Being a young kid I was astounded by the interpretative strenght of his voice though I never had the chance to see him perform his show. The songs sounded perfect and I could listen to them for keeps in vinylo. Today, thanks to youtube I have the pleasure of watching and listenning this masterpiece and I am still surprised by the power of this artist. Naturaly himself he can mesmerize the toughest person with his talent.
As I see so many of these wonderful performances by so many artists I am struck by a single thought - that it is meaningless to compare any of them with any others. To do so misses the point of art entirely. Just enjoy, folks. Each performance on its own merits.

where as I disagree with his choice of worshipping, being a strong minded atheist, I admire his desire to help his fellow man. If Cat was to choose any faith Islam is among the most peaceful. they are not a nation of terrorists. I have only, in the past year, truly begun to enjoy his work but it has given me pespective on humanity. I do not condone to war without just cause. The atrocity that had occured in Iraq and Afghanistan was injust and to the tens of thousands lost I'm very sorry

Obsessive instrument tuning is perhaps a sign of perfectionism, but in this context I think he would be wrong not to do so, as improper tuning would completely ruin the song for resale purposes - who wants to buy a live recording of an out-of-tune song?

Cat Stevens' music is what helped me bring my brother back from the deep, darkness of a coma and return to life. i will be forever grateful.
