Am not the sharpest tool in the box . I play the mandolin . Would I have to change anything if I wanted to play the mandola?
The mandolin is to the violin as the mandola is to the viola. The strings on a mandola are tuned CGDA, just like a viola, rather than GDAE. As a result, your mandolin fingerings would not translate directly to the mandola.
