Great, but this so simple. More complicated is configuration VM in Hyper-V environment to get best performance like vCPU, NUMA, assign memory, selecting different vhdx for SQL partition (data, logs, temp). That is chalange.
Thanks bro!! I would like to ask you to watch my 7th Tutorial of the Hyper-V Series over Windows Server 2019 as it covers all the basics of my last 6 Tutorials . Link is available into the description box.
i can't find any tutorial on just installation of hyper v server 2019 core bare metal ? is there a reason why ? i am thinking of running window hyper v server 2019 bare metal to save resources as i do not have a good hardware to spare on the vms?
Could somebody please clarify the licensing on the standard 2019 version. I know about the constraints of two VM’s. If additional VM’s are Linux can this still work or is it purely 2 VM’s and that’s it?
Can it be able to do older versions like Windows 2000 Server. I tried it on Private because I only have one Server, for Windows NT 4.0 Server, on Generation 1 because of the 32 bit and 64 bit, however when I got it going to install, it just blinks _ (like it does for startup). It does nothing at all.
Thanks for your query. Since, Windows NT 4 and Windows 2000 are no longer supported by Microsoft, and so can't be supported on Hyper-V 2019 but still you can try it on Windows 2008 Hyper-V server. Still I doubt the integration service won't be available. Please check and don't forget to share your experiment output here. We all would be thankful if you kindly share the experience here.
I am gettting the error while trying to setup in WS 2019, Error: The Virtual Machine Management Service failed to start the virtual machine 'DockerDesktopVM' because one of the Hyper-V components is not running (Virtual machine ID E0560616-DABB-4094-9486-E76F4F76D8A1). Does it happen due to Virtualization not enable in the BIOS level?
Hi! Thanks for your query. You can watch one of my previous videos in this regard. Hopefully you can find some clues. th-cam.com/video/ABfiJqNjBwo/w-d-xo.html
And one more thing. You have to enable VT (virtualization technology) in BIOS too as it is mandatory to be enabled if you want to run any virtualization application
