    Great video, thank you. I was thinking about getting a action camera currently I record with my Google pixel 6 XL and a gimbal which I really like and I was curious do you think an action camera would give better footage than a pixel 6 XL phone? Also would you suggest using the action camera with a gimbal or does the action camera not need a gimbal?

      I haven't tried that phone so I can't advise on that, but in daylight a good action cam doesn't need a gimbal. In very low light one would help a lot. There are some really compact gimbals now specifically made for action cams.

    My only frustrations with my AcePro are the rolling shutter especially in low light mode, and Bluetooth compatibility. I wish I there were more options for Bluetooth audio. Sure I can use AirPods but I’d really prefer to use my Anker earbuds. All told I’m impressed with it. It provides way better video than my iPhone and allows me to continue using a small camera that’s always at the ready for spontaneous videos.

    I've switched from using my GoPro to using this camera for filming family holidays and creating TH-cam content. The camera is great overall, but I have a couple of concerns. Firstly, the quick shooting feature isn't as intuitive as I'd like it to be. With the GoPro, you can easily start and stop recording by pressing the button, but with the AcePro, if you accidentally touch the display after recording, the camera stays on, which can drain the battery or cause it to overheat in your pocket without you realizing. I've managed to work around this issue with practice, but I'd prefer not to have to. Secondly, I've noticed that the camera lacks a close focus feature. Despite these concerns, I love using it.

    I switched from the GoPro 7 to the Insta360 Ace and thought this was an upgrade. I'm really happy with the videos. But with many photos I have the problem that faces in particular (but also other things) often look like they were reworked by an AI. I have a lot of vacation photos that I can't use because the faces have strange lines and look "drawn".
    I also sent the problem to Insta and described it. Maybe it's just my camera?

    The polarization problem is that the screen is horizontally polarized and the sunglasses are vertically polarized. Poor design choice by Insta360. If they'd have rotated that 90 degrees we wouldn't be complaining. Sometimes a glass screen protector will help, as it can diffuse enough to allow better angles of view. I fixed the same problem on my Sony ZV1m1 this way.

    • @Roos-Reviews
      @Roos-Reviews 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    • @davidfirth1
      @davidfirth1 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Roos-Reviews Performance. And when I say poor design choice, I'm referring to how common polarized sunglasses are. A lot of laptops, TVs, etc. are oriented with the screen polarizers on an angle to allow them to work with or without sunglasses. But, Engineers are balancing viewing angles, color rendition, how sharp the screen looks, manufacturing requirements, etc. and choices get made. As an Engineer, myself, I get that design compromises are necessary and if the screen looks better to 70 percent of users if done one way and not as good if done another (or there's waste in manufacturing to cut larger sheets of materials) that the larger use case or the money savings win. Still annoys me to walk into a restaurant and their menu screens look black unless I cock my head or my camera screen goes black when I put on my prescription sunglasses.

      You had two legitimate complaints. Price and Lens Marketing. The Ace solves those problems but is less reviewed.
      How does it stack up against the Ace Pro? How does it stack up against the Action 4?

    • @Roos-Reviews
      @Roos-Reviews 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      You are not the judge of whether or not my complaints are "legitimate". They are subjective opinions. If I'm getting white balance issues with a camera, or it's missing things I like on other cameras, or I think it's expensive for the performance, that's my experience. Those are my opinions.
      I don't have the Ace. I just didn't think your comment " if you think the Ace Pro is expensive and the Leica branding is mainly for marketing you should buy the Ace" made sense. I do think the AP being $130 more than the closest competitor without providing better image quality is an unfortunate situation. Me buying the Ace will not change my opinion on the Ace Pro's comparison to the Action 4.
      Do you have a genuine question that I can help you with or are you just being a bit hostile because I didn't pay for this particular camera other than with several months of my free time?
      You have a TH-cam channel. Why don't you go out and buy every current action camera and test them for a few months and make a video about your opinions. At least then, you will be in a better position to judge whether or not the opinions of others are legitimate.

    Always love your reviews, unlike you, I actually bought my Ace Pro when it launched with those hard earn Canuck $$$'s ;). I'm 7 months into this camera and yah, of course, every camera has their 'glitches' GoPro, overheating, freezing and that always jandas yellow tinge in my videos lack of innovation to the Action 4 with it's 'jitter' issues. But as an overall camera, the Ace Pro wins. It's not the perfect camera by any means but at the very least Insta360 is consistently pushing out firmware releases to improve it. Where's GoPro and DJI with this? I'm still waiting for my firmware update for the DJI Action 2, it's been over two years and it's still an active sku camera. Thank you for pointing out the good AND the bad of this camera but you missed a couple of important features... the screen display interface, although it has issues with polarized sunglasses which by the way is 75% of cell phones out there lol the interface responsiveness, ease of use and easy menus blows it's competitors away. I love DJI and bought the DJI for the display interface mostly but after using the Ace Pros screen, I'm not liking the DJI A4 interface anymore and you also forgot many functions tha the other cameras don't offer, gestures, pause function, Clarity zoom etc. The reason for the controversy is simple, Insta360 with it's current line up is a direct threat to the two really big players in this category and being the youngest company of them all Insta360 is simply being bullied. Looking forward to your next video!

    • @Roos-Reviews
      @Roos-Reviews 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A sponsorship is when a company pays money to a creator to make a video about their product. In that case, they usually also must sign a contract and agree to what they can and can't say. And usually the company has the right to preview the video and suggest edits before it goes public.
      In my case, I was just sent the camera and was free to do and say anything I wanted. I was not paid any money. I was very clear in the beginning that I received this camera as a review unit and did not have to purchase it, but that all my opinions are honest and entirely my own.
      Also, the camera is not really "free" per se, as it cost me a lot of time to make the video and the small amount of ad revenue it makes will never pay back that time. It is like working for a small fraction of minimum wage, but I get to play with cool and interesting tech products in return.

    • @SteveWB

      @@Roos-Reviews So in essence you were paid with the camera for your work as it wasn't free. I am a full time creator and my intention is not to hate or troll you. You do Amazing videos. This is literally on the upload page of youtube for every video upload. " If you accepted anything of value from a third party to make your video, you must let us know. We’ll show viewers a message that tells them your video contains paid promotion." If you receive a product for free and did not buy it out right the video is paid. Just because your video is considered a sponsored video does not mean you are faking the review. I think your reviews are very fair and honest. However you were still paid with a camera. If they did not give you the camera this video would not exist. Is what it is.

    • @Roos-Reviews
      @Roos-Reviews 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @SteveWB @SteveWB I'm getting my definition of sponsorship from the Cambridge Dictionary, which is "money that is given, usually by a company, to support a person, organization or activity".
      TH-cam has recently added that new check box and I noticed it about two uploads ago and I have not had a chance to figure out how it applies to me. I also see that none of the other reviewers I watch have a message pop up saying that a video is paid unless they were actually paid cash by the company sending the product, so again I am still figuring that part out. I don't want my viewers to get a message that the video is a paid sponsorship because that implies money changed hands when it did not. It is generally accepted by almost everyone that the word "paid" means given money. So it is a bit confusing.
      Would you mind linking me to your full-time channel as I would like to see how you are approaching this change.
