to be Mimic, and that they only had Duo's word that he was knocked out cold by Mimic and bruised, suggesting the possibility of faking it, and therefor he must be the second phantom rider, and Mimic. Whisper starts off confused as it was 'established' that Duo wasn't Mimic, though Tangle encourages her to follow her gut and opens her mind to the possibility that maybe Mimic has changed a bit and that she was going by old profile or that he could've easily mimicked bruises. Duo tried to sweet talk Lanolin into helping, but Lanolin, now more clear minded, reluctantly considers the possibility, as the evidence, while circumstantial, it does explain his recent behaviour and why he kept encouraging her behaviour, applauding her choices and only telling her compliments, and then Tangle suggest that maybe they should do some tests at restoration HQ, and THEN Clutch makes teh call, nailing the final nail in the coffin. nothing a little re-editing or pleading with the IDW and Sega team can't fix. still they played a big part in the grand scehem of saving the day, not just as called on allies, but as stand out heroes. As the the rest of the things on my wishlist on what I wanted to happened, they may come in the scattered pieces arc
The lost of Recources for Restoration HQ could be limited. Some of the more sturdy and flame ressistenent materials coudl survive and maby in the crash, some rooms might made it out mostly somewhat intact. The HQ ruins and the ship can hold many scavangly reccources. Of course there will be many who will be lost to either the fire or the explosion, but at least they problably can scrap some materials for a new HQ together.
EVERYONE played their part in this: Chaotix and Amy and Tails: escaped with Rough and Tumble's help Jewel: found a place to put the ship in the save the city Babylon Rogues: using the cars to move the ship Diamond Cutters: guiding the ship, presumably by pushing from beneath to give it more lift Surge and Kit and Eggman and Sonic: took down Clutch, though they did fight each other during so
Yeah...Mimic having his true identity revealed just like that was the most anticlimactic way to do so. The writers could have easily done a much better job of getting Mimic exposed, especially given the build up and tensions between the new Diamond Cutters. The story arc overall was really good. I just hope the writers provide some dark moments in future story arcs.
Maybe it could be related to The Ancients and the Starfall Islands with the Chaos Emeralds location. The Ancients tech is, as we know, HEAVILY tied to the Chaos Emeralds, so maybe its calling them?
Here’s a theory on who took the chaos emerald it was Starline he knows how to get in tails house he just had to be sneaky about it he has some cybernetics from the roof collapsing on him so he waited until sonic and tails were busy and during the phantom riders arc he snuck in and took the emerald
I heard that Shadow is getting his own comic, and guess what… the issue has the same Chaos Emerald color. So whoever took the emerald in Tails home, has to be someone that can hold their own against Shadow.
After a full LONG wait, we finally have our hands on the shattering conclusion to the Phantom Riders Arc! Clutch has set the ship to explode and crash into the city! Can the heroes stop him in time? Let's find out! Big thanks to IDW for the Review Copy AND for some of the artists for their opinions on the issue itself! Adam Bryce Thomas's links
I feel for you Mr GamerDude, and I guess their rules on time space had something to do with it, they had trouble squeezing in plot due to so many characters. Nothing some editing and posting on Deviantart or reasoning with the IDW and sonic team can fix
If Jewel had been onto Mimic since issue 64 (And I hope Whisper somewhat regained suspicion of him) perhaps she set him up into a trap by letting him work in her office and carried out a few tests on him to see if he was an octopus or not, and then put a tracker on him, whihc is how they'll find him again
I was prepares for worst outcomes in which Whisper could get into trouble with Lanolin when she attacked Surge and also outcomes in how Mimic will be exposed, but honestly, with this reveal, though could've been slightly more elaborate and less Deus Ex Machina, it dodges many emotional bullets
isn't the idea of sending the Shuttle to the HQ kind of flawed (and end up BAD) even before the Shuttle collapsed there (when Jewel decided that)? I mean, it's not like there are places that have less living beings (forests, sea, WHOEVER). I understand the idea of "the restoration is not the HQ, it's the people"-type message, but there were STILL people and for some reason some of the cast didn't see a way to get there in time to warn of an imminent death by a burning shuttle(? Idk, it doesn't seem gratificating.
I’m a little sad they seem to be going back on surge and kit’s redemption but I hope we see them become full blown heroes who just decide to not be apart of Sonic’s group.
I have a theory just from the future cover that Lanolin is probably going to shutdown or stop socializing with others being afraid of making the same mistake again or they turn out to be minic again
Getting rid of Team Heroes, Sonic, Amy, and Tails was the biggest mistake. 2:52 Good words by Espio. 4:10 Eggman wants revenge after the Phantom Rider plan goes so terrible. 5:25 is like a super go on battery made by Starline's work. 6:19 IDW comic isn't holding back, after with Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, they show Sonic's blood. 7:06 Not so smart, Sonic always being Sonic and cute moments. 7:40 You're catching a rat, but a human got him and fried by a former member of the Diamond Cutters really, Team Rose done real work then you Sonic. 8:47 Oooooo, nice idea. And yeah. 9:30 The skunk brothers aren't leaving yet. They're helping with a brand new Restoration are just getting starting, growing, and stronger. Well then, Eggman got a new rat after laughing at him. Surge and Kit got another plans and Mimic is on the run. Duo is gone, Mimic is on his own, Tangle and Whisper are after him. Now Lanolin have to repay Sonic, Amy, and Tails after getting them out of the race and Silver, too. Hopefully, IDW comic writers don't make Lanolin bad like the rider arc, make her good not to listen to the other who tells the truth, so yeah. New era starting on February 5 of 2025. I fine with Eggman take Crutch, I would like to see him torturing him thinking making a mascot to be a clown of me is good, well you're the real clown now and also again I hope they make Lanolin better, not make her worst like two times and also she have to repay Sonic, Amy, and Tails the right way. Nice work.
Let's not forget that the new shadow issue coming out in March might directly tie in with issue 76. It has a similar background and shadow is holding a yellow emerald Also, does Ian not help with the comic anymore?
he'd probably keep it on his person though (or give it to Rouge) he wouldn't put it in a strange alien altar. I assume he took it from the thing that stole it.
Eggman in the end still had an angle. Typical him. At first I would have thought he was gonna turn Clutch into some kind of machine, but this not that universe Surge landing the hit on Sonic ticked me off, her arrogance will be her downfall And yeah, Laolin finally faces the truth. At least she was mature enough to realize she screwed up. But it was Tangle saying that gives something, she is still ticked off at her but she is mature enough to let that slide. And she told Whisper to calm down when they lost Mimic the coward. She is the heart. I guess what surprised me more was Whisper not losing her temper at Laolin, at least not yet. Once again the restoration is gone, but everything can be rebuilt I agree though, that ending had to many questions. But maybe the chaos emeralds will be relevant in the next saga, and maybe that monster from that page, is connected to a new threathing villian
Finally the last issue is here and I loved it. I don't know where to begin first. First things first can I say I love the whole thing with Rough and Tumble helping out and being trapped bars with it being unlocked. That's honestly funny. And I like the whole thing with Surge and Kit. They will definitely come back and I like how they are just able to just be neutral while finding the enemy and finding Sonic. And I just love Surge's new move called overcharge, that's really cool. The whole ship falling and heading towards the city was definitely is anxiety inducing, I'm making a choice to make the whole ship land near the HQ and possibly destroying it is really sad to see after so many comic book issues. And I especially feel a lot for Jewel since she helps build this place up and it hurts to see it be destroy practically. For Eggman I really like how we just popped in for this new plan and planning to do something to Clutch. And I just like how Sonic and Jet are making this a race and a competition to see who can save the most people while everything is literally on fire. And I really like Talis and Belle's new invention of making a motorbug hover which save Sonic's life. And I'm kind of curious about the ending though with the whole Chaos Emerald missing will it tie in to Sonic Frontiers. Since these old relics reminds me of that. And finally I've been saving the best for last so whole fiasco between Tangle, Whisper, Lanolin, and Mimic. As soon as Mimic was exposed I literally yelled out yes out loud and I was just shooting for literally 5 minutes. And seeing Lanolin face being so bamboozled literally just cheered up my day. Like the smug satisfaction of looking on her face when she messed up will ever be ingrained in my mind and I'll not stop smiling about it. But I like she apologized for her actions and stuff and saying that you'll learn and I love how Tangle says that we're on the same side but also she is still very mad at her for doing all that and I couldn't agree more with Tangle. Lanolin chose to be heart headed and now look what happened a person infiltrated the group and now the ship is about to tank into a city and causing property damage. And what's worse is that Whisper was thinking that she was going insane at that point and that she was tweakin. All that just makes me so mad because all that could have been avoided but she said that she had made some mistakes too which I got to know as well. But I feel so bad for her because every time Mimic escapes. Like seriously look at the gloves. All this could have been avoided if you just be more observant but I understand why they can't be observant because they're in a serious crisis. And honestly I just want tingle and whisper to be happy and just recover from this whole loss thing with the whole restoration and try to build it back up and I don't want Lanolin to be leader any more until she really gets experience under her belt. But finally I just always wanted her to get her humbled like this and I'm seeing this right now it makes me so happy But finally I just always wanted her to get her humbled like this and I'm seeing this right now it makes me so happy. That look on her face will always make me geek. All that she needs to do is to apologize to Silver and honestly I would like for him to maybe hold a little bit of a grudge since he made him look like a bad guy, that or forgive. But honestly tingle is a better person than me though because if I found out that the person that I was trying to perpetrating inside of this restoration violating security and was clearly able to help conspire against a whole shipping tent into a whole city, I'll be mad to the point that I wouldn't really trust her until she has to earn my trust. Other than that I just love the arc from this storyline it was really peak and I can't wait for the next arc to live up to this one.
yeah I want Lanolin break away from the Diamond Cutters , what happened with her Tangle and Whisper, yeah she needs to be separate from them and reflect her experience of being part of the team, by looking at the covers looks like Silver gonna be her replacement to help them catch Clutch, Lanolin needs time for herself
For the location of emerald and the flight has faced doybtless aliens I have two potential suspects the supect number 1 the black arms and suspect number two the metarex
I liked this issue a lot except for how Sonic came across when fighting Clutch. Moralizing the villain and telling him to "apologize" is extremely weaksauce writing for Sonic. Again, the writing teams weakness for making Sonic far too much of a moral authority and preaching to the villain rather than getting straight to business. Sonic should not be a paragon hero, he is a roguish hero.

Whisper, with her keen eye and mask, saw the differences between the two phantom riders in character and appearance, which gave Tangle more faith, and they told Jewel, compared info and got Jewel's priorities straight, and they tried protecting Sonic from Surge and Lanolin, and they were able to convince Lanolin, albeit by pressuring her, they were implied to be suspicious of Duo even before he was exposed and they, Lanolin even, managed to help guide the ship to safety by pushing it upwards from beneath (that's how I see it, seeing as it wasn't mentioned how)
Jewel: She suspected something was wrong with Duo, she was not single minded and recognised when Clutch was goign too far, she informed Tangle and Whisper, they compared info, she protected Nite and Charmy long enough for the latter to insert the proof, set the ship to self-destruct to ensure Clutch didn't take control and found a spot to crash the ship safely
Surge and Kit: they were half the reason Clutch was exposed, as by calling him out, they sewed suspicion and doubt towards Cleansweep, with the Chaotix and team sonic's actions sealing the deal, and they actually helped take down Clutch, albeit unwillingly
I did hear about Shadow getting his own comic soon. Hopefully that is true.
Not a series. It’s just a one shot comic
Just single number

2:31 as much anti-climatic that seemed, i am glad he got B.U.S.T.E.D( p&f reference my dear)
Also poor Lanolin, as i said earlier on tumblr, GIVE HER A HUG! i am mad, she made a mistake, but she has a chance, we haven't lost her yet.
Also idk if it's intentional but Sonic is so done with Clutch, and with Surge too. I would be surprised if he snaps or smth, probably won't happen but eh, i want to lowkey see it :]
Oh boy this issue was a blast!
Sonic issue 75 was flawless
I agree, except for how Mimic was exposed (all those predictions, wrong). there could've been a scene where Tangle and Whisper stop and question Duo on how he knew that they knew that sonic was the phantom rider even though he was unconscious at the time and they kept it to themselves. the only others who knew were the Babylon Rogues, Surge and Kit and Jewel, but he couldn't have learnt from them:
Surge and Kit: Whisper was watching them, bearing witness to the fact that she never went anywhere near Duo
Babylon Rogues: they spent all night outside and Duo stayed inside
Jewel: they only told Jewel just before the last race and Lanolin can vouch for it since she was with Jewel then
Whisper then remembers the evidence revealing that there are two phantom riders, and has already deuced earlier that the second one has to be Mimic, and that they only had Duo's word that he was knocked out cold by Mimic and bruised, suggesting the possibility of faking it, and therefor he must be the second phantom rider, and Mimic.
EVERYONE played their part in this:
Chaotix and Amy and Tails: escaped with Rough and Tumble's help
Jewel: found a place to put the ship in the save the city
Babylon Rogues: using the cars to move the ship
Diamond Cutters: guiding the ship, presumably by pushing from beneath to give it more lift
Surge and Kit and Eggman and Sonic: took down Clutch, though they did fight each other during so
10:14 Hey! It’s the OC, Byte the Goat!
caught red handed, or rather, BLUE handed 😆😆😆
16:51 something tells me that Eggman wants to “deal with him” personally (he touched his stuff)😅
20:30 A 3D RENDER OF SONIC IN THE PHANTOM RIDER'S SUIT NO WAY 😮😁
i think the outfit got into one of the mobile games
Maybe it could be related to The Ancients and the Starfall Islands with the Chaos Emeralds location. The Ancients tech is, as we know, HEAVILY tied to the Chaos Emeralds, so maybe its calling them?
A fair assessment. They need to work up to Frontiers eventually.
Here’s a theory on who took the chaos emerald it was Starline he knows how to get in tails house he just had to be sneaky about it he has some cybernetics from the roof collapsing on him so he waited until sonic and tails were busy and during the phantom riders arc he snuck in and took the emerald
Organic slim on the walls looks similar to Black Arms offal
Isn't Starline dead? Seems like a stretch, but eh.
@ who knows they never found the body
Y’know I haven’t been that interested with idw for a while but this issue right here I’m back!
I heard that Shadow is getting his own comic, and guess what… the issue has the same Chaos Emerald color. So whoever took the emerald in Tails home, has to be someone that can hold their own against Shadow.
Like Black Arms?
A good issue reviewed by a good reviewer.
Surge: Would be a shame if someone destroyed Restoration HQ.
Sonic: Yeah. Would be a bigger shame what would happen to the idiot who would try it.

3:35 BOIS quit
$10 says the ending is gonna the back door to the Sonic x dc crossover
I feel for you Mr GamerDude, and I guess their rules on time space had something to do with it, they had trouble squeezing in plot due to so many characters. Nothing some editing and posting on Deviantart or reasoning with the IDW and sonic team can fix
You're busted this time, Mimic! 😈
Pick fiction peak cinema nuff said 🗿
I would to see Silver or an evil version of him get ticked off at Lanolin along with the rest of the Diamond Cutters for kicking him out
I was prepares for worst outcomes in which Whisper could get into trouble with Lanolin when she attacked Surge and also outcomes in how Mimic will be exposed, but honestly, with this reveal, though could've been slightly more elaborate and less Deus Ex Machina, it dodges many emotional bullets
20:40 Plot Amor Lmao
Sonic the hedgehog 3 is showing in cinemas on 26th December in Nigeria so I haven’t seen it yet sadly
Eggman taking control of the eggstreme gear? did NOT see that coming
isn't the idea of sending the Shuttle to the HQ kind of flawed (and end up BAD) even before the Shuttle collapsed there (when Jewel decided that)? I mean, it's not like there are places that have less living beings (forests, sea, WHOEVER). I understand the idea of "the restoration is not the HQ, it's the people"-type message, but there were STILL people and for some reason some of the cast didn't see a way to get there in time to warn of an imminent death by a burning shuttle(?
Idk, it doesn't seem gratificating.
I’m a little sad they seem to be going back on surge and kit’s redemption but I hope we see them become full blown heroes who just decide to not be apart of Sonic’s group.
Also it would be insane if they brought back the metarex for the next arc. Would be kinda a big jump but I think it would fun to see them again
It has a similar background and shadow is holding a yellow emerald
Also, does Ian not help with the comic anymore?
Many assume it was Shadow who took the emerald since in the covers of his one shot he can be seen holding the same emerald
he'd probably keep it on his person though (or give it to Rouge) he wouldn't put it in a strange alien altar. I assume he took it from the thing that stole it.
Eggman in the end still had an angle. Typical him. At first I would have thought he was gonna turn Clutch into some kind of machine, but this not that universe
Surge landing the hit on Sonic ticked me off, her arrogance will be her downfall
And yeah, Laolin finally faces the truth.
Once again the restoration is gone, but everything can be rebuilt
I agree though, that ending had to many questions. But maybe the chaos emeralds will be relevant in the next saga, and maybe that monster from that page, is connected to a new threathing villian
clutch becomes eggmans little cyborg Hench man Idk
Other than that I just love the arc from this storyline it was really peak and I can't wait for the next arc to live up to this one.
yeah I want Lanolin break away from the Diamond Cutters , what happened with her Tangle and Whisper, yeah she needs to be separate from them and reflect her experience of being part of the team, by looking at the covers looks like Silver gonna be her replacement to help them catch Clutch,
Lanolin needs time for herself
For the location of emerald and the flight has faced doybtless aliens I have two potential suspects the supect number 1 the black arms and suspect number two the metarex
idk why but your voice sounds like that one yter "no one wants burger king foot lettuce in their burger"
and now I cant stop hearing it
I liked this issue a lot except for how Sonic came across when fighting Clutch.
Why is he so lame 😭
