    Wow! That young blond guy winning the car at 1:15, and being interviewed at 1:57, is me. I remember the news crew following us around all day, but never saw the actual reports until now. Very cool to see it! I was on for three days total, and won about $23,000 during my time on the show, which was taped in mid-May, 1986, and aired about two weeks later. I had that pickup truck until around 2001 when it finally gave out. I remember Debbie (shown at 3:31), she was on with me on my third (final) show. I was 22 when this was shot. I'm 60 now. Hard to believe. Great people, and so much fun! Thanks for uploading!

    They actually mention that it began in 1975. These days, Sony acts like 1975-1983 never happened.

      @Vahan Nisanian I don't get why Sony is like that, it's almost like they are trying to play revisionist and make it seem as though Wheel didn't exist until 1983 when the syndicated version premiered in which that's total BS. The show already was going on well before that point but it's almost like they want it to seem like there never was any episodes before them in their minds.

      @@justinmiddleton8818 Well really the nightime show is different than the daytime show obviously. It's two separate shows.

    • @justinmiddleton8818
      @justinmiddleton8818 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Morgan Nye Back in the day (early '80s) they weren't really all that different, at least not structurally speaking. Until the nighttime show went to all cash in late 1987 they more or less shared the same format with the shopping rounds between puzzles and the main differences between the two was that nighttime had a larger prize budget and higher dollar amounts on the wheel. Other than that though, there was of course then syndi version being distributed through KingWorld (up until 2007 when it folded and became absorbed into CBS Distribution) while daytime wasn't.

      @Morgan Nye Yes, I'm just saying that until the all cash format was introduced in nighttime in October 1987 (first as the month long trial run Big Month/Bonanza of Cash) the two were largely the same format wise aside from the prize budgets and wheel amounts. That was really the first time they had a real distinction between each other until daytime Wheel moved to CBS and Bob Goen succeeded Rolf Benirschke and it also adopted the cash format (albeit a cheaper version) after carrying the shopping rounds for a little longer.
