Last week we sat down with Lonnie Bands for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our conversation he talked about coming to Atlanta and doing a new song with Young Nudy, life in Detroit, growing up on the Westside, jumping off the porch, recently getting shot a few times including one in his head, what he learned by going through that incident, explains how Bandgang got started, Bandgang’s influence on Detroit, speaks on PaidWill, the music changing Detroit, his upcoming project ‘Hard 2 Kill’, upcoming song with Big30, touring with Rob Vicious while he was on the run, upcoming EP w/ Eastside Eggroll, and much more!

I knew someone who took a headshot. Hung with him everyday but after that, he was a completely different person. Talking and walking slower. To see him still pushing making music is a miracle. He didn’t lose that part of his brain. Big ups to cuz.

Say for instance these young rappers already built themselves up to be “the hardest” street dude, if they show any sign of trying to turn down anything street related, they are afraid of their enemies making diss songs or embarrassing them on the internet.
Which brings up the pride issue all these new dudes have. Knowing all what they been thru and seen what happened with they potnas they pride too much to let anything go. They would rather die letting the world know they was a real “street dude” then to live to become a real man.
It’s just sad that all this youngsters really glorifyings all this killing of they oops which are most likely black men, instead half of them are being called a nigga by white people and don’t do anything .
