hey Mike, going through BRMB, the orange ATV trails...can we drive our 4wd vehicle on those in summer? Some of them are shared with snowmobile trails and some are not, so just for the ATV trails can we drive on them or no?
It really depends on the track. While some are mainly on crown land and intersect with road allowances, no maintenance roads and forestry roads those are generally fair use (unless otherwise mentioned in a by-law or mentioned on the policy report found in the crown land atlas) However, other tracks may cross private property and trespassing in the off season may hurt the relationship between the club and the property owners, resulting in loss of their access.
Great series Mike I have been using back roads map books the last couple years and they are great but when combined with the other information in this series it's awesome thanks.
I own a Kia Optima and all i do is explore the backroads but twice i have ended up on roads that were either badly washed out or turned into an ATV trail.. i know the mapbook wont tell you the current conditions of a road, but at least it can tell me the road im driving down for 30 minutes isn't going to turn into an ATV trail... I went on to the atv trail for about 10 km HOPING it would turn into a normal road again but i eventually reached a point where there was a stream of water flowing on the road and a massive rock, so i had to reverse for 2 km to turn around. Wishing now that i had of bought a truck instead of a family sedan.
Extremely useful to learn from someone experienced. Invaluable!

We plan on camping near Wasaga Beach this summer. Hope to be able to hit some trails while we're there
