- Limburg (an der Lahn) / Germany Limburg is a quiet town in the state of Hesse. The town lies on the River Lahn and is famous for its medieval town center. In Limburg we can see timber-framed houses and its Dom, where we start our walking tour.

The thing is, i live not too far away from limburg, my town is called hadamar, and i always feel like limburg deteriorated to a kind of bad place, the Trainstation is full of drug dealers, some shady bad people (i actually witnessed a robbery just outside the building 1 year ago) and lots of garbage! The city itself is actually pretty cool and beautiful, we have a cinema, a public Swimming pool, lots of restaurants, but the more you get to know the city and certain people, its sadly not as beautiful as its portrayed! I still kinda like it though, but i dont really visit it too often anymore
It's core is slowly dying out actually, the interesting stores are leaving 'n clothing stores are taking over mainly.. if they wont stay empty anyways..
Still remembering when they had Georgs Passage, Theile, etc. that actually brought ppl over for shopping, now it's uninteresting...

For once, praise... At least we found the way to the "Römer 2-4-6" building and filmed at least the remains of the mikveh. The building from 27:03 with the tree in front of it. It is one of the oldest half-timbered houses in Germany and a national monument.
Only very few Limburg videos show the building. (almost none). Here again only the back and not the large front with the stairs...

It actually should have been bombed in the second WW but it survived, when I recon correct because of fog a smaller neighbor city without an old town was bombed.

das ist die schöne Seite Limburgs. Leider gibt es auch ein dramatisch traurige Seite Limburgs. Das erkennt man vor allem Dingen dann wenn man mit dem Zug am Limburger Bfh ankommt und aussteigt...

Sehr schöne Stadt! Was mich interessieren würde. Legst du die Kamera auch mal auf Seite, buchst ein Hotel und guckst dir die Stadt auch mal in aller Ruhe selbst noch mal an? Oder fokussierst du dich eher darauf, dass du möglichst viele Aufnahmen von Städten sammelst?
Danke! Die über 100 Aufnahmen in Deutschland entstanden 2020/21 in recht kurzer Zeit zwischen den "Wellen".
In 2019 nahm ich ca 250 Videos überall in Europa und etwas Asien auf, was sich eher als Sport anfühlte. In Deutschland besuchte ich Spätsommer 2020 sogar manchmal 2-3 Städte pro Tag - hauptsächlich für die Videos, nur um genügend Aufnahmen für das Jahr zu haben. Teilweise sah ich kaum mehr, als auf Video festgehalten wurde. Das machte solo trotzdem viel Spaß. Ich reiste da oft per Bahn mit Ländertickets.
Da inzwischen wieder fernere Ziele möglich werden, reise ich teils auch mit Freunden und langsamer. Kürzlich war ich mit einer Bekannten eine Woche in Italien mit "nur" um die 8 Videos in einer Woche. Auf Rhodos letzten Oktober wurden gar nur 2 Videos in 6 Tagen... Da schaute ich mir die Orte auch mal ohne Camera an.
Die Mischung mit Urlaub ist etwas anders und erholsamer wird nun auch einen Teil des Jahres einnehmen. Mit ca 130 Videos pro Jahr werde ich sehen, wie lange das noch so viel Spaß macht. 2019 war also ein intensiver Start, 2020 viel Deutschland und 2021 etwas gemixter. Der Kanal ist recht klein aber stabil mit 400-500K Views im Monat. Ich will etwas mehr aus den Videos machen und nehme zusätzliche Daten und Perspektiven auf. Nur macht das Editieren bisher noch nicht so viel Spaß, dass ein weiterer Kanal kommt..

Can you do one for Cottbus or Neubrandenburg?
Cottbus and Frankfurt an der Oder are on the list. Neubrandenburg wasn't up until now. All these places are a bit off the route from Poznan or Wroclaw which I often visit. I'll see what works out later in summer. For now Madgeburg, Quedlinburg and Wernigerode are higher on the list of unfilmed places. Maybe Rostock as well, which I had to skip last June. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for watching!
A little sad how ya got the time to walk through the old part 3 times but never show the other half :/
My time was limited in Limburg as on the same day I also visited Weilburg, Wetzlar and Marburg - all from Wiesbaden. What places outside the old town of Limburg can you suggest? What should I not miss? Maybe I'll revisit next year with updated cameras and would like to make a different route

As a local I think the old parts of limburg are sure worth the focus but limburg is a big place that has a lot to offer, from the hospital on top of the hill, the graveyard below, the more modern living areas which spread out down towards the old school district 'n ending above the train station. For the people frequenting limburg one of the most used streets would be from the new market towards the governmental and credit institute buildings with galleria kaufhof at the end of the street 'n then there's the lower end with agency for work, fire station, old market area that's used as large parking lot most of the year but transforms into vivid area to hold festivals.
Maybe those ain't tourist hotspots, but to give a general view about the city this came short and made it look like the city only centers around the few streets that in fact make only maybe 25% of the actual town size x)
Also nice area for walks, either along the river or on the further end there's a large park like area with a decent siced children playground :)

Seit ihr schon zu faul über die Städte zu berichten? Das hört sich gemein an mit den Schritten .Weil ich Nassau an der Lahn von den 70z. Jahren kenne ich war dort im Heim ,Scheuern hieß der Ort oben auf dem Berg
Ich betreibe diesen Spazier-Kanal alleine als Hobby. An dem Tag fuhr ich übrigens von Wiesbaden nach Limburg und filmte danach auch noch Weilburg, Wetzlar und Marburg. Hier sind also eher Schnelldurchgänge von Städten zu sehen, die ich oft auch das erste Mal besuche. Ich versuche seit einige Zeit nützliche Untertitel zu gestalten. Bei vielen hundert Videos und 2 neuen pro Woche, kam ich bisher nicht dazu. Wird aber ... irgendwann Hier ist also mehr Masse, als Klasse zu sehen 😎
