Thanks for the tutorial. I finally figured out how to take a short video and view it on my laptop. Not a long video but I at least got 10 seconds of one plus the audio for now. Considering I've owned this little camera for about 6 months. Again thanks.
@@JS-yv8ks The player that Ur using is missing the codex. The video recording is in AVI format. U need a player that is able to play AVI files. Either u download the codex for Ur current player or u can download Divx player. It should be able to play the recording. Or u can use a video converter app to convert the AVI Files to other format that Ur player can support.
@@JS-yv8ks remove the SD card from the cam. Use a SD card reader to copy the videos. Don't play or access the video from the cam directly it will cause errors.
Thanks for a very good video. Of the 12 I have seen this is the most sensible and informative. The 'TIMERSET' text document instructions were the best but could have had more, but yours is still the best. Hopefully you can source better software for holding text on screen for the appropriate period of time.
Ur most welcome, and thanks for the feedback. The cam is made in China, and manufacturers will just use google Translate from Mandarin to English, and the end results is Chinglish. Unless u know some basic Mandarin roughly will know the meaning. lol

You need to install a micro SD card before you can turn it on. If don't have SD card install it will auto off. You won't be able to on it. There will be a indicator light at the bottom. If it's on.

I have got it working, but it's hard to tell when it's on and off since there's no light on... but I guess if there was a light on it would give the tale away. You have to really look out for the flashing lights to know it's on, but when the lights have stopped there is nothing to show it's recording. I'm used to my digital recorders which have a light showing that it's recording. Haha. I will get used to this, I'm sure.
the lights will be off during recoding as to not letting people know that you are recording them. because the blacking lights will darwi attention to the device

Sorry... The license free software I am using does not have a option to adjust text time. If you can suggest any better video editing software do let me know. In the meantime pls pause the vid to read the text. To set the time plug in ur SD card in ur pc. There's a text/memo pad file in the card. Open and edit the time and date than save the file and insert back in the cam.
There's a "Memo Pad" file in the micro sd card. Take out the card and insert it into ur laptop. open up the file and change the date and time. Save the file and put it back into the cam.
I just got it, and plugged in to charge the blue light never came only the yellow light and was on for a minute and then off. What's the meaning 🤔 thanks
There are many Different manufactures making and selling this cam. Some manufactures put different color led in the cam. The led colors might be opposite sides too depending on the manufactures. Some of the cam comes with just single color led on both sides either blue or yellow lights.

Yes... it will record automatically onto sd card after you press the button on top. You don't need to install any app for it to work. Just press the button to record and to stop the recording. Remove the SD card from the cam. Use a micro SD card adapter to plug in Ur pc. Copy the video on Ur PC. Don't use move file. If there's any error while moving u will loose the video file. The video will be corrupted and Cannot be recovered. Also Don't play from the SD card directly. The video will be in AVI format videos. If Ur player can't play it, you can convert the video to other formats to play or u can download a video player that can view AVI format videos.

Yes... If you want to just charge the cam you need to take out the SD card. If you leave the card in the cam while you charge, it will auto go into change and record mode. (Charging and recording at the same time) You can use this method by using a power bank to extend your recoding time.
the "reset" button is for you to use when the camera freezes or u can't get it to work right. You can either hit the reset button and off and on back the camera to reset or restart it.

This is not meant as a criticism of you, but you guys have got to get someone who is COMPLETELY FLUENT IN ENGLISH to write the instructions that come with the unit. As is now, it took more than an hour to decipher the step by step process of recording 1080 video. The instructions do not explain that different manufacturers have different lights appearing. Mine has both the yellow and red on when fully charged. It doesn't explain this in the video either. Please guys.

Many different manufacture is producing this camera. they will use different color LED blubs. its ok if the color is different as long as you can charge and use the camera.
Its the same with all the cameras, including phone cameras. Poor lighting will have poor quality videos. Unless you use fill in light or its a infrared camera.

I have the same T189 Camera and I was watching your videos and I was trying to follow your video but when I push and hold the ON/OFF button, blue light and the yellow light flash one time and they both light turn off at one time. That tells me that something is not right. So please help me, what am I doing wrong?
Can't detect the SD card. Or u didn't put in a SD card. SD card support up to 32gb only. If u put a SD card and still having same problems. Try formatting the card on Ur pc before putting it in. If still cannot turn on, try other card, sometimes that particular card cannot be supported. Is still cannot the cam might be defective. Get a replacement or refund from Ur seller

Actually is quite simple to operate. The short version is just press and hold the top button to on. Then press and release the top button to start record. Press and release the top button to stop recording. Press and hold the top button to off the camera.
When the cam encounter error during saving the video file after recording it will stop to record. Try to use a 32gb class 10, higher speed card. If still having the same problems, most likely the cam is defective. Get a replacment or refund from your seller.

Normally the Micro SD card is not inclued with the cam. Unless the seller you bought it from sells in a bundle with the Sd Card, of course the set will be at a higher price.
It depends on the size of Ur SD card. 32gb around 1 hour. Battery lasts 1+ hours If u plug in a power bank it can run longer. Video will be on loop recording

Hi... I got one from ebay. It worked well for one hour. Then next time I try to charge it, the blue and yellow light started to blink but not as the manual says that they would be steady. And now when I click 'ON' button the blue light comes just for 3 seconds and disappear. And I simply cannot record videos at all. Even the computer will not recognize the device. Please can someone help me? Thanks.
Try resetting it first by pressing on the R button, please refer to the instruction vid. If that fails, take out the SD card, see if ur pc recognise the card, sometimes the card got corrupted, Anyway just format it to be sure. Camera can support up to 32gb SD card only. The blue and yellow light can be on the opposite side, sometimes it just won't blink during charging, depending on the manufacturer that produces it.

The video player that you use is missing the codex to play AVI format video if ur viewing the video on ur phone, try download a "all video player" from google play, there are many types of video player. try a few see which one works for you. or you can download a video converter and convert the AVI files to any files that your phone can support. if ur viewing the video on ur pc, windows 10 build in media player can play AIV files.
i can only hear the audio . i cannot see the video. i had the toggle down for the lens is open. i recorder 13 videos and i get the same thing..can you help me figure this out?
It could be 1 of this problem 1) You didn't open the lens cover when recording 2) the video player that your using doesn't have the proper codex to play the video 3) The camera lens is defective

Take out the Micro SD card and put it into your phone, copy the video files that you need onto your phone internal memory. You can't send through email because the files is too big, you need to compress it into "Zip Files" before attaching it in email. Hi... thanks for the comment. this cam does not need any SIM Card to work. U need to install a Micro SD card only. It cant support any SIM Card. To remove the SD Card just open the cover at the bottom and pull out with ur finger nail. Download the vids to ur laptop or phone to view. Use a all format video player to view the files. Its in AVI format. Hope tat helps.
When there's a error during recording or saving the recorded file, sometime it will stop functioning. Best is to get a class 10 micro SD card to cut down the chances of video file not saving properly.

You can slow down the payback speed in TH-cam by clicking on the bottom right corner settings Manu, "playback speed" or u can press the space bar to pause the video to read and you can also press windows + PrtSc button to take a screenshot for important info that u need.

Ur missing the codex. Download and install the missing codex for AVI format videos. You can download Divx player to view the videos on Ur pc. On a Android phone download and install "all video player" got may to choose from in play store. Choose the one that is suitable to u.
This cam can support up to 32Gb, video is in louping recording mode. Meaning it will continue to record videos by replacing the old files with new ones.
I like TH-cam, really I do. It allows for 'monkey see, monkey do', but I was brought up on the written word and technical manuals. Would someone please translate their crappy operation instructions into standard English? I could print it out and refer to it without going to You tube.

Sorry about that. at the time when the video was made, the free video editing app didn't have the option of setting the text display time. Some people say no music is boring some people say music is distracting. If u don't like the music Just hit the mute button on the play bar bottom left. U can press the space bar to pause the video to read the instructions. Some people like to take screenshots of the instructions to view later.

Hi... Thanks allot for the comment. Glad the video helps. For this camera most of the time people complain about getting black image videos and only got audio, coz they forgotten to open up the cover on the camera lens or they accidentally close it while taking vids.

Many manufactures made the same cam. some of the cams does not function as it suppose to. like when you set it to 1020 setting, it does not work and still recording at low resolution.

You can pause the video to read the description. Some people say no music is boring, some people say music is annoying.... sorry that i can't please every one. Maybe when i have more time i can make 1 video without music and 1 video with music. In the mean time you can turn down the volume or off the volume on the left side of the slider beside the play button.

Most likely you got a defective camera, get a refund or replacement from your seller. On the side Note, It does not help your situation at all when you leave the negative comment on TH-cam. You should leave the comment on the sellers website. You sould email or contact the seller to complain about the camera that he sold you. if you cant get hold of the seller, in future you should buy from a website that allows you to return or get a refund if the camera is defective. i did the text for the video. as long as you can understand the meaning is fine. i dont use long sentences to save space on the video and to cut down reading time. and what do you mean by transfer data top computer? what your trying to say is transfer the video files to a table top computer? you can read the micro sd card by using a micro sd card adapter, plug into ur PC and copy the files onto ur desktop.

You need to install a micro SD card before you can turn it on.
If don't have SD card install it will auto off. You won't be able to on it.
There will be a indicator light at the bottom. If it's on.

I have got it working, but it's hard to tell when it's on and off since there's no light on... but I guess if there was a light on it would give the tale away. You have to really look out for the flashing lights to know it's on, but when the lights have stopped there is nothing to show it's recording. I'm used to my digital recorders which have a light showing that it's recording. Haha. I will get used to this, I'm sure.
the lights will be off during recoding as to not letting people know that you are recording them. because the blacking lights will darwi attention to the device

To set the time plug in ur SD card in ur pc. There's a text/memo pad file in the card. Open and edit the time and date than save the file and insert back in the cam.

There are many Different manufactures making and selling this cam. Some manufactures put different color led in the cam. The led colors might be opposite sides too depending on the manufactures. Some of the cam comes with just single color led on both sides either blue or yellow lights.

The playback speed is controlled by the player you use. Please check the player playback speed or you can try using other player.

Yes... it will record automatically onto sd card after you press the button on top. You don't need to install any app for it to work. Just press the button to record and to stop the recording.
The video will be recorded onto the sd card.

Remove the SD card from the cam. Use a micro SD card adapter to plug in Ur pc.
Copy the video on Ur PC. Don't use move file. If there's any error while moving u will loose the video file. The video will be corrupted and Cannot be recovered. Also Don't play from the SD card directly.
The video will be in AVI format videos. If Ur player can't play it, you can convert the video to other formats to play or u can download a video player that can view AVI format videos.

Yes... If you want to just charge the cam you need to take out the SD card.
If you leave the card in the cam while you charge, it will auto go into change and record mode. (Charging and recording at the same time)
You can use this method by using a power bank to extend your recoding time.

the "reset" button is for you to use when the camera freezes or u can't get it to work right. You can either hit the reset button and off and on back the camera to reset or restart it.

This is not meant as a criticism of you, but you guys have got to get someone who is COMPLETELY FLUENT IN ENGLISH to write the instructions that come with the unit. As is now, it took more than an hour to decipher the step by step process of recording 1080 video. The instructions do not explain that different manufacturers have different lights appearing. Mine has both the yellow and red on when fully charged. It doesn't explain this in the video either. Please guys.

This type of camera is a OEM product from China. There are many manufactures making the same cam with different quality. The LED light position, color of the lights and blinking indications is also different.
As for the Bad English instruction that comes with the camera, I am not the manufacture, you should message your seller to complain about the instructions. Chinese manufactures just copy paste the Instructions in Mandarin using Google Transalate, and you got Chinglish. You should complain to google also about the bad transalation.

its ok if the color is different as long as you can charge and use the camera.
Can it take indoor videos? Even the lighting is poor?
Its the same with all the cameras, including phone cameras. Poor lighting will have poor quality videos. Unless you use fill in light or its a infrared camera.

I have the same T189 Camera and I was watching your videos and I was trying to follow your video but when I push and hold the ON/OFF button, blue light and the yellow light flash one time and they both light turn off at one time. Can't detect the SD card. Or u didn't put in a SD card.
SD card support up to 32gb only.
If u put a SD card and still having same problems. Try formatting the card on Ur pc before putting it in.
If still cannot turn on, try other card, sometimes that particular card cannot be supported.
Is still cannot the cam might be defective. Get a replacement or refund from Ur seller

You don't need to format the SD card if its a new card. When you find its having reading and recording errors you can format it using your PC.

This is very complicated for someone who wants a simple covert ‘ spy ‘ camera
Actually is quite simple to operate. The short version is just press and hold the top button to on.
Then press and release the top button to start record.
Press and release the top button to stop recording.
Press and hold the top button to off the camera.
My device stops recording on 5th minute. And getting blue light ready position. Why?
When the cam encounter error during saving the video file after recording it will stop to record. Try to use a 32gb class 10, higher speed card. If still having the same problems, most likely the cam is defective. Get a replacment or refund from your seller.

Normally the Micro SD card is not inclued with the cam. Unless the seller you bought it from sells in a bundle with the Sd Card, of course the set will be at a higher price.

Sorry for the text time display, the free software that i am using at the time the video was taken does not have the ability to set long text display time.
Hi... I got one from ebay. It worked well for one hour. Then next time I try to charge it, the blue and yellow light started to blink but not as the manual says that they would be steady. And now when I click 'ON' button the blue light comes just for 3 seconds and disappear. And I simply cannot record videos at all. Even the computer will not recognize the device. Please can someone help me? Thanks.
Try resetting it first by pressing on the R button, please refer to the instruction vid.
If that fails, take out the SD card, see if ur pc recognise the card, sometimes the card got corrupted, Anyway just format it to be sure. Camera can support up to 32gb SD card only.
The blue and yellow light can be on the opposite side, sometimes it just won't blink during charging, depending on the manufacturer that produces it.

if ur viewing the video on ur phone, try download a "all video player" from google play, there are many types of video player. try a few see which one works for you.
or you can download a video converter and convert the AVI files to any files that your phone can support.
if ur viewing the video on ur pc, windows 10 build in media player can play AIV files.

It could be 1 of this problem
1) You didn't open the lens cover when recording
2) the video player that your using doesn't have the proper codex to play the video
3) The camera lens is defective

Take out the Micro SD card and put it into your phone, copy the video files that you need onto your phone internal memory.
You can't send through email because the files is too big, you need to compress it into "Zip Files" before attaching it in email.

Hi... thanks for the comment. this cam does not need any SIM Card to work. U need to install a Micro SD card only. It cant support any SIM Card.
To remove the SD Card just open the cover at the bottom and pull out with ur finger nail.
Download the vids to ur laptop or phone to view. Use a all format video player to view the files. Its in AVI format.

Why does time to record shut down so quickly? Can only get a few seconds.
When there's a error during recording or saving the recorded file, sometime it will stop functioning. Best is to get a class 10 micro SD card to cut down the chances of video file not saving properly.

So far that i know of the cam only support up to 32Gb SD cards. You can try 64gb see if it works.

The messages aren't on long enough to read. Would be far better with a narrative.
You can slow down the payback speed in TH-cam by clicking on the bottom right corner settings Manu, "playback speed" or u can press the space bar to pause the video to read and you can also press windows + PrtSc button to take a screenshot for important info that u need.

You can download Divx player to view the videos on Ur pc.

my camera does not record more than 30 minutes i am using a 4 GB microsd card, can this be the reason?
This cam can support up to 32Gb, video is in louping recording mode. Meaning it will continue to record videos by replacing the old files with new ones.
I like TH-cam, really I do. It allows for 'monkey see, monkey do', but I was brought up on the written word and technical manuals. Would someone please translate their crappy operation instructions into standard English? I could print it out and refer to it without going to You tube.
Most of this cheap cams are made in China. The original instructions is in Mandarin. Mainland Chinese don't really know how to write in English, they just copy paste and use google translate. The end results is what you get in the printed manual 😂

You can set the play back speed you youtube at a slower rate for you to read or pause the video to read.

Hmm, battery capacity in page English 950 mA , on the other hand in Chinese 550 mA , it is strange...
some of the manufacturers will cut the battery size to save on production cost. most probably they forgot to change the Mandarin side

We do not need music, we need explanation to the video
Some people say no music is boring some people say music is distracting.
If u don't like the music Just hit the mute button on the play bar bottom left.
U can press the space bar to pause the video to read the instructions. Some people like to take screenshots of the instructions to view later.

For this camera most of the time people complain about getting black image videos and only got audio, coz they forgotten to open up the cover on the camera lens or they accidentally close it while taking vids.

Many manufactures made the same cam. some of the cams does not function as it suppose to. like when you set it to 1020 setting, it does not work and still recording at low resolution.

The item is made in China. The original instructions is in mandarin. Not many mainland Chinese is proficient in English. So the manufacturer just copy paste Mandarin in Google Translate And out comes Goo-english in the manual 😂

What is the purpose of the music am trying to learn how to operate this piece of crap and the music is distracting
You can pause the video to read the description.
Some people say no music is boring, some people say music is annoying.... sorry that i can't please every one. Maybe when i have more time i can make 1 video without music and 1 video with music.
In the mean time you can turn down the volume or off the volume on the left side of the slider beside the play button.

The 'users manual' is a prime example of what happens when you run Chinese characters through Google Translate. Useless.
The cam is made in China. The instructions originally is in Mandarin, most of the manufactures will just google translate to English, and the end result is Chinglish instructions. LoL

none of this works, this device is utter junk.
Most likely you got a defective camera, get a refund or replacement from your seller.
On the side Note, It does not help your situation at all when you leave the negative comment on TH-cam. You should leave the comment on the sellers website. You sould email or contact the seller to complain about the camera that he sold you.
if you cant get hold of the seller, in future you should buy from a website that allows you to return or get a refund if the camera is defective. Most sellers don't check their products first before they send out. Hopes it works out for you.

i did the text for the video. as long as you can understand the meaning is fine. i dont use long sentences to save space on the video and to cut down reading time.

you can read the micro sd card by using a micro sd card adapter, plug into ur PC and copy the files onto ur desktop.
