I purchased the 2000W last year. I use it to power a mini split installed in my Semi Truck. The Generator have worked through 2 summers running it everyday. I am surprised it lasted this long with the type of abused it been through. I am still running the thing and it just keep on working with no issues.
Just bought the Predator 1400 at Harbor Freight, Tucson, AZ - $440 + tax (Oct 24, 2021) Will fire it up tomorrow and run it for an hour. Plan to use it to power a 110 W amplifier for a guitar! I will put it at the end of a 50 ft power cord next weekend.
I bought an Ai Power 2000 watt peak, 1600 continuous watt Inverted Generator 3 years ago for $386.00... I liked it so much I bought a second one for the same price...super quiet ...much less expensive than the $1000.00 Honda PLUS this AiPower generator comes with the Parallel System built right into the Unit...just connect the wires they provided and your're good to go ! I also have a Sportsman's 1000 watt Inverter Generator 1000 watts peak , 800 continuous....that littly beauty only cost me $186.00 3 years ago....Super Quiet and sips gas ! Harbor Freight needs to get a Grip on their Inverter Generator Prices ! NIce review tho...Thanks ! Liked/Subscribed !
HF has a return policy Its amazing Actual customer service like Sears 30 years ago You can beat their prices but their package is beyond reproach love them or hate them. I love harbor freight I returned a non running predator 4 months after my warranty ended and they returned it and gave me a new one no questions asked. Who else does that? Did I mention I bought it at a harbor freight 400 miles away. It is not comparable
I now have about 50 hrs on my 1400. I replaced my stolen Honda 2000. The AC needs more power than the 2000. I once had the Yamaha 2400 it would run my 15k btu AC. I went small for weight and less fuel burn. The new Predator 1400 is a real fuel miser. Six hours on about half a gallon charging the RV. It starts on one pull except after running out of fuel then about 3 pulls. The Carbon Monoxide sensor is the only trouble I have had. I disabled it at least it is easy to do. I bought it for my RV that has solar.
I like the small size of the 1400 but think 2000 with the Parallel kit is the way to go and with two 2000s if one breaks down I will still have one running till I can repair the other. Thanks for the video, Mike
Ok so I think my steamer got wet inside and i plugged it in and it overloaded my 2000. It melted the drain hoses, rubber coolant hoses, and the insulation padding on the inside panel. It didn't burn through the heat shield around the gas tank but torched the surrounding plastic.
This was a great video. Very informative Thank you. Side note, when you had them both side by side. It would’ve been nice for you to point to each of the outlets as you were explaining them on the Predator 2000.
Thanks for your review. I am trying to decide between the Predator 2000 and the 1400 for myself. I know the 1400 has a slightly lower noise rating, but in the video it sounds to me as though the 2000 is quieter at the same distance. It can be difficult to judge though coming from a TH-cam video. Which one sounds quieter to you in person (under the same load, and at the same distance)? I really appreciate your help!
I bought the 1400, tried it ,then returned it andgot the 2000. Same volume, and you get way more power for about $100 more. I also have the 3500 ,, no problems, great generators.
The parallel connections aren't color coded. My HF is trying to figure it out for me. My parallel kit had no manual in it, but this gen is new since they came out with the parallel kit. I'd like to see you try it.
@@lindaclayton121 They can def be paralleled. Just have to figure out which plug goes where in the 1400. Red/black. It might not matter in the newer ones like that.
my WEN 2000w is much quieter than the 1100 or that predator 2000 my WEN is reading 60db on high speed and 53db on eco and what i loved about my WEN is its much easier to do service
I can see that. If I had to pick one, it’s the Predator 2000 as it’s better value and can power more items. But there are applications for the 1400 that make it a worthwhile variation.
You should say the specifications Of the oil. And you should demonstrate how to add the oil. That's the whole idea of the video. Maybe there's some tricks you're doing That can help me novices

that is awesome! thanks for sharing.
Awesome I just bought this exact same generator a couple of minutes ago . Cant wait to receive it in the mail .

You can screw in the funnel and use it to empty the oil also and really keep the mess to a minimum
looking forward to trying that. thanks for the tip!

Thanks, you answered all relevant questions. August 2023 price $469; still cheaper than Honda equivalent.

Thanks for sharing James. Great to hear you made it to 50hrs and that the sensor can be bypassed.
Finally a review!!!

Agree.

Rebadge, I had the Genrac. These all come from one factory in China and they are simply re-branded.
Finally, a generator that doesn’t annoy everyone in the camp!
You need to hear it in person; it's extremely annoying in terms of tone and pitch. The 2000 is much quieter.
It sounds annoying as hell in this video.
@@jmljml5065 I was thinking the same. In the video, the 2000 sounds far quieter!
Thanks!
folks should check out your written review too! very nice! generatorbible.com/generators/predator/1400-57063/

honestly, they are about the same. the 1400 is a little higher pitch and the 2000 is a lower rumble. the 2000 sounds better to my ear.

Well, when you going to parallel them?

How long will the 2000 run on a gallon of gas compared to the 1400?
depends on the loading but maybe 5 hrs.
The parallel ports on the 1400 aren’t color coded.
What could possibly go wrong? 😂
It started with 1 pull with no fuel in the line? Must be a miracle!
Very quiet?
How much oil did you add?
How much fuel stabilizer on 1GAL
none
That looks like a baby Honda eu2200.
Now we need a propane kit for it. 😉
That would be awesome 🤩
No gas gauge on the 1400
Good point. I should have mentioned that. The 2000 has a fuel gage but 1400 does not.
I just bought the 1400, could you tell me how long to run it for the first time?
This is my opinion only: 1-3 hrs at only 50% load. The key is 50% of rated power load so you give it a slow break in period.
What are your run times? I plan on running mine basically at low idle, just a few lights…
i dont get it, inverter? i need power to run a small ac, a generator. the inverter stuff is confusing.
You don’t have to ground it to start it ?
no. not required
The manual say yes.
I don’t know much about these… why is it not required if the directions say to do it but also they don’t give you any thing to ground it with.
Anyone have a max run time? Not what box says but actual average just using some lights?
6-8 hrs on ~50% load.
my WEN 2000w is much quieter than the 1100 or that predator 2000 my WEN is reading 60db on high speed and 53db on eco and what i loved about my WEN is its much easier to do service
My Westinghouse 4500 is 52 db, if the price was better i may bite but eh I'll pass
I can see that. If I had to pick one, it’s the Predator 2000 as it’s better value and can power more items. But there are applications for the 1400 that make it a worthwhile variation.

Second one in less than a year. Not impressed keeps breaking down. Monoxide sensor keeps going bad 👎 use outside not any blockage. Junk!!!!!
