  • The video shows how I store this modular layout, put it together and how I constructed and made certain features. There are also a few running shots throughout the video.

The storage is a great idea. You can just work on one section at a time then when you want to play just set up. Brilliant.

Thank you very much for your comment Fred, you are correct the Bridge is a representation of Little Petherick Bridge, however in real life it consists of three girders in length whereas I only managed to find space to model the bridge as two girders in length

Not sure what I'm watching here to be honest.. Padstow, Cornwall? I was there fishing on the quay in the late 60's. I was running with a running club from Bodmin to Padstow and back in the mid 90's.
Nothing here looks like I recall and I certainly don't recall any tunnels on the Camel trail.
    Nice layout though

Thank you very much, the one thing I do need to work on is the join between the two back scenes as it is a little distracting. Joel

Wow!!! Nicely done. Not into N but can still appreciate the level of modelling. Some great techniques and to store it away so neat aswell is pure gold 🎉
Where did you find those station lights in green?
Love to see more about the techniques used for my own learning.

Thank you, very much appreciated. The station lights are from Layout 4 U, I bought them from GETS and were £10 for a pack of six, I think they do them in 00 too. Joel

@@trepatrickjunction4387 yeh they look great. I'll take a look. Ive been contemplating whether to bother with LEDs or fake lights for a while. Didn't appear to be much by way of choice out there.

@@_RandomPea The main retailers selection can be limited and very expensive, but places like Layouts4U, Kytes lights and Model Railway scenes are much more affordable and have quite good ranges of lights and lighting accessories!

@@trepatrickjunction4387 thanks so much. I did look at layouts4u but the pack size was annoying, I emailed them to see if they did packs of 4 but they never responded. I'll take a look at the others now. Assuming you would suggest adding led lights as opposed to fakes ? I.e would I regret not doing it?

Thank you very much for your comment, all the track and points are peace which I was very lucky to pick up at a sale in a bundle for £40, the points can be very pricy at about £15 each! kind regards, Joel

Such an Awesome Location to Model - I’ve Cycled this line to Wadebridge and on to Bodmin, but would have loved to See it in its Hey day - Fantastic Representation of this Beautiful part of the Realm. 🛥️ 🏴‍☠️🥟 🚂🚞🚞💨💨

I enjoy visiting this area very much each year and have also done the Camel Trail a few times, it is stunning. It was great fun building this small layout and I tried my best to capture the beauty of this area.

Awesome modeling, great layout! I'm really impressed by the water and shoreline, especially. I grew up just up the line in Wadebridge, and have family in Padstow. This section of the railway was gone before I was born, although freight trains still ran into Wadebridge until I was seven or so. It's all the Camel Trail now. Me and Dad used to park up in the old station car park and go fishing under the bridge at Little Petherick Creek. One of my great-grandfathers was a Navvy on the line, and helped build the bridge there! Cheers from Kernow.
