Their friend was scared and upset and they recognized that and rather than flinch away from the problem and leave Evie to handle things, they rallied around Mal like the sweet, protective brothers that they are and let her know she wasn't alone....that they were there for her too. They showed this same protective friendship again after Uma showed up at the party and humiliated her. I'm proud of them. They are MUCH more than just the sons of villains. They both have good hearts.

This is my favorite moment of all 3 movies. It's sweet watching the core four just sit on the ground and talk. And dove's facial acting is absolutely AMAZING! You can see the stress and confusion in her eyes from start to finish. And the same goes for Sofia, Cameron, and booboo as well.
I love how Jay in the over protective member of the group... in D1 Chad tried to grab Evies mirror and Jay attacked him and in D2 Harry came up towards Mal in “Its Going Down” and Jay came behind her and gave Harry that “hurt her, I dare u look” and now this 😭

I watched the first movie and loved it, and already back then I wanted more Carlos. When the other movies and the animated series came out, I thought they were focusing way too much on the girls both individually and as friends, but the boys were basically set aside (which meant not much Carlos). I really wished they had shown a bit more of the friendship between the boys and more scenes like this with all four... and obviously more Carlos. It’s so sad that we will never see those big black beautiful eyes and kind smile again... 😭 R.I.P. Cameron! We will miss you always!

I love them all but when Evie pulled Mal aside because she could see she was breaking, Carlos should have left that whole talk for later. Evie knows how to make Mal feel better when she needs it and clearly Mal was just breaking and needed her girl talk. I get that Carlos and Jay want to be apart of that too but they should have let Evie console Mal and calm her down because Mal can feel truly comfortable with just the two of them. Then later, when Mal is calmer, they can all talk as a group.
That is the reason Carlos did it, Mal and Evie always go off together, despite Carlos and Jay going through everything with them too, it was as if they were completely disregarded like Evie was the most important thing, Jay and Carlos always wanted to comfort Mal and help her which they did manage to do at some points,in the 1st movie it was Jay who hung up the Video chat to keep his friends safe, and in the 2nd movie it was Jay who went behind Mal to keep the others away, Carlos also tried to help but couldn't as easily because he didn't quite know how to comfort meanwhile Jay did, But Evie even if on accident always ended up locking up both boys, they grew up together, lived together, went through hell and back together and yet Evie is the one who gets the credit? Carlos asking them to sit so they could all talk was because he also wanted to help Mal but Evie never let them until Carlos spoke up, Finally they also got credit, not to mention Jay's seen Mal break(Dance when Uma showed up), and the three of them were the only ones capable of approaching Mal at any given point so it was truly not fair how many times they locked Carlos and Jay out, what Mal needed were her friends and Jay and Carlos are her friends too

I love them all but when Evie pulled Mal aside because she could see she was breaking, Carlos should have left that whole talk for later. Evie knows how to make Mal feel better when she needs it and clearly Mal was just breaking and needed her girl talk. I get that Carlos and Jay want to be apart of that too but they should have let Evie console Mal and calm her down because Mal can feel truly comfortable with just the two of them. Then later, when Mal is calmer, they can all talk as a group.
That is the reason Carlos did it, Mal and Evie always go off together, despite Carlos and Jay going through everything with them too, it was as if they were completely disregarded like Evie was the most important thing, Jay and Carlos always wanted to comfort Mal and help her which they did manage to do at some points,in the 1st movie it was Jay who hung up the Video chat to keep his friends safe, and in the 2nd movie it was Jay who went behind Mal to keep the others away, Carlos also tried to help but couldn't as easily because he didn't quite know how to comfort meanwhile Jay did, But Evie even if on accident always ended up locking up both boys, they grew up together, lived together, went through hell and back together and yet Evie is the one who gets the credit? Carlos asking them to sit so they could all talk was because he also wanted to help Mal but Evie never let them until Carlos spoke up, Finally they also got credit, not to mention Jay's seen Mal break(Dance when Uma showed up), and the three of them were the only ones capable of approaching Mal at any given point so it was truly not fair how many times they locked Carlos and Jay out, what Mal needed were her friends and Jay and Carlos are her friends too
