The second song in this suite always makes me a bit somber. We had just been practicing this in band that early morning back in 1993--my friend Rosalyn Hicks played the clarinet solo on this--and I was in my next period English class with this song running through my head when our principal came over the loudspeaker and announced that an acquaintance of mine, Stacey Paul, and her sister, Brandy, had been in a terrible car accident on their way to school and that Stacey was gravely injured...and Brandy didn't make it... ☹🙁😢😭
