Maybe I'm too much of an idealist, but so many times in this series, I wanted to see someone own their mistakes, admit them publicly, and survive doing so. Even Daniel's let me down.
Bubbles was one that owned his mistakes but that’s much of the point of The Wire. When McNulty starts drinking again and at the bar and he mimicks command “It’s a new day Jimmy…. Nothing fucking changes…..” Own mistakes? Why…. Noone else does☹️
If they own the mistakes, they make themselves look worse and other people will look better. Then, their career can take a hit. Such is the world of politics...
Closest to do that is Colvin; the only thing he didn’t do was publicly admit his fallacy with Hamsterdam, but he owned up to it and informed others of what he was up to; and I think he ended up gaining better blessings in the end
this whole arc explains why the war on drugs continue. Hamsterdams real impact on the rest of the neighborhoods, the drop in crime, police with time to do actual police work come second to aesthetics, politics, and power.
If I was a cop I’d love to know a guy like bunny shit he could’ve taught me something about policing but in the end politics the freaking politics🤦🏻♂️.

That's how the real world is. That's why this show never won an Emmy. Too honest
