mine is fine as well I have heard that it's a sear spring issue. for 15 bucks I can get mine fixed if it should happen but yeah I took mine to my local smith as well and he mine was good.
Shipping mine out today for the recall. I own several Staccatos , and bought this as a cheap beater gun. It's way better than it should be at the price point. I plan on doing an optic cut and a red dot when it's back.......
I sent it back but you’re probably right. I think you would have to change the hammer too though. I’m not sure but I heard it’s a trigger and or a hammer issue.
@@ArmadilloArmament it’s a sear engagement issue because it’s hammer follow (or weak sear spring unlikely though). Most likely the sear engagement is out of spec. Nighthawk makes a drop in trigger kit that functions like a drop in ar trigger. It has the hammer, sear, and disconnector in a cartridge so you can just drop it in and do a safety check to ensure your thumb safety still engages correctly. It also has a new “sear spring” that only has the leaf for the grip safety on it because the mainspring does the job of the sear and disconnector leaf. The drop in trigger kit by nighthawk for sure would fix it. I’m sure tisas will set it straight though anyways
@@hasgunwilltravel6840yea, upgrading it would make sense given that Tisas triggers aren’t anything to write home about; that said, I hope some people put 5k+ rounds thru one of these without sending it in for the safety upgrade. Just have decent muzzle discipline and you’ll be fine (if it’s just a range toy, that is).
@@wheelguns4wheelmen802 yeah out of my 2 tisas 1 has an ok trigger not bad but not good, the other was shockingly good. Don’t have a gauge but the good one is like a good trigger on a revolver. Almost as good as my detective special. Don’t have very many rounds through each at all yet though. Only upgrades I plan on is for my stakeout I’m gonna install a tighter barrel bushing and a new slide stop as the diameter of the slide stop is .197 instead of .200 so I can get it a smidge tighter. I know I’ll have to make sure the slide stop fits the lower lugs and barrel link, I will make sure. But yeah I also would like to see how one that isn’t sent in fares. From what I understand about the recall it was something that they found in house and issued the recall as a precaution but never actually had any customers make this complaint
Yeah, If you dont use gloves then absolutely dont train with them. But alot of LE and MIL use gloves and some guns/textures can become very slick when using gloves. Maine is quite cold!
@@nolagospeltracts8264 R/2011 speaks very highly of their 2011's. Ive seen great reviews on their 1911's however thats one of the only brands I havent shot. For the $8-900 id say springfield armory is the best. Alot of forged parts. Garison, Ronin, Loaded all catch my eye. Especially that marine core loaded model. Fusion Firearms also had the freedom series which comes in at 900 and have been very quality from what Ive read. In that price range you should also be able to pickup some Colt's which are the OG manufacturer if you care about that. Below that range id stick with Tisas.
Prior to your review and testing of this gun and do a complete cleaning and lubrication being it’s a new gun from the factory. Also, did you break the gun in ? Shooting typically 500 rounds and then again tear it down and clean and lubricate it prior to your testing ? Being an aficionado of 1911 you would know all this so I’m most likely stating the obvious Ricky from IBM
It’s run almost flawlessly regardless of break in or are you referring to the Dan Wesson. The dan Wesson I gave about 1k to 1500 rounds through before calling it. Cleaning and breaking down very frequently.
@@k4vms I’m doubtful. You can see in the videos how tight my recoil control was. I really wouldn’t worry about those malfunctions. The mags were stupid dirty and it was ridiculously cold. Hey how quickly did they respond to you? I put my Serial into the Tisas website about 4 hours after Tisas posted that recall on their website yesterday, but no e-mail response yet. I have a .45 ACP Raider as well
@@ArmadilloArmament it's possible we have serials that don't fall within the affected range? Though I suppose I'd still expect a response saying something to the tune of "Hey, nah your gun is good. Keep running it."

Its just different, I wouldnt call it bad. Slide to frame fit has almost nothing to do with quality or accuracy. What really matters is barrel and barrel bushing fit. Colt is a little looser and doesnt feel as good to rack but its undoubtably more accurate. The colt is higher quality though for sure.
I just ordered a second Raider. Tisas has beefed up the machining, and added the high frame cut under the trigger. Fantastic slide, barrel, and frame for a complete build.
The 🇺🇸 better step the eff up. I’m getting sooo tired of Tisas this, Tisas that. I’m by no means a snob, but I won’t buy a foreign 1911. Colt needs to ditch the plastic msh and tighten up quality control on their base models then maybe folks won’t flock to Tisas.
Colt no longer exists. The quality of the former company has been going down hill for at least 20 years. Get over it and move on. I learned my lesson when they were still in business.
All responses from Tisas regarding recall have been positive. I am waiting for mine to return ……. Should be any day.

Yes Turkey makes an excellent 1911. They use the same CNC machines as others do in addition to sticking to the 1911 milspec format.
On the recall if you are worried just drop in a nighthawk drop in trigger kit. You will have it fixed with better parts
