Question, something I've been wondering but can't fully put to the test. Do you believe the changes to mastery will be stronger then versatility? Don't forget t that a number of ret talents are either holy strike or radiant damage. Infact herald of the sun is full radiant. Plus embellishments, cantrip, and trinket procs. Sure increased mastery is nice and the proc is semi decent. 100k chance is less then a normal shadowflame embellishment crit atm. Bur vers still affects everything and both holystrike and radiant damage.
Yes im pretty sure mastery will surpass versatility currently all ret paladin damage is boosted by mastery (its holy, holystrike or radiant), in the beta doing some math 1% of damage is equal to 780 versatility stat and 1% of holy damage gain from mastery is 466 mastery stat, that means that mastery is 40% more efficient at giving us damage not only that, mastery also comes with a damage proc that is around 2-3% of your overall damage and will only get better the more mastery you get because the damage and chance scale with it, even if cantrips scale with vers their damage would have to be incredibly high to compeat with our paladin damage scaling as a whole
@@LightbladeGaming yes but holystrike isn't just holy, it's physical, and vers boosts both. Same as radiant, it's fire and holy. And retsastery only boosts holy. So point for point it might be less. Bit it's also boosting both damage types and not just one. Now templars big hitting seems to atm be holy damage and not holy strike. So mastery might be stronger for Templar, but atm herald is all radiant, making vers a stronger stat.
@@JohnThompson-mt9nt when a spell has different schools of magic vers just buffs the spell as a whole not depending on how many types that spell has so a holystrike spell will only ever get 1% from vers not 2% for being half holy and half physical, for radiant damage the same mastery will always buff the total damage of the spell regarless of half being fire
UPDATE: Some trinkets already changed in Beta but most are still the same
