I know what you mean about needing or not needing a lot of expats on our travels. I’m an introvert and my husband is an extrovert and I would have thought that being around people wouldn’t be important to me. Our first three nomad winters we were pretty much on our own and that was ok, but last February we met up with about 30 people in KL from the group, Go With Less which was created by Amy and Tim Rutherford for the purpose of bringing nomadic, slow traveler FIRE people together. We had so much fun meeting and hanging out with like minded people. And now through the beauty of Facebook and Instagram we can see if our paths are possibly crossing and maybe meetup for a beer or dinner.

Part of my plan is to RV. I'm going to become a mobile notary for while I'm in Florida (where I currently live). There are TONS of places to visit a month at a time in Florida

You MAY have answered the question before, where do you all get annual visits, teeth cleanings, etc?

I'm in my first year of retirement and before that I've been putting money away for my ultimate Amtrak trips for when I do. My first year I will be hitting every Amtrak overnight (and some others) during my first year, and I have everything covered

Are your budget recommendations for a couple? Would it be half or a third less for single persons?

How do you handle health insurance while traveling abroad? I have several medications I take daily.

Hello, I just found your channel and I’m about to watch more of your videos. I am curious though. I’ve seen a number of other travel vloggers say that living in SE Asia is fairly inexpensive. Basically all of them say that you can live quite comfortably on less than $3,000 a month in places like Thailand and the Philippines. You say that we should budge $4,000. Are you referring to living in places like Romania or giving yourself cushion to travel extensively around the world while retired? Some long term residents of Thailand for example say they live a good life in Thailand for $1,700-$2,500.

Yes, you can live on $3,000, but the $4,000 is because when you are starting out it'll be more on short term leases than a long term lease, and you'll want to check off some bucket list items as well. The $4,000 is also the average per month, so some months are 3k and some are 5k.

I've watched all of your videos to date and am curious. What percentage of your monthly budget do you usually allocate to accomodation/travel/food/expenses etc? Looking at airbnb (as per your suggestion) I can see that I could easily spend 70%+ of our budget on accommodation, but am trying to aim for around 30-40%. What do you do?
