Wow! That burgundy is so different to any other pour I've ever seen on TH-cam. The contrast with all the other colours is amazing. I don't know how you always manage to get those cells and lacing with just paint and water and nothing else.
This is the best video I have seen to give step by step instructions for a beginner like me. I like the Burgandy base other than a black or white. The colors are amazing combined. Just what I was going for.

Hi, Mark! Marvelous! I think the energy of creation is flying everywhere over us these days, cuz yesterday I made almost a similar piece. Round 40 cm canvas, light burgundy ( I made from blue and red) base, payne's grey, 24k gold, a sort of blueish-green metallic and white, in the end I dropped some dark purple on the base but is faar less beautiful than your commission piece! Thanks to you now I am in a mood of burgundy, most probably a geode :D

Wow Mark, this burgundy base is soooooo pretty and in perfect harmony with the other colours. The design is absolutely gorgeous and the center looks like sort of a black hole. I love that you used a round canvas for this beautiful piece of art. It was great joy to watch you creating it. How about doing one with a chocolate brown base and some beige, orange, copper and gold?
Love those colours and cells. I did a bloom burst today but I just can not seem to get my base paint right. I put plenty on but it never seems to cover the sides very well, ends up too thin and you can see the canvas. Also it took a little while for the colour top paint to move. As far as I could tell I made the base paint consistency about right but maybe you could give me some tips please as maybe it wasn't right.
Thank you. I always paint my sides first to help with coverage especially if my base paint isn’t opaque - the base paint needs to be very fluid ( and enough of it to help The paint layered on top to flow)

Thank you so much. Cell creation is all to do with density and using metallic (gold) can really help create those cells. I’ve also found using a range of brands within one piece also helps.

Hello Mark Question - When you did your first layer of burgundy paint. Did you wait for the burgundy paint to dry before you laid down the black paint? Or did you pour the black paint on top of the wet burgundy paint? Steph..
Thank you so much Robert! So pleased you’re liking what you see. I usually use a palette knife to collect the drips up from the sides so it doesn’t pull the design off the canvas. Once it’s dry I take the backing tape off so the back is clean and sides are tidy. Happy New Year to you 🎉

Hi Steph - the burgundy is wet and fluid (you need your base to be fluid when blowing out the design). 👍🏻

It’s down to personal preference I’d say. I always use a spray varnish as I don’t work with resin but both would be great
