I cannot begin to express how excited I was to find this. I sat through a really sad demonstration today - being kind. I was so frustrated after it. Then I did a quick search and found this! Wow!!!!!!
Thanks for such a well-organized, clear and informative video! You shown me a tool I had honestly forgotten about. Now I'm ready to take my use of forms back to the office. I'm excited to use these tips!
Hey, This's a definitive guide on Office Forms. But nowhere you've shown how to collect the email address without filling manually! Ideally this should be the most important feature to collect responses from the users.
It would be great if Microsoft Forms offered the users the option to create folders in order to classify and organize all our questionnaires. Thanks for the video...!
This was super informative. I got a ton of tips to use with my classes. Fav tip of all was number 25. Being able to view a video and check on comprehension at the same time is brilliant! :)
Love this!!!!!! Super helpful summary for our upcoming MIE training session over the weekend!! Keep up the fantastic work you and your team are doing!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Amazing video! So excited to use this. I had 3 questions as a noob to all this. 🚴♂️1. If you had a question about distance can you add a drop down box to let the user select units next to their answer (ie mm, inches metres, feet, miles, km etc ?) 👨👩👧👦 2. Can you add data validation to an answer ie between 10 and 60 is allowed and flash up a warning if outside the limits? 🚦3. Can you set a formula based on answers in forms to take the responder to most relevant next question (or end the form) based on where the answer falls in a range of figures. For instance the responder types in their actual age and if its between 10-17 end form, if aged 18-35 goto q4, if aged 36 to 60 goto q5 etc?
Thank you so much! Got to learn few new things today from you What if I want to get geo location of the person filling out the forms?. How do I do it??
Great video! Hoping you can answer this question. I created a question with options for the answer (class name). I want to sort them in alphabetical order. I did not see this option but was able to manually reorder the options using the dots on the left. Do you know if there is a way to automatically sort them alphabetically rather than having to move them manually? Thank you!
Thank you for your informative videos on using Microsoft Forms! I have a specific question regarding Microsoft Forms: I need to create a demographics profile for a group of 15-20 people. Instead of having these individuals fill out the form themselves, I want to enter the information myself for each person. Is it possible to set up a Microsoft Form where I, as the form creator, can input and store the demographic data for multiple people? If so, could you guide me on how to do this effectively? Looking forward to your guidance
Thanks so much. Lots of great information here! Quick (or perhaps not so quick question): If I've created a Forms quiz/survey, how can I upload that into a specific Teams meeting in real time when I'm conducting a meeting/lecture/workshop?
Thanks Mike, such a helpful video! Do you know if polls/surveys can be auto scheduled? For example, if I run a weekly group (same time each week) and am looking for weekly feedback post group? Thanks for your help.
Super helpful - Thank you!! Can you share the platform you used to create this training? I love the zoom feature to demo the screen action. Thank you Mike.
Hi Mike, this is awesome video..one of the best on Teams form...thanks a lot, Just need one help I have created a form for new joiner but when he submitted I got some weird columns in excel sheet this is bit strange, how to overcome this issue...please suggest
Great video Mike, thanks so much! Just one question. If I created a form within an excel file for someone else and I want to share it, should I send the excel file or the form as template? I want the person to have the form and be able to the see information in real time in excel. Thanks
Great tips. Already started using it. Very intuitive. Question: Is there a way to brand the form. Specifically, what are the specs for the header image? Can RGB values be selected for the header color? How about adding an image to the bottom? Great product and quite powerful for collaboration.
Hi Mike, thanks for the great video. Are there any plans to be able to add pre-prepared forms into the chat in Teams? When teaching it would be much easier if we could pre-prepare our polls and quizzes rather than trying to type this as we teach.
Great Video. I have always used Google Forms so I am just learning this one. Which do you feel is better or are they essentially the same? Also, why does the excel form download (responses) add extra feedback columns that repeat your questions when there are no feedback questions in the form? I did not find anything in settings or any options for this.
Fabulous introduction into Forms! Can't wait to try it. Once a form is created within Excel it is obvious that it is being stored in an Excel document stored on SharePoint. When you create a form within the Forms app in order to access the responses you have to go back into Forms then Responses. Curious on where that raw data is actually being stored and in what format? Same question with PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams. An Excel file or CSV file? Is the only place to access the Responses from within Forms?
Great video - thank you! Is there any way to tighten up the spacing? We are making a form where we have to enter a persons name and address and the form gets really long when there is a line devoted to things like state/prov, Untit #, phone # when normally these would all be in one row on a form.
Hi Mike Thanks for this helpful video. Do you know a way to have a multiple answers table in the form? Like a Likert with more than one answer per line. Thanks
Thank you so much! It is very helpful. How do I change to multiple answers on the liked the table questions type? I like to get multiple answers on liked questions type. There is only an option for multiple answers just for choice questions.
These are GREAT! BUT... I do have a question. I am creating a form to pre-authorize travel. Question #8 is Estimated Total Cost of Trip [ based on 9, 10, & 11 ]. Is there a way to enter a dollar amount in each #9, 10, and 11 and then have them total to line 8? Thank you.
Great video and really helpful Mike. When you showed uploading a file can that Form be shared with people outside the organization to upload a file? Also, is there any way to verify data in a form? For example, what if you want to verify an email address by a user entering it twice?
Great tips! I like the tip on inserting form in excel to get real time updates. Is there a way to do that in reverse? To have an existing form and have it integrated in excel, not via download the response in excel.
Hi Mike, I want to create a simple form/quiz, which has a series of questions weighing certain points with 3 options as answers to the question - Yes, No and Not Applicable. What I specifically want is when Yes is selected as an answer the question earns the points, if Not applicable is selected the question becomes invalid in the total points calculation and if No is selected then the submitter has a provision to comment (describe why it was No) I hope you will be able to help
Thanks Mike for the information. Do you have a quick and easy way to change the background colors on the Likert scale? It is hard to read with the grey background.
Hi Mike, thanks for the tips and trick, I was wondering whether is it possible to make the form as a template? so I am able to use or copy the same template in a different teams channel. thank you very much. looking forward to hearing from you
Thank you! Is MS Forms a separate purchase from Office 365? I don't see it as an option on the plan comparison page. Chat support doesn't seem to be working.

Excellent film. Widely informative and told concisely. This is must-watch recommendation, as I try to explain the benefits of M365 to a cautious, recently introduced workforce. Thank you Mike.

What a good video, I have a concern for a problem that I have, I need that when a user has already filled out the form the message that appears is "Your response has already been sent, This form only admits one response per person." My question is if this information can be customized so that a link to another page appears
From my understanding of what you asking, I would just paste the other link in my customized Thank you message, found in settings. You can find your settings within the 3 dots under your profile pic (top right).
This is a great video - thanks Mike. However, I'd like to know how someone can print their completed form after/just before submitting it. If I do Ctrl+P at the end, to create a pdf, it just creates one page. Is it possible to save the whole of the completed form as a pdf please. Simon

@Mike Tholfsen This feature is severely limited in my Office 365 Home Premium subscription desktop version. I cannot create the custom questions you entered into your poll, only binary questions: "approve/reject", "yes/no/maybe", etc. Microsoft is slipping back into their old habits, arbitrarily excluding useful features from normal paying customers. Wow! I thought we they had finally caught up to the 21st century. I was wrong!
Hi Mike -I have created a question with choice options Strongly agree, agree, disagree and strongly agree - How can I add a feature in that question so that my users can add comments in relation to the question. I could do this with Survey monkey
Oh no, I cant believe you covered an entire course for just a couple of minutes!!!! This is marvelous!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
I cannot begin to express how excited I was to find this. I sat through a really sad demonstration today - being kind. I was so frustrated after it. Then I did a quick search and found this! Wow!!!!!!
Thanks. MS needs to add signature option on the forms.
Wow flipping awesome!😯 I have been using MS Forms now and I learnt A LOT! Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Great video - particularly appreciate that you took the time to add a table of contents so I could skip to the tips new to me: thanks!
Awesome, thank you!

Tip 21 was great! Sometimes I forget to look for cross-app features.

Hello! Im learned a lot...and now i have new ideas. Thanks for the video, super cool and informative.

Super Tips on Forms! Thanks a lot Mike, many are going to be very useful to me in my work! 😊👍
Great, glad to hear that!
This is awesome - going to make keeping all parts of an assignment/school work in the same place
Informative video! FYI: formal name for a "dot, dot, dot" menu is an "ellipsis" menu.
Yeah, I know. It's more fun to say "dot dot dot" and it also translates better to other countries 😄
Great video Mike, thanks so much! Just one question. If I created a form within an excel file for someone else and I want to share it, should I send the excel file or the form as template? I want the person to have the form and be able to the see information in real time in excel. Thanks

Hi Mike, thanks for the great video. Are there any plans to be able to add pre-prepared forms into the chat in Teams? When teaching it would be much easier if we could pre-prepare our polls and quizzes rather than trying to type this as we teach.
Setting a pre-made quiz / form as an assignment is a workaround for this.

Also, why does the excel form download (responses) add extra feedback columns that repeat your questions when there are no feedback questions in the form? Great stuff. For translation, will it in future translate the questions and possible answers? Also, translation of responses in other languages?
Yup. All possible with Immersive Reader
very useful and comprehensive. Nice job!
Thank you!
Thanks Mike, very helpful 👍
BTW, to show I was paying attention in class, I doubt you'll get any takers for "Buger" Heaven as a lunch venue! 🤢😄

@@MikeTholfsen Thanks for response, but what to you mean buy Forms backend?
Also, what format are Forms created outside of Excel?
This video is very helpful. Thanks

Great overview, Mike. I'm curious to know if there is a feature that allows me to embed a link into a question.
This video was immensely helpful.
Excellent - thanks for the great work!
thanks for your help mike!
Thank you for these tips. Can you share how to generate certificates from office form?

That is possible in Excel web
Wish you could move the columns and stuff once in excel. The endless columns flowing to the right is a killer.
