Did you know you can make choc syrup from cocoa? 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup Hershey’s cocoa 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 cup water 1 teaspoon vanilla Combine cocoa, sugar, and salt in a large saucepan. Add water and mix until smooth. Bring mixture to a boil and boil for one minute, stirring constantly to prevent it from boiling over. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. If the syrup is too thin, boil it for another minute or so to thicken. Storing it in the refrigerator will also help thicken it.

I was luckier when my car was broken into. Some things were stolen, the car wasn’t damaged, but I lost a LOT less than your family. So sorry!!!! People can be horrible

Sorry to hear about the truck getting broken in to. Hm, if I only had a dollar, I'd get a pack of ramen (35 cents) and then 65 cents of whatever loose veggies I could get. Though honestly, if I truly only had a dollar and absolutely no food at home, I'd probably walk the couple miles to my sister's house and ask if I can stay for a meal. I am very, very lucky that she lives so close.

I’d go to Walmart and buy a six pack of eggs $.74 and a package of chicken flavor ramen for $.30. I’ve always got pennies in my car. At home I’d cook the ramen, add to my eggs scramble up with some soy sauce and if I have any veggies I’d throw those in. Could feed 3 adults on that. We don’t pay tax on food in Indiana. 15 years ago I moved to a smaller place and had to put some stuff in storage. The FIRST night my unit was broken into and pilfered. It was heartbreaking at a time I was already down but I did end up getting some stuff back when they were found in an abandoned stolen car. Sorry Dusty. I feel your pain.
You can bring your purse to a leather shop and see if they can replace the zipper…if they can’t fix it they might be able to tell you where you can get it fixed…I would try anyplace that works with leather goods…even a shoe smith might be able to fix it.

If I only had a dollar, I would see if I could get a bag of rice. If I could scrape together a few more pennies, I could get a small head of garlic and/or a small fresh jalapeño for flavoring. It's not a serving of vegetables, but it's something! I'd hopefully have a few odds and ends in the pantry/fridge for more flavoring, and maybe a little something/fridge in the pantry to go with it. Believe me. I've been there!! xo

A box of pasta for me. One of my go to recipes back before I started stockpiling. At that time I did have a box of bow tie pasta, Caesar dressing, and a can of tuna. Then some times I’ll also take some orzo, an egg, some butter, minced onion, and top with salsa.

Delgrosso tomato products (Sloppy Joe you saw) are made in my area of Pennsylvania. I buy it because it is affordable and tastes better than Prego, Rague, or Hunts, in our opinion. Nice to see it in stores farther away.
We had someone break into our car too. 99% sure it was our neighbors but didn't have the video proof that the police wanted just to question them. A month later they were caught at another home in the neighborhood and linked to other homes which gave the 2 they had felony charges as repeat offenders. Still didn't get any of our stuff back however. Tools are very very expensive and many were gifts from my husband's father to him, so not replaceable. So jealous of the deals you have in your area. Do to Celiac we have to eat gluten free and ready to eat or snack type things are never stocked. When I do find something, it's 3 times more expensive than the regular. Whoever finds the Blessing Box items will be singing your praises I'm sure!
I dread driving too now. The older I get the more of a hassle it is for me. Several vehicles got broken into in our church parking lot several years ago. We now have surveillance cameras and a security team that monitor the church parking lot. We haven’t had any problems since. The Knorr bouillon is fantastic! I make up a couple of cups and add either flour or cornstarch to thicken for gravy. We like it better than the envelopes of gravy mix.

When I went to Memphis on vacation to my cousin's house.We went to Kroger and I was floored at the prices and 9¢ tax on a dollar for food was crazy.I live in Michigan and we have never paid tax on any food in my 64 year's.And everyone was upset when we went from 4¢ tax on all other products to 6¢.But after going to Tennessee,we have got it so much better in that aspect.
In the last couple of years, I have bought 3 Vera Bradley purses at yard sales for a dollar or two each, They were in like new condition. I just wash and dry them with my other laundry. I have one nice, small purse for church or special occasions.

Furnace was out yesterday during our first Wisconsin snow (brother in law was able to repair), landline and wifi out today (eventually fixed by a reboot from AT&T), I smashed my head on the corner of the computer table looking at our modem (bag of frozen peas and a couple of Tylenol worked) and friend I saw two days ago has Covid. I am waiting for a frozen pasty to be done. Very popular in the UP of Michigan. A combo of hamburger, potatoes, onions and rutabagas in a pie crust. Check it out. I bet the guys would love it. Your Dollar Tree has so much more variety in food than ours have in rural western Pennsylvania. I did get lucky this week and get some snack foods (cheese balls, tortillas, canned potato chips, and marshmallow candy) at DT for 50 cents each. The manager told me that she checks all of the food items at the end of the month, and discounts everything that's close to date. I actually like stale cheese balls, so I was happy!

Furnace was out yesterday during our first Wisconsin snow (brother in law was able to repair), landline and wifi out today (eventually fixed by a reboot from AT&T), I smashed my head on the corner of the computer table looking at our modem (bag of frozen peas and a couple of Tylenol worked) and friend I saw two days ago has Covid. I am waiting for a frozen pasty to be done. Very popular in the UP of Michigan. A combo of hamburger, potatoes, onions and rutabagas in a pie crust. Check it out. I bet the guys would love it. I love driving because it gives me freedom to do and go wherever I want without depending on anyone else. That being said, hubby almost always drives for family outings 😂 and long trips

Your Dollar Tree has so much more variety in food than ours have in rural western Pennsylvania. I did get lucky this week and get some snack foods (cheese balls, tortillas, canned potato chips, and marshmallow candy) at DT for 50 cents each. The manager told me that she checks all of the food items at the end of the month, and discounts everything that's close to date. I actually like stale cheese balls, so I was happy!
We had a Food Pantry truck come to my town and I was the only one that went to get anything. I couldn't believe it.

I don't know about your area but in my area I have a lot of nice purses at the Goodwill or salvation army almost all the time.
