Molly Shannon is not only one of the greatest SNL cast members ever...she's one of the most talented comedians of all time!! She was SOOOO far ahead of her time!!
Molly Shannon was almost TOO talented to be on Saturday Night Live. These performances are on a whole other level than so many SNL performers, and the depth that she built into this character was breathtaking!
Chris French you are absolutely correct! Which really highlights how SNL really sucks these days. They’re still trying to hold on to what the show was way back with the original cast. But the writers suck. That’s all.
@@donnebes9421: The perpetual assessment of SNL: "It's shit compared to what it used to be!" Years later: "I forgot how funny it used to be!" Give it a rest, this skit sucked. At least cherry pick some good sketches for your rose colored glasses.
@@Surfer041: The whole crouching down or even sitting in the booth to take the order, the whole thing on his part is dead accurate. Yay for corporate designed and regulated means of friendliness.
God I miss the "old" TGI Fridays of my childhood, especially the old logo. They took out the TGI a year or so ago. I loved going there for my birthday and they'd tie the balloons all over my hair and ears and wrists. And Stripes the Zebra was the mascot. I actually really miss the red and white balloons. That was my favorite part. I have a picture from my 11th birthday in 2000 after my parents took me there for dinner. It all changed in 2004. I would still go there today if it was still like it used to be, even if it is a chain.
Molly Shannon is a treasure. Her characters, MKG and Sally O' Malley, will forever be two of SNL'S funniest characters. Honestly, how Molly Shannon never broke character is astonishing 😂❤
I love how her feelings are always best expressed by a monologue from a made-for-tv movie on TNT. You can tell she's raised on it living with her grandmother.
nobody's gonna say on this how utterly fuckin' adorable she is!? she's in her first day at WORK and she's wearing her damn school uniform STILL!? I love Mary and how Shannon sometimes STOLE the show!!!!!!!!!
Pretty sure she did improv a lot when she used to do MKG. Years ago somewhere i've read that the dressing room people have warned the guest star that episode that Molly tend to improv and i'm pretty sure she wasn't supposed to say that considering Scott Wolfe's reaction.
This would be my girlfriend as a waitress. We're almost polar opposites. I'm confident, muscular, and driven. She's awkward, kind of soft, and unsure of herself. She reads lots of fiction, while I read lots of non-fiction. Pretty much, if we both worked at TGI Friday's, she would be MKG, and I would be the confident bartender.
I love that Molly played the part of a "kooky" neighbor on original Will and Grace for 3-4 random episodes. A slightly more savvy character yet with all of her "fun" flaws. It's MUST SEE TV for Molly fans.
I think one of the many things we love about MKG is that we all see a bit of ourselves in her. SOOOOO awkward! 😂😂😂 (that moment when we don’t know what to do with our hands, or can’t stop ourselves from talking and the little voice inside our head is just like “Shut up! Shut! Up! Now would be a GREAT time to stop talking. I know you think you can save this, but NO, you can’t! BAIL! I know you thought bringing this up was a good idea, but deep down you KNEW it was a mistake, so just SHUT UP!!”
when she fell into the table of men after her monologue and they tried to help her up, and her legs were covered with food and drink, and she stuck them straight out and fell under the table. She is amazingly funny.
I had to watch her fall with the sodas twice! Lol! I wish I could see it in slow motion just to see how she actually fell! Comedic Gold! So weird so funny.
i'm listening to molly on the howard stern show and just had to take a break to watch some mary katherine gallagher sketches. wow! talk about throwing yourself into your work!
As an ex Fridays employee the way they guy acted was so accurate, especially with the 7 points and lowering himself to the customers level 😍😍 dont even get me started on the birthday chant 😂😂😂😂
Lol. I LOVE Mary’s creepy movie monologues 😂
Toni
MKG was one of the best and more believeble characters in SNL. I miss her.
Molly perfected her more with each performance.
They did just bring back, for one final skit- OPERAMAN. Mary being back ONE last time would be epic!
Love her.

@@dizzmatic89 Old enough to know who Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Joan Rivers and Gilda Radner are...
@@numbskulI Ok what makes her ahead of her time then? I’m a Molly Shannon fan and not trying to argue with you just genuinely curious
Besides the armpit smelling what the heck are you talking about?
She was absolutely one of the best wish she was in more stuff now
When she falls with that guy at the end I about fricking lost it lol!!!

Chris French That's why she got her own Superstar movie based the Mary Katherine Gallagher character. She was that good.
That guy playing the waiter was realistically annoying as fuck, just like being there.
Painfully unfunny.

molly is absolutely phenomenal as mkg. probably the last snl actor who took physical comedy seriously.
Kristen Wiig would like a word with you
As an employee of Fridays during the early 2000s, this is how servers acted back then. Over the top Cheesey, but it worked.
I couldn't stand that fake douchebaggery. I won't deal with idiot waiters like that.
@@TS-qq7vr obviously, this is way over the top Cheesey, but the uniform is exactly what we wore back then

@@TS-qq7vr agreed, I never kneeled down or sat down with a customer. You have to read the table. Sitting down was an absolute no no.

Lol, her grandmother “who lives in a motorized wheelchair “, my favorite made for tv movie she portrays is “portrait of a teenage alcoholic “
nobody's gonna say on this how utterly fuckin' adorable she is!? she's in her first day at WORK and she's wearing her damn school uniform STILL!? I love Mary and how Shannon sometimes STOLE the show!!!!!!!!!
MKG 's monologues are ICONIC
OMG, When she said "squeeze all the milk out" 🤣😆😆

That’s super personal man.
Oh my lord! Scott Wolf!!!!! 😍 I forgot how cute he was!
Oh gosh Scott Wolf looks so good here. And molly Shannon sure suffers for her craft! Looks painful
Scott was starring on Party of Five when this was filmed.
Scott Wolf sat on my face =)
My god, molly Shannon is amazing !!! Xxx
She is a comedic genius. Like Tyra Banks says to model head to toe, Molly acts literally head to toe and inside out.
I live for the monologues at the end, they are captivating!
That was an Oscar performance. =)
She is the funniest comedian ever!! 🤣
My favorite next to Chris Farley
The servers at Friday's back in the 90s were exactly 100% like how Scott Wolf's character was lol.
Molly Shannon is the bomb... her character is the best.... when she throws herself LOL
That waiter scooting down at the table is one of the reasons I don't go to places like that. Spot on.
I have some major anxiety so I'm afraid this would be me as a waitress 😂😂😂
That's what she said
This was me as a waitress. Luckily, I worked the graveyard shift. (;
This would be my girlfriend as a waitress.
We're almost polar opposites. I'm confident, muscular, and driven.

It hits a little too close to home!
What an amazing actress Molly is
2:19 The way she just runs straight at him like a bat out of hell. Golden.
She hit him like a free safety!
Scott Wolf does a good job playing the obnoxiously over-enthusiastic waiter, lol. We've all seen those people that seem way too happy in tedious jobs.
Scott Wolfe and Mary Katherine Gallagher are comedy gold!
I love that Molly played the part of a "kooky" neighbor on original Will and Grace for 3-4 random episodes. A slightly more savvy character yet with all of her "fun" flaws. It's MUST SEE TV for Molly fans.
She is one of the best underrated SNL characters... My personal fav ❤️

Zebulous - Ha ha ha! Yeah, just fine, thanks for asking! How ‘bout you?
I’m fine. Just sitting here not being an insane lunatic.
Zebulous - What a coincidence! Me too!!
mena94x3 No...you’re doing quite the opposite
Molly Shannon was so underappreciated!!!!! So damn funny!!!
I love how the kevin is trying not laugh at mary, I'm weak 😂😂💀💀
Lol that last slip on the spaghetti. XD
"You rip 'em! YOU RIP 'EM!!!" 😆😆😆
Physical comedy at its finest!
Superstar!! hahahaha!
I just love Molly Shannon. She soothes my souls with laughter
Talked to her the other day at work - nicest lady ever.
PJ Mcwhiskers 😂
Best falls ever!

Lol it's possible to slow the video down, you know.
On PC you can click on the gear icon and change playback speed, not sure about mobile.
I worked in a ton of those places and this is realistic AF
Kristen Stewart sounds like her
The same feeling here
From 5:10-6:32 , WOW. She's the best.
Scott Wolf looks like Seth Meyers. Especially when he smiles
I just love the dimples!
My GOD, Mary is SO adorable!
What a natural at physical comedy. She was a hero to so many of us awkward but brainy girls in high school.
Portrait of a Stripper was released in 1979. Starting Lesley Ann Warren and Edward Herrmann.
😂😂love it
YOU RIP EM! 😂😂😂
I remember those days as a server
🤠🛼🛼
I wish she was STILL on SNL now!😂
I love Molly Shannon and Will Ferrell they are two historical characters of Saturday Night Live oh oh of course Kristen Wiig
A waiter being so personal would make me uncomfortable
I think MKG with that talents should be a furious fighter in WWF. 😅
Mkg foresaw corona with that hand sanitizer stuff
When snl had talent!
*YES!*
High 5 ✋
I love that she's wearing her school uniform to work...lol
Long live the 1990s the very best of Saturday Night Live
I was a star server at a T.G.I.F's for a year and 1/2. Pot-stickers.
gold ! she is brilliant !
Molly Shannon. All in. Oh and Anna Gasteyer in mini dress!
She looks like the female version of JJ Abrams.
It's the possum eyes.
Or the male version of Billie jean king
Weird al
Molly Shannon is just the best. She's scarily good.
molly would be the perfect psycho in horror movies
That old lady covering herself with her plate at 4:15 😂
Those dramas always save her,,, haha
That short guy could be Ferris Bueller Jr.
Another reminder SNL was funny at one point in time. ;)
Who knew Rosh from Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy worked at TGI Friday’s before becoming a Jedi?! Lol love this scene
SUPERSTAR!!!
She was so funny in Talladega Nights
She is punk rock of acting
the school uniform and the Fridays get up! LOL
Mary Katherine Gallagher
Ugh! Server flashback! I waited tables for 9 years, and still have nightmares about it.
Looks like Bucky from captain america.
It's amazing all the physical comedy she does as this character
You know it's good performance when I can physically feel the axiety. Before the monologue I felt like I was shaking.
🤣 her nervousness and being out of breath are so brilliant. My feet got sweaty
Oh boy,she killed it!!!😂😂😂 that 3bding tho🤦♂️🤦♂️😂😂
Poor MKG was going to have a panic attack
i'm listening to molly on the howard stern show and just had to take a break to watch some mary katherine gallagher sketches. wow! talk about throwing yourself into your work!
Same here. The Gary Coleman story was hilarious and creepy too.
Scott (Kevin) would make for a nice snack. Is he on the menu?
he keeps laughing i wouldnt be able to handle it
Maybe she should go back and use that anti bacterial soap again
Lmfao!!! He was trying so hard not to break. 😂😂😂
She is a wonderful actor and comedian ❤
Who still plays these priceless nuggets of pure gold today?
As an ex Fridays employee the way they guy acted was so accurate, especially with the 7 points and lowering himself to the customers level 😍😍 dont even get me started on the birthday chant 😂😂😂😂
omg! I saw the lowering to the costmers level lol... am I the only person that hates when servers do that shit?
She's a true SUPERSTAR!!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY 💯
Molly Shannon = the QUEEN of comedy
She’ “CRAZY” good
Office Space ripped this scene off :)
Lucky charms coated Shrimp 😮😂😂😂
Mmm the way she looks her co worker up and down in the beginning.😍
Bring this sketch back !!!
Molly Shannon and Cheri Oteri are my all time favorites!!!!
Lol ! Hilarious, recurring character :D
OMG she is such a good actor!
I'm here from " I Love That For You". I started watching these videos last night and now I'm watching them again. 😂😂😂
