    Hi, you just popped up on my recommendation page, and I will say now, thank you algorithms (for once!). I loved this video, it is not only packed with information, but also very soothing to watch. You are a very talented artist. Now I’m off to watch the others. Oh, and you have a new Scottish subscriber (with bell turned on 😁) 🎨🖌👩🏻‍🎨👍🏻

    Thank you. So much for showing us how to use dorlands wax and the watercolor ground. I’m so surprised it worked so well on stone!

    Wow that gold ground is probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen. You're right, it does look like a manuscript. Thank you for sharing!

    I bought the DS watercolour ground too. It's nice, but I got just as good effects with matchpots of ordinary matt emulsion from Homebase which were about £1 each. I painted stones for the garden and sprayed with a little clear lacquer to preserve the watercolour. They've been outside for 3 years now and haven't chipped or faded. Have a go with ordinary wall paint as it's much cheaper than the DS ground and a massive choice of colours.

      Hello! Thank you for the tip that sounds like a great idea! I have fount that the DS ground doesn’t last as long as I would like so ill look in to this before restocking, I still like the gold one but if I could find a more affordable option in a similar colour then I would give it a go, thanks again I appreciate it! 😊

    Hi, I searched you tube for info on how to do water colour paintings on canvas. There is an artist called Liz Chadderton in the UK who specialises in this, i suggest you check her out as she uses bith of these products. Well in fact she makes her own Watercolour Ground and perhaps anothor brand of encaustic wax, but shes just brilliant!
    Your art work is simply ethereally fun! Xxx

    Huge thanks for showing this! I was struggling with the transfer in my sketchbooks as I sometimes press really hard with colored pencils as a finishing touch and I wasn't satisfied with a spray I bought for this specifically. What has your experience with Dorlands Wax Medium been until now, are you satisfied? Thank you! You works are absolutely delightful, I'm so happy I found your channel!

      Thank you for the message! Sorry for the slow reply. I have been enjoying it so far, there can still be a tiny bit of transfer, but it does really help reduce it in sketchbooks. I have also been using tracing paper. If I do a painting, I want to keep as nice as possible, and I bought some spray fixative by jacksonsart. It's good too and I find it works well for pencils! Hope this helps!

    Is rhe Dorland wax similar to Renaissance wax?

    • @washedoutwyvern
      @washedoutwyvern  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not to sure on that, it dose have alot of different uses. I think it's a bee's wax and polymer mixture. Not sure but hope it helps
