I used to think natural nails are great because you can just put gel polish on top and call it a day, but omg it's so easy to make them long with poly gel and unlike natural nails, you don't get jagged free edge in a week of wearing... I literally wore my poly gel nails for 6-8 weeks and I only had to touch up the new growth, edge was immaculate.

Get acrylics. You won’t be able to bite through them and it’ll help wean you off the habit. Worked for me 6 years ago and within a year of starting I had not only stopped biting but my nails were healthy and even longer than this girl’s!

@@calamityjane5484 its clear builder gel, builder gel is hard gel. the difference between hard gel and other gel is that you cant soak it off. it has a high resistance against chemicals. Polygel is a gel with the texture of acrylic. besides the viscosity, it has nothing to do with acrylic as you need to put it under the lamp. polygel will also not be as clear as builder, its more grainy. gels that are not hard gel cant be used to extend the nail as they do not stabilize it. shellac, colour gels and many base gels fall into this category.

The key is in doing it slowly & don't dap the brush too far into it. Float it over the gel.
