    In honor of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Gannett’s Asian American Forward Employee Resource Group, which connects almost 130 Asian American employees and allies across the company, wanted to highlight the many rich traditions across cultures.
    AAPI month, held every May, is a time to celebrate and honor the contributions Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans have made to our nation’s history, society and culture.

    As a pacific islander, I think its better that we seperate. Asians have theirs and pacific islanders have their own. I feel like we're under- representated. Most I see is Asians.

      It's good to be inclusive with Asians because in my opinion, Asians would go great meeting Pacific Islanders, I mean i'm Asian well South Asian and Southeast Asian like Cambodia and Sri Lanka and I would love to meet a Pacific Islander one day because they are unique and it's not just Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, It's also Native Hawaiians who are the first people to go to Hawaii.

    Wow, can we have the African American and Blacks Throughout the Diaspora Heritage Month (AABTD) that sounds more all inclusive.

    So when is USA today going to address Bo Young Lee getting fired on AAPI month for addressing racism?

    Respect all Pacific Islanders! We cultivate better on smaller portions of land! This has been a proven fact!
    Restore the organic mother on all lands ! Respect your monarchy 🌺 the mother gifts us all with light and she comes in many faces of color ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

    Coming from a different heritage, what is the best way for me/or say people to celebrate the heritage of Asian Pacific Americans? I would love to show my love for all heritage.

      @Tulouna Le Lagi Then America must know. It must be told to the newscasters and or press and not just to social media. People from my American heritage, a majority of us stand up and stand out for our right to be heard. We also say it loud and say it proud. I believe both groups should do the same so they won't sweep this issue under the rug as if it didn't matter. You all deserve it.

    Its veryr funny how ppl only complain about black history month but nobody else's lol.

      Aside from school misrepresentation, my biggest complaint about Black History Month is WHY is it February instead of June?
      Love Month being February just makes sense and its so frustrating to constantly have another communities being overlapped in representation during culturally relevant times.

      It doesn’t, if you actually do some research, March is Irish and Greek Heritage month, July is French heritage month, September is Bourbon heritage month, September/October is German heritage month, and October is Italian heritage month.
      There are also heritage months for Hispanic, Native American, Arab, Jewish, Caribbean, Filipino, Immigrants, Women, LGBTQ+, and Disabled people too.

    Still waiting on English, Irish, Italian, etc, ect months. I mean Irish and Italian immigrants came over, were treated horribly, built most of NY city and other places, yet nothing. I mean everyone else is getting a month. Even women's history. Just looking for fairness across the board, not just picking and choosing due to wokeness

    • @nellyfabulous
      @nellyfabulous ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No one really does anything on these heritage months if we’re speaking honestly about it. That said, if you actually do some research, March is Irish and Greek Heritage month, July is French heritage month, September is Bourbon heritage month, September/October is German heritage month, and October is Italian heritage month. And in the schools in the US for State and US National history, which goes year round, it’s usually filled with white history.

      The purpose of these heritage months is to focus one month of attention to the minority cultures and peoples of the United States, whose histories are often overlooked and not taught on as wide a scale as those from European nations. That's all.
