Ballmer forgot about people waiting for Green Cards after getting approved. That number is especially high for Indian immigrants leading to a point where legal Indian immigrants with a path to citizenship have a zero chance of actually becoming a citizen for no other reason than being born in India.
Those numbers are reported by federal agencies. It is not easy to collect. There are think tanks that are funded to work this out. Just search for think tanks and they publish their report. make sure you know which think tank you are using their data and their sides.
I think there should be some search of the benefits and drawback of immigration side by side just to illustrate to anti immigration versus pro immigration?
From the DHS website: "Most unauthorized residents either entered the United States without inspection or were admitted temporarily and stayed past the date they were required to leave" Asylum seekers are not unauthorized migrants. So much for the "unbiased"...
Unfortunately, too many people can't or don't want to have to make up their own mind and look to media and politicians to make up their mind for them. I love this type of information as well. And this may explain why the number of comments are so low, people don't know what to do when the author does not make some outlandish statement. the state of our world right now.
We would have higher birth rates if immigrantion.didn't increase housing prices and lower wages. Also, the tax burden for the children of immigrants is huge. Usually they are on Medicaid, WIC and SNAP. Generally they are behind in school and cost a lot to educate for the amount of value they add to the economy.
That's because corporations became citizens, and they have more money and say than you, because they pay the parents of those immigrant children very low wages. So they are the ones stealing from you.
If people are coming from Mexico (in particular), instead of just deporting people, why don't we actually do some economic development along our borders and affect the economies in Mexico near our borders so that people there could perhaps have an economy to rely on and maybe we could reduce "unauthorized" immigration with something other than a clearly ineffective deterrent? Good videos.
Why are Americans so sceptical about their government? Saying "what the government is up to" suggests some kind of conspiracy theory which is odd from a corporate leader.
Good observation @gilleek2 - it's very true. The government to most Americans is not very transparent, sometimes behaves capriciously, and is generally unaccountable. These are things that can and should be fixed, but very few want to take on this task.
So much research data and information is completely free and available to the american people (so far) that we don't appreciate what we do have. We can sit home and watch what's happening in Congress streamed to our living rooms. We can read every version of every bill from our personal computers. We can look up our reps' voting records from our phones. IDK.
Know of what you speak ! Income from abroad must be reported ! You must include forgein bank accounts or stuff that money in mattress or smuggle it back to us !
We need temporary workers visas that are good for 3 years and renewable. DACA kids should become naturalized citizens. These people are already part of the system as farm and construction workers. We should have a skilled labor strategy as well. More workers and consumers at the same time.
The poblem is conflating Illegal with Legal Immigration, they are not the same thing. The flood of illegals is unsustainable, harmeful to our nation and the asylum clasification is broken and must be fixed. Truth is there is no benefit to American Citizens from Illegal immigration or the misuse of the asylum claim we see so much of today. In fact today's immiration directly harms Americans regardless of race and it harms our children, middle class and poor the most. You really ok with that? If you are, then please ask yourself when the wants of foreign nationals became more important to you than the needs of Citizens. Seriously, how did you get this so twisted?
Well we scapegoat immigrants, but the fact is USA loves interfering in global politics and challenging other countries soverinty by disrupting markets to it's advantage. If you're doing well in your own country you don't leave.
The biggest issue in the US immigration systems is under funding immigration to hire many officers adjudicating cases, when this happens asylees stay, some over 10 years without a definitive answer. There should be more employees to adjudicate cases keep those who deserve it then deport the rest who don’t qualify
Simple : do not let more immigrants in than your system can handle ! No system can handle a 200% increase ! Better yet file for it in your home country, it is an option !
What people don't get is the population implosion on a global scale that is happening. We will be BEGGING for immigration over the next 10 years. Capitalism is based on growth, if we shrink our entire basis for all government spending including our own entitlements crumbles. We should be working to increase our court system to hear out the applicants and make them tax paying citizens, not throwing them out. Far better than leaving them in limbo and collecting nothing. This gives them and their family a chance to really contribute to our society.
Me, as a legal immigrant, is bound to my position with lower wages for visa support. I have bachelor in flight operation and has all the advanced pilot certificates. I've educated a lot of students for their own pilot certificate. I'm starting my masters in human factors in aviation next year. And I'm still not guaranteed to have any kind of long term work authorization. My visa permits to work for 6 years. It's a long time but limited time. Yet those people crossing who's not willing to follow rules are getting more favorable treatment of granted 'work permit' after 180days of crossing the border. How is this fair? I'm spending a big chunk of my paycheck and time researching for the legal and right way to get the citizenship but these border smugglers are making it harder for everyone who's trying to do the right thing and follow the rules.
Same here ! My wife and I paid about two thousand and waited over a year to do it the Legal way ! Would be nice to do nothing ,pay nothing and have citizenship bestowed on you !
@@chavitacanta008 I certainly understand the frustration, but I think if you looked into the lives of those that come in "illegally", you would not want to trade lives with them. The solution is to find a way to make the immigration system better.
We have groups in our society and government that supports and encourages illegal immigration. There does not seem to be an immigration plan tied to job creation. If we want a million immigrants factories and other businesses need to be added so these million immigrants don’t take jobs away from people already here. The volume of immigration needs to be controlled so towns and cities don’t go bankrupt dealing with a large influx of new people. To many Americans immigration is not controlled nor managed. Hence a backlash.
Most illegal immigration benefits someone - we should understand who, and make them pay the costs, not externalize these costs to the wider community. In the end much of these costs will be shouldered by the average consumer in slightly higher costs for products produced by these immigrants. TNSTAAFL.
So what you're saying is, we need a compromized labor force. Lol If you're the dish washer, you hate immigrants. If you're the restaurant owner, you love immigrants.
This is an interesting start to a conversation about immigration, but we should also discuss topics like how many Americans want to do the work, like farm work, that many migrants do. Most immigrants are very hard-working people, and initially, many are willing to work for less money than most Americans are willing to accept. We can blame those who hire them, but we also have to look at ourselves, those of us who benefit from paying less than we would have to pay a U.S. citizen. Most people want to stay in their home countries, so we have to discuss why people cannot earn a living wage in their home countries. Over the years, the U.S. has given many, many millions of dollars to a lot of countries. Where has all that money gone?
Short answer ; politicians pockets ! $ 30 thousand is upper middle class in Mexico ! You can live nicely on $2,000 a month ! Talking two bedroom, pool, a/c, near a beach or near center city ! Includes maid once or twice a week, pool service monthly, and internet / cable ! Mexico is picky ! You have show proof of income for temporary residency around 40 thousand a year ! We should try that here !
Intelligent man would have made a much better Presidential candidate than what was put out there. Even Biden excellent Senator and caretaker of the Nation but hardly a dynamic, brilliant leader. This guy is smart and articulate. I lived in USA with a working Visa between 2007 and 2013. I returned recently to visit your great country. The cultural changes haven't been the best. The respect to traffic rules, order, street cleaning, homeless are some of the indicators I use in my assessment. I don't manage data, but the change is easy to perceive. In some areas of Austin TX is hard to communicate in English. I have nothing against immigrants. We have plenty here in Argentina as well. Most of them hard workers and contributors. However, when these individuals start changing the culture, and "the American way", perhaps is time to race the bar. A reference may be the wester countries in Europe (France, Italy, Germany, Spain...) where inmigrants have became a big problem.
It is all about paying taxes - to me. We have doctors from other lands working as Uber drivers in the USA while ignoramuses lead us. When rich folks resist taxation the rest of us can do as we please. Stay safe.
They work Uber because the US does not recognize their accredidation for a Dr certification ! Qualifications vary from other countries ! Some times they have to take classes or get certified here !
This is a big problem in the US, the state board, you can have a certificate in California, but it's no good in Texas. You'll have to take more tests, and pay more fees.

Lifting them out of poverty with better education, funding mental health services etc... I encourage others to find out more about the Ballmer Group. They do good work.
An H1B (or TN or L etc.) doesn't directly lead to citizenship in and of itself. These visas get you into the US and working here legally, but you have limited options wrt taking a different job and, in the case of an H1B, that can only be renewed twice and after that you may be out of luck. To get citizenship, you'd need to go through the green card process which requires labor certification (not always guaranteed to succeed, especially when unemployment is high) and can be subject to country-specific quotas. Or, some people obtain citizenship through other means (marriage to a US citizen, outstanding ability, etc.). I'm guessing that's what was meant in the video...
H1b does not have path to citizenship. If you ask any immigration attorney they will tell you the same thing as Ballmer just said here. What H1b does is just buy you time to apply for the green card while working in the US legally.

That number is especially high for Indian immigrants leading to a point where legal Indian immigrants with a path to citizenship have a zero chance of actually becoming a citizen for no other reason than being born in India.
Does USAFacts have an API and serve as a data aggregator? As a software developer I am interested in how the data can be used and accessed.
Those numbers are reported by federal agencies. It is not easy to collect. There are think tanks that are funded to work this out. Just search for think tanks and they publish their report. make sure you know which think tank you are using their data and their sides.
Perhaps if we broke it down by which countries the immigrants are arriving from, it would shed light on our foreign policies.
I think there should be some search of the benefits and drawback of immigration side by side just to illustrate to anti immigration versus pro immigration?
If you're a dish washer, immigrants are a bad thing. If you own the restaurant, immigrants are a good thing.
From the DHS website: "Most unauthorized residents either entered the United States without inspection or were admitted temporarily and stayed past the date they were required to leave"
Asylum seekers are not unauthorized migrants. So much for the "unbiased"...
Hearing this with NO opinion causes a cognitive dissonance in my brain. Love it.
Unfortunately, too many people can't or don't want to have to make up their own mind and look to media and politicians to make up their mind for them. I love this type of information as well. And this may explain why the number of comments are so low, people don't know what to do when the author does not make some outlandish statement. the state of our world right now.
So disguntingly woke that you will call it unauthorized immigrants instead of ILLEGAL immigrants.
There has never been a sensible and humane border policy.
The amount of new immigrants that America should have to subsidize once they arrive = zero.
Is it just me, or does Microsoft have the best ex-CEOs?
Many seattle microsoft millionaires from the 90s went on to both start small tech businesses and be philanthropic.
Corruption from those countries
Why are Americans so sceptical about their government? Saying "what the government is up to" suggests some kind of conspiracy theory which is odd from a corporate leader.
They are ; people ! It is ; government !
IDK.
Yes, but isn't that work? Lol the American economy is based on; "how could we make life easyer for you by selling you some gadget?"
Ballmer for president
In looking at "Immigration" figures, don't forget that there are over a million US Citizens living in Mexico to avoid US tax etc.
Know of what you speak ! Income from abroad must be reported ! You must include forgein bank accounts or stuff that money in mattress or smuggle it back to us !
@@chavitacanta008 Yeah, sure - people that have fled the Jurisdiction of the USA will be complying 100% with tax laws.. Dream on, McDuff.
Why not just drop the boarders ? Let people live where they want to.
Was this video done with some kind of Microsoft software? It is a really cool teaching tool.
We need temporary workers visas that are good for 3 years and renewable. DACA kids should become naturalized citizens. These people are already part of the system as farm and construction workers. We should have a skilled labor strategy as well. More workers and consumers at the same time.
Awesome that line "just the facts you decide what you believe" i was ohh come on give us your opinion!
Nobody:
absolutely nobody:
Steve Ballmer: hey guys want a channel with just rhe facts and no politics that you can get from any other source???
High Schools should have a required class based on this TH-cam channel
The biggest issue in the US immigration systems is under funding immigration to hire many officers adjudicating cases,
when this happens asylees stay, some over 10 years without a definitive answer.
There should be more employees to adjudicate cases keep those who deserve it then deport the rest who don’t qualify
Simple : do not let more immigrants in than your system can handle ! No system can handle a 200% increase ! Better yet file for it in your home country, it is an option !
What a joke this country has become
What people don't get is the population implosion on a global scale that is happening. We will be BEGGING for immigration over the next 10 years. Capitalism is based on growth, if we shrink our entire basis for all government spending including our own entitlements crumbles. We should be working to increase our court system to hear out the applicants and make them tax paying citizens, not throwing them out. Far better than leaving them in limbo and collecting nothing. This gives them and their family a chance to really contribute to our society.
how do you count people that have "snuck" in?
Ever heard of statistical modeling? I doubt it.
I thought you would find this information interesting given our recent conversations on the subject. See you guys some time soon!
Just the facts and only 14 comments. So sad.
People prefer fake news
Looks like it was closed until after the election lol
Overly complicated machine. The inmates are running the asylum.
Love to see a comparison of taker vs maker states, especially after Trump's recent win.
Would be nice to do nothing ,pay nothing and have citizenship bestowed on you !
democrats dont care. but they will spend extraordinary effort convincing you that they do. all they care about is your vote to keep them in power.
@@chavitacanta008 I certainly understand the frustration, but I think if you looked into the lives of those that come in "illegally", you would not want to trade lives with them. The solution is to find a way to make the immigration system better.
@@chavitacanta008 2k is barely enough to apply for adjusting status. Is there anything wrong with your numbers?
Lots of people just overstay their visa.
Will that impact you? Maybe they are the person keep food cheap
Facts ohh inconvenient facts 😂😂
They love us dumb.
Intelligent man would have made a much better Presidential candidate than what was put out there. And I like Harris and Biden as people but one age caught up with and the other just not that dude as a campaigner or Nation’s chief. Even Biden excellent Senator and caretaker of the Nation but hardly a dynamic, brilliant leader. This guy is smart and articulate. Would have been a better choice if he could read the woke tea leaves and have concrete solutions for out of control housing and food costs.
Pretty much the liberal excuse making you'd expect. It would be interesting to seem him do a data driven presentation on crime in the US
Data is kinda old!
Lot of it is 23 because the official government figures have not been made up yet ,uhh compiled !
I love trusting capitalists, it's obviously how we bring about change 😂
Steve Ballmer is the former CEO of Microsoft and a major funder of progressive-left groups. 1 From 2016-2021, Ballmer donated over $110 million to Los Angeles organizations alone.
Yes we are all quite aware of who Steve Ballmer is. He is a millionaire (billionaire maybe) capitalist who believes in education and his foundation primarily funds anything to help children. Lifting them out of poverty with better education, funding mental health services etc...
I encourage others to find out more about the Ballmer Group. They do good work.
If you love facts you needs to learn Physics.
something fishy has to be going on here. how does this channel all of the sudden have millions of view in only few days with no comments?
The comment section was turned "off" previously, now it's open.
IDK maybe dont say it's "just facts" while referencing Willy Wonka.
Useless to be flooded with this info
Speak for your self...and enjoy the sand.
What do you mean h1b don’t have path to citizenship ? Of course they do.
Lol
Just marry a Trump?
They don’t, not until their employers are willing to sponsor their green card, which call EB 123
This will start as non-partisan like most liberal news organization.
11.6 millions only in LA😂 Your numbers stink
It's quite funny and insulting, how he deliberately excluded gaza when he was talking about humanitarian crisis,he only mentioned ukraine and haiti.Hypocrisy at its best,it seems like its normal to dehumanize palestinians
Is it true that if Palestinians leave, they can't come back?
Yeah not buying thr propeganda. They all got to go
Ha
Simply impossible without extraordinary circumstances. Any action under trump would be a drop in the bucket and not do anything.
...because?
Yeah, anything fact is propoganda. You are living in your so fragile glass world! Cult!
Insightful feedback, thank you.
