If you mean, cut for a seat insert or cut an insert out, I set up a ball head with a seat pocket bit and take care of it Level off and find center like a valve job then deal with the seat insert
@ I can not find a seat with the correct OD, & I don’t want to enlarge the bore in the aluminum cylinder head. I want to machine the OD of a new valve seat but I am not sure how to hold it in the lathe & what tooling to use.
Yes it works for that application as well Usually takes a little more creative adapters to mount the head well but I've made a few specific adapters that get me though most anything
Hey john, how do I get more information on this setup for the mill? I can’t find a website and contact online and I don’t use Facebook. Please let me know how I can get ahold of you and get more information and pricing on this unit. Thanks
Talked via email. Do you have the new setup mentioned ready? Im starting a rebuild on my mill. Once done I will be ready to get the setup! Im short on floor space. This is ideal. It keeps me from needing more machines and more room to put them.
I have one left in stock now and I will have more in stock in a week. The digital levels are not in stock due to the virus. Components for the level come from an electronics shop in NY city and they are closed as of now. I am not sure when they will open as of now either.
I sell the fixture for 1495.00 plus shipping in the US. Outside the US will be something different. I also sell the digital level for 1195.00 and the new center finder for 250.00. You can contact me at rbjracing1@gmail.com
Can’t wait to get mine! Been using stones till now. This will really expand my capability.
How is this set up working for you?
AWESOME John 👍
Top job John 👍👍
Hi John, have you ever had to machine the OD of the valve seat? If so, how did you set it up & hold the seat?

What is the OD of the seat you need?
How deep is the pocket?
What size valve do you have and what application?
There should be something available.
Did you cut seats on 4v per cylinder aluminum heads with this fixture?
Yes it works for that application as well

Is that a 8 inch riser ?
what setup do you use to sharpen valve seat cutters?
