ive got an awful lot of vinyl that im simply dreading ripping! ive got a Pioneer PLX-500-K Direct Drive USB and ive noticed a hell of difference with vinyl rips when ive dropped them in to my sets. Is this RX11 really the answer? Its expensive for what i want but doesnt other apps like Mixed in key Platinum notes do the same thing? btw ive not used MIK Platinum yet nor ripped from the PLX-500-K, the rips ive used are vinyl rips from 'other' download sites (and yes i have the original 12"s) thanks...
@@DaveCeeRocker I dont think MIK Platinum is anything like Izotope RX. RX is specifically for restoration, not for 'enhancing' like Platinum is supposed to be. I've never tried Platinum but it seems dubious to me.
@@Elliott.Revell For pops and clicks I use an old version of Wavelab, v6.11, and the inbuilt waveform repair tool. I don't usually have hiss on my vinyl, I'd call that surface noise.. I try to not buy noisy vinyl like that. But I think Izotope RX would be good for that, you can use a bit of silent moment to train it I've heard. But, I feel like there's always a risk with these kinds of tools, that you might remove some high frequency content when doing the hiss removal. So I've never done it. I thought about it for some cassette tapes, but I ended up getting someone to rip on a high end Nakamichi (CR-7) and surprisingly the hiss was really quite low, so I just left it. But I might mess around with it. Hiss will be throughout so you can easily get the clip from the start or end of the record lead in / run out. Crackle and pops, you got to go through manually and fix EVERY pop. But you can see it on the waveform usually, and if not see it, you're going to hear it. It's time consuming. But it's better quality to do manually than some automated process which can screw up if you have complicated music that might sound like clicks for some sounds.
For the future of Dj entertainment I would really like for someone to work with companies who have interactive projector equipment for games and life like characters. It would be nice to have celebrities of choice interact with the guests. That idea I think would really change the game for the Dj entertainment business. I could do a different show every weekend with endless possibilities with the included technologies we have today.
Exclusively for stem separation is it worth the price compared to ripX? It looks powerful, but not sure I would get the value from it when I have ripX.
I would like TRAKTOR to incorporate some the new of features of RX11 tools thats been mentioned. What I really want is a feature in TRAKTOR besides the stems feature is the ability to fix tracks in TIDAL what ever I stream them. Basically enhancing some of the audio for the listeners ear before I play them. Some old tracks doesn't sound great as others even when streamed. I think the feature should be available right before a gig during the analyzation process for bpm's and key info or as its dropped in a deck of choice.
@@digitaldjtips I do think izotope is likely 'better' but the quality of life of little things we are likely used to, Lil middle click dragging, deselecting, selecting, etc, is just so great then the rx interface to me, it's like blender to unity
@@gavinbroughton old FHG and similar encoders, even at 320cbr, sound terrible.. there's no way to restore lost data, which is what you are doing by creating 128cbr mp3 even nowadays with higher quality encoders. There are better software for vocal isolation. I use RX for cleaning up old vinyl I am currently digitising. it’s absolutely amazing!

Can you recommend any good tutorials in how to remove crackle and hiss if there is no clip of just the crackle to train denoiser

The day the fusion with iZotope was announced I've been waiting for their stems implementation into Traktor software.
We all have!
Love iZotope RX! Absolutely essential for dialogue editing and clean up, but it’s so good for music rebalancing (pre-stems era hehe)
Hey Joey! We're enjoying the dialogue cleaning up too
thanks for your video, is there a training ( formation ) for these tool? on the web? Thanks a lot
Sounds like you know more about Traktor and Izotope which you can't reveal due to an NDA 😅. I'm excited for this 🎉🎉
No, not at all. Just it seems SOOOO obvious.
This is semi unrelated, but stems are working again on Tidal Djay Pro!
Yes, at a price of course!

Can't it also deal with background/surface noise in vinyl and hiss in cassettes, and other audio repair and restoration tools?
Yes it can
I am using Ai to stem, but for the dirty work, I recently swapped to spectralayers rather than rx10, I just find the interface waaayyyy better
Thanks for the tip, we'll check it out

Nope
Cool
I wonder; can it make old 128kbps MP3s sound like 320kpbs?
lol that's hillarious

No, but it could definitely improve their quality superficially
