- His Holiness the Dalai Lama joins in two discussions on "Robotics, Telepresence and Artifical Intelligence" and "Sickness, Aging and Health" at De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam, Netherlands on September 15, 2018.
You can live without technology but its difficult to live without compassion.
I think we are living to develope virtues.compassion is an important one without a doubt.
Technology helps. Without love and compassion one is not normal. Everyone needs this. Technology only tool for improvement. Also can be used to destroy and dehumanize. One then must be very careful. Love the Buddhists. Of course I love everyone.
Compassion is in our DNA. Just keep practice practice practice compassion and kindness that is all. 😊🌸

@@aritromunsi2445 there are so many teachings and scriptures of buddha but if you squeeze them all together, it comes to two things "Compassion & Interdependent" His holiness recommended Shantideva's book called Bodhicharya Avatara. Shantideva's exposition of how to engage in the conduct of a bodhisattva་.
For the Interdependent he recommended The Madhyamakavatara, Chandrakirti's Introduction to the Middle Way, text on the middle way view by Chandrakirti. But to study this complicated philosophy first you need to learn buddhist basics.
There are four tenents in buddhist philosophy. Lower to higher level of philosophy.

I’m a Bhudist with different teachings from HH Dalai Lama.we’re Hinayana,but HH Dalai Lama is Mahayana.But we understand his teachings. The teachings of Bhudha is mainly about the internal not external. For example even you have very very sofisticate technology it not guarantees that it will brings happiness to humanity.
His holiness is a tibetan Buddhist. Geluk to be more specific.
Not Hinayana. It is Theravada

I won't be able to get to watch the entirety of this video for a while, but I look forward to it. In the meantime, the initial meeting between Tilly and His Holiness, The Dalai Lama was very sweet. It was also clearly explained to Tilly that every now and then, The Dalai Lama might have to consult his personal aide during points of their conversation which might cut into what Tilly had to say. Tilly shows as much patience as His Holiness himself, and it is most heartlifting.

In buddhism, the topic of making lifespans longer or even permanent is totally paradox, life according to buddhism is endless since beginningless time, reincarnating in successive life forms. If you meditate properly for a veeeery long time doing tibetan yogi practices, rebirth feels like changing clothes, so focus on the permanent and not on an impermanent body. Besides, meditation has great benefits afterall.
And the idea that life is just in only one body is somehow bringing up the idea to make body lifespan permanent. Life allready is permanent (most dont notice because theyre not conscious of reincarnation process, whereas Dalai Lama is), but not attatched to a body.

Read his books to understand, you find his teaching hard to understand because he is actually explains whole 2600 years old wisdom in just few hours. Of course that is quite not easy task like F= ma in physic.
