I have an L4 CES Mahogany back. It is beyond belief, best guitar I've ever had. A friend has one with maple back and sides and it's fantastic. we are both full time jazz musicians. Both of ours are blonde and we ain't selling them, no way too good to let loose of!
Have two L-4 CES Crimson customs with mahogany back and sides. Music Zoo had a brand new black one left over that I found on their web site a few months ago. I found another mint sunbust Crimson from 2019 I bought from a guy in NY. Beautiful sound and the necks on them are a dream to play.
Man respect you when i heard you sayi'g on this that Wes Montgomery your jazz guitar idol .Wauhhhhh you know the thing Tyson. If a guitarist can transcribe Wes i would hats off Wes follower 🎉🎉🎉
Everything I've heard Wes play sounds perfect to me. Here's a video from 5 years ago of me playing a Wes solo that I transcribed. I also break down how to play one of the hip lines he plays. th-cam.com/video/POhxp6fcEmc/w-d-xo.html
@TysonGraf 💥💯👋💯🤩Oh man ,Wes Montgomery for me was ‘Jazz-guitar”.Nobody I mean nobody sounds and will Never sound like him ..... Really 😀wowwww gonna check it out right on
great content!! one area i would look into if i was in your shoes is Japanese made guitars, if i m not mistaken i once played an FGN Masterfield MFA-FP , one of many "Lawsuit era" guitars (FGN, TOKAI, Burny/fernandes, Greco , Yamaha ), and any of these guitars is by design superior quality/wood and more affordable than Gibsons (from my humble experience). wishing you the best.
My dream guitar is a fender telecaster, foam green, rosewood neck, slim head stock (like they naturally have) and a neck scale of 24.75! Why Fender doesn't get over themselves and offer a 24.75 neck scale is beyond me. It's kind of like an upscale restaurant offering only white wines but NOT red wines...which is absurd. Anyway, I've been relegated to subbing out my guitars with replacement 24.75 necks.
Pretty sure the ones with maple back and sides are actually laminate maple? The ones with mahogany are all solid. You might want to look into that if in fact you want the woods to be all solid.
Heyyy bro your dream guitar is on its way .Guess what by the time im writing this message i have front of me the Gibson L4 guitar 1996 red wine for sale. $4,999.Located in Hrand rapids Michigan....Santa claus is at ya thresholdTyson
Hope you get it!!!
It'll be well deserved.
Man, that would be an awesome guitar to have.

Enjoy.
A real shame Gibson stopped making archtops. It’s those designs that made them famous far before the Les Paul.
I've preferred my Eastman's for quite a while. They have all the quality,, and WAY less expensive. (yeah I know, but try one)

Seems really strange that Gibson doesn't make hollowbodies anymore.
Indeed. They've made so many iconic hollowbody guitars.

From what I understand, they are laminate. Would be happy with only the top being solid.
@TysonGraf excellent 👍 Hope you're able to find one soon!
@@waitaminute7257 Thank you.
Have you looked into the Heritage H575? Basically an L4 with a different headstock for half the price
Those are nice guitars.
575s are all solid maple top, sides and back. L4s are spruce top with either mahogany backs or maple depending on when they were made.
Send Gibson that clip of you playing Giant Steps at 320 and maybe they'll endorse you.
Haha. Unfortunately, to get an endorsement, big companies like them really only care if a musician is popular.
@@TysonGraf Funny how they'll help you out when you least need it.
