    Jezza: a true example of how to stay composed and overcome adversity!

  • @TheObjectivegamer
    @TheObjectivegamer 7 ปีที่แล้ว +31

    Based on the way 460kg moved I think Jezza could have taken the world record if the judges hadn't given him so much trouble.

    • @okiedokieoner

      TheObjectivegamer yeah didnt look like ray had much more in the tank to match jezza.

    Why are people upset that a commentator is biased? its an individual sport. She is a fan herself, let her cheer for her favourites. she cheers for everyone, let her enjoy the event. Be grateful you have knowledgeable commentators at all. she does a great job. its her job to hype of the sport and make it more interesting for people who arent as familiar with the sport. Shes not here to guide "experts" through the lifting process.

    • @MG-dx4dm
      @MG-dx4dm 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Agreed! Bless her heart for the excitement she brings to the table. Commentation wouldn't be the same without her!

    Chrissy doesn't seem professional enough to be a sportscaster.

    1:51:20 Jezza foot movement... these blocks are waay too slippery.
    Even worse at 1:59:30

    • @emp100k
      @emp100k 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or hows about the block that tore in half earlier in the week and it took them days to get it fixed, those were some of the worst blocks I've ever seen...

    • @mark33030
      @mark33030 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      What is the purpose of the blocks?

    Would be nice to see what Jezza could do if straps were allowed on deadlift, Ray was the strongest man on the day regardless. However, the "strongest man ever" was sat in the audience. (Big Z)

    I'm sorry, I don't mind Chrissy most of the time, but the way she's lighting up for Jezza (phenomenal squat, by the way) is a bit much. Find your bearings, woman.

    How does Kelly hit 931, and then attempt 970 at the Arnold, but here he only hits 925 on his 3rd?
    Was Kelly out of sorts for this meet, maybe injured? all his attempts in squat, bench and dead were substantially lower than what he is capable of...

  • @budadi
    @budadi 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    277,5kg raw is not the biggest lift in bench in IPF history.. James Hendersson pressed 322.5 kg in 1997 raw without wrist wraps or a belt ..

    • @okiedokieoner
      @okiedokieoner 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      budadi biggest in a 3 lift comp i think

    • @budadi
      @budadi 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      okiedokieoner Henderson did 322,5 in a full meet. Squat-bench-deadlift.

      budadi They reset all of the records a little while back because their drug testing wasn't very thorough until a handful of years ago

    • @budadi
      @budadi 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ben Mowbray Im well aware of that. But it doesnt change the fact that heavier weights has been lifted.

    • @benmowbray370
      @benmowbray370 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      budadi I'm aware of that as well. I was just saying that it's technically regarded as the "world record", even though it's not the heaviest weight that has been lifted

  • @emp100k
    @emp100k 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    My boy Christophe did soo well, finnaly cracked that 900kg total.
    Disappointed that Kruze missed 405 on the squat and didn't hit 1000kg like I had hoped he would.
    Also disappointing how poor Jezza's deadlift is, he has short, fat fingers I guess...

    what actually happened to Jezza?

  • @dholmesy751
    @dholmesy751 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jezza's feet moved on his 3rd bench...did they not call him for it because it was the blocks that moved and not his feet on the blocks?..just wondering what the ruling is?

    • @emp100k
      @emp100k 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They slid, yes but sliding is ok as long as they don't lift off the ground and the soles remain flat.

  • @celiottjohnston
    @celiottjohnston 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This is obviously just a theory because Ray did look a bit slow on his second squat, but I wouldn't be surprised if he scratched his third out of respect / sportsmanship for Jezza.

    How the hell are they lifting without alternating grip? How does it not slip?

    • @AnonAnono
      @AnonAnono 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hook grip. When handling the kind of weights these guys do, the supinate hand puts too much tension on the biceps which is then at risk of tearing off the bone. It happens pretty often on big deadlifts so these guys just don't take chances
