    fun fact:
    barnacles are crustaceans meaning that they are more closely related to crabs and lobsters than they are to bivalves like oysters and mussels.

    Barnacles are crustaceans. They are related to lobsters, shrimps, clams, and crabs! I’m not surprised they are edible. For those who say Asians eat everything, do you forget French eat snails? I also heard of westerners eating horses , pigeons, reindeers, rabbits, kangaroo. Yuck!

    • @salvatoreshiggerino6810
      @salvatoreshiggerino6810 5 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      What's "yuck" about horses, pigeons, reindeers, rabbits and kangaroos? They are neither carnivores nor scavengers, they all feed on grass, grains, seeds and other plant matter.

    • @dwilawan
      @dwilawan 5 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      I am Buddhist. We avoid eat animals that live long if we don’t eat them. I prefer chickens to beef, lamb etc. Pigeons have virus disease. Rabbits are too cute. Eating horses and rabbits is as Yuck as eating dogs!

    • @salvatoreshiggerino6810
      @salvatoreshiggerino6810 5 ปีที่แล้ว +44

      @@dwilawan A hypocrite is what you are. Chicken can live pretty long in captivity too, up to 8-10 years, to refuse beef and lamb based on a difference of a couple of years is pretty arbitrary. And chicken are susceptible to the same viruses as pigeons are, and if that's your measure you're going to have to starve, because every animal, plant and other organism is just as susceptible to viruses. And rabbits which are herbivores are not in any way comparable to dogs which are carnivores.

    • @dwilawan
      @dwilawan 5 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Maconheiro Doidasso Horses and dogs trust and love human. I consider eating them as Yuck. How do you eat your friend. Should bury or cremate old horses instead of eating them.

    • @salvatoreshiggerino6810
      @salvatoreshiggerino6810 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @@dwilawan So do cattle, pigs and even chicken, if treated as pets. And even so I don't see where the "yuck" comes from. I wouldn't eat a farm animal kept specifically as a pet, but not because it's distasteful, but because it would be sad.

      Nah, some worms and larva have off flavors that make them not as tasty. I’ve never had a barnacle that tastes bad. Plus they are much easier to forage.
