    This is how a "How To" video should be done - No bull, no waffle, no looking as if you´ve not actually done the job before or omming / mumbling, no crappy lighting or poor quality shots, no hand held juddery video. Clear and straight to the point. Great job guys.

    Great video, thank you, our wm was just stopping on 1min to go and not draining. No error codes, ordered a heater and thermistor direct from Bosch NZ, these arrived in 2 days -freepost. Job took about an hour and it now works a treat again.

    Excellent video my friend. Very useful. I just had a breakdown on my w/m tripping the earth leakage circuit breaker and from my experience I immediately thought the fault might be within the heater. Disconnected the heater and there it is, the machine is back on. Now all I have to do is to replace the heater following the instructions on this remarkable video. Well done!!

    Excellent video. I replaced the element and thermostat on my machine but the water still did not heat, presumably the fault lay elsewhere. The tumble drier function is bust too and the bearings are going.

    Very good tutorial, thank you. I managed to replace the thermostat in my Bosch Classixx 1200 Express without too much trouble. On minor point, my machine had four screws that needed removing to take off the main door panel, not two as with the machine in the video. Thanks again.

    Hints from a WLX24162GB owner:
    (1) You can't fold the door seal back into the drum as per the video (a pipe which theoretically keeps the rubber seal and door clean stops you). Just release the seal, be careful, and pay attention to (3) below when re-assembling.
    (2) The door interlock does not unscrew from the front panel (it's a clip in job). To avoid possible damage (£35 to replace): (a) Put the control panel back in its original place. Remove the front panel carefully. (b) Reach down from the top and release the cable guide from the side panel (may need a small flat screwdriver from the right to release the two clips. (c) Keeping the panel where it is, release the wiring plug from the door - there's a small retaining lever on the wiring connector. (d) after moving the front panel away (with the interlock fitted), reattach the cable guide back to the side panel, so you remember how it goes back. Don't be afraid of allowing the door to close into the panel once removed.
    (3) IMPORTANT: Before you replace the front panel, make sure the grey hose which comes from the side of the soap dispenser is plugged fully into the hole in the door seal (at the 11 o'clock position)
    (4) Seating the door seal is easy, fitting the fastening ring is a BLEEP.

    This is not for all Siemens washing machines. Mine is a 2015 model IQ300 and for that you access the heating element at the rear so I suspect most models post 2013 access the element at the rear. Check other videos before you dismantle the machine from the front like I did.

    I had a Siemens i300 washing machine with a faulty heater took all the front off ie in this video only to find out the heater is in the rear of the machine through a small panel wasted a lot of time best to check before you start

    How long a heater usually lasts? I have a year and a half old Bosch 5820, and one suspicious professional told me it's heater element that causes clacking noise... Even though machine easily gets to 60 degrees Celsius. Is it possible?

  • @Nagggl

    Very useful guide! My WFO2060AU/01 is taking well over 3 hours for the 1hour program, while the cold program is withing its normal 30-40min timeframe. So I would THINK the heater/element is the problem but how can I tell for sure if that is the problem before I go buy a new element/heater for the machine?

    My washer Nexxt series 500 has cold and hot water supply so I assume there is no heater involved. Any idea why it blows fuse all the time , but when I wash in cold water mode this is ok.

    Hi....I have a problem again with my Bosch W/M. The earth leakage circuit breaker is tripping again when the machine is on. I followed once more your video and checked again the heater element that I had replaced almost a year ago. The heater is fine . I tested it out separately and it works perfectly. Can you give me any hint on what could be tripping the earth leakage circuit breaker when the machine is on. The ELCB goes off around 10 minutes after the machine is started. thanks and have a good day!

    • @How-to-repair
      @How-to-repair  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mario Grima test motor, disconnect it and put it on a wash without the motor if it goes through fine then you know its the motor

    • @romanistadoc811
      @romanistadoc811 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +how-2-repair.com
      Hi there, thanks for your helpful message. I did as instructed but still the ELCB continued to trip. Then I eliminated the pump motor and the machine did a short (15 minutes) washing program without tripping. Drained the W/M. dismantled the water pump and found some sludge behind the plastic rotor, which means that water and sludge has seeped through the seal and thought that this was the problem. Bought a new pump and fitted it, gave it a relatively long wash program and again, after ten minutes into the washing program the ELCB tripped again. Then I thought of disconnecting the heater, and the long washing program went on till the end.
      The doubt is that I have replaced this heater only a year ago. When I removed the heater from its holding position to the tank last Friday I found it in perfect condition, no calcium no rust no nothing. I also gave it a power supply to see if it is actually working and if it does trip the ELCB and actually it worked, it warmed the water and it did not trip the ELCB……but maybe also that I did not emerge fully the heater into the water.
      So I thought it could be that there is a minute hairpin hole in the heater on the part which was not immersed in the water and so there was no leakage to earth. I also checked with a meter and all results were ok. No leakage to earth. Now I am going to try my luck with another new heater and see how it goes.
      I’ll keep you advised of the result. Thanks once more and have a good day!!
