    Haney's money making schemes were priceless and always good for a laugh! But then, it's one of the very few shows that EVERY character could make you laugh in his (or her) own special way! Oh, and we can't forget Arnold. :) Nice post DJ!

    It's lines like the one at 1:15 that make me love this show as much as I do... Mr. Haney : "now with our hundred dollar protection plan, we guarantee the witness will PROBABLY live until the trial..." The way Mr. Haney says that cracks me up every time...so does the look on Mr. Douglas' face and his response, in which he is cut off mid sentence, of course...and at 2:22 "of all the..." 😁

    Just like 'Seinfeld' was the best at what it did, 'Green Acres' is to. Pure zanniness! There's a little of that in all of us. This is timeless!

    Mr. Haney, the biggest shyster in sitcom history. He was hilariouls. The casting on this show was perfect. Haney, Kimball, the Ziffels, Drucker, Alf and Ralph etc.

    When my dad was back in the military he had a First Class who use to work for him, they called him Mr. Haney, he said that guy had something for every occasion, all he needed was the accent and about 20 extra pounds on him he would have been a shoe in for Haney in a remake of Green Acres.

    Most TV shows on You Tube are just clips. You have to buy DVDs of shows in order to see the entire ep. Used to be, all shows on You Tube were shown in full, from starting theme to the end.

    I'm sure back in the 1960s there were people around like Mr. Haney in real life that would talk 🦜 up a good sales pitch and sell their so called goods that wouldn't last. Back then it was a comedy and his role was funny😂.With today's generation with Scammers being out there people like Mr. Haney wouldn't last long out there.

    As much I loved Green Acres, it had pretty much run its course by the final season. They were recycling a lot the same gags and had just couldn't top what they had accomplished in earlier season in terms of the surreal and zany humor. Season 6 wasn't that good. I think it would have gotten canceled even without the so-called rural purge.

    • @djhutcherson6761
      @djhutcherson6761  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    • @djhutcherson6761
      @djhutcherson6761  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@steve2474 the last two episodes were basically just pilot episodes for two new shows the network was trying to promote. The 2nd to last episode was set at a hotel in Hawaii where Lisa & Oliver had a room reserved, and was mainly centered on the hijinks of the hotel owner's daughter. Lisa & Oliver were hardly in the episode very much at all.
      For the very last episode, titled "The Ex-Secretery", here is the plot summary from imdb.com for that one - "Oliver contacts Carol, his one-time secretary, to find out where she'd had his watch repaired years earlier. In this pilot for a proposed series, Carol now works for a domineering California realtor. She prevents her boss from being conned by a man that Oliver had tried to indict back in New York."

      @djhutcherson6761  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me, the last real episode of the show (the last episode that was centered on an actual character or characters from the show and was not a pilot for another new show) was Season 6 Episode 24, "Lisa The Psychologist".
      Here's the episode summary for that one, from imdb.com - "Oliver takes a night course in organic farming at the state college while Lisa studies psychology. After just three classes, everyone in Hooterville is running to "Doctor Lisa" to analyze their problems and give advice. Despite all of Oliver's bellyaching about her not being a doctor, she's soon "saved the life" of Hank Kimball, Sam Drucker, Arnold the Pig, and a quacking goat with an identity problem."

      @steve2474 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@djhutcherson6761 Ahh yes. I didn't realize that those were the final two episodes. I enjoyed the Hawaiian Honeymoon episode, not the Ex-Secretary one. I think it was common for CBS to use existing shows as a springboard to spinoff new programs (GA after all was a spinoff of Petticoat Junction and The Jeffersons and Maude of All in the Family and Good Times of Maude). These two just didn't happen to work out though I thought the Hawaiian one had potential.
