I've always associated Miles Teller for Whiplash rather than Top Gun: Maverick. I remember watching Top Gun: Maverick and saying "oh hey, that's Andrew."
I don't think you understand how SNL monologues work. The host ALWAYS has one. The monologue is always written by the SNL writers unless the host is a stand up comedian/returning SNL writer who chooses to write their own (See John Mulaney, Louis CK, Dave Chappelle, Aziz Ansari) the host monologue regardless of lines or whether it's a bit with other cast members, is an integral part of the show and literally has happened for every SNL host and SNL show ever.
@@kengeorgejones6855 That's still the host monologue as written by the SNL writers as 99% of SNL host monologues are. If you think every SNL host that has a good solo monologue is freestyling out there, saying their own jokes and material, you are very much so mistaken.
This not only marks Kenan's 20th season but it also marks the 20th season they have used the Grand Central Terminal set. Because they both debuted in Season 29 in 2003. And I just realized that Cecily Strong wasn't in the intro so that probably makes it 9.
That home video is pure “having an Older Sister”. I know the lyrics to almost every Backstreet Boy song and I haven’t listened to them in almost 25 years.I blame one person.
I hadn't heard of Miles Teller until Top Gun;Maverick, which was a fantastic movie. He was perfectly cast as Goose's son! Very talented. I'll look for him in more movies and shows now. I've watched SNL since the first season, when I was a young teenager
I have loved Miles Teller since he was cast in the remake of Footloose. His character was SO good and he made that movie SO enjoyable for me. I have not seen, or even heard of Top Gun, Maverick, but I will definitely find it and watch it! He is adorable and did a fine job opening for SNL here! So talented, and quite good looking too🙂
Miles is gonna continue to be a legend, he has natural talent and learned skill and the energy required to be one of the greats- and not just in drumming ;)
After seeing that homemade video all I can say is, you made it bud. Such an amazing thing to see when people live up to their full potential. Kudos brother
I saw Miles Teller in something many many years ago. He had/has such an interesting look. I always wondered where he went? Then Top Gun, I am glad he is in the spotlight. And what a funny guy❤️
This episode had a lot of the same energy as last season’s premiere with Owen Wilson. He was energetic and fun, and they put focus on the new members, and that’s exactly what they did with this one.
Miles Teller is a very talented actor and wonderful first-time host the season premiere of SNL. Congrats Miles on the film Top Gun: Maverick and co-owner of The Finnish Long Drink. You're the man. ⭐⭐👏🏻👏🏻👏👏
Miles Teller was terrific in both Top Gun: Maverick & The Offer. More folks should check out the Offer, such a terrific show, sad that it got shut out at the Emmy Awards.
@@davisperron4260 Great film, especially if you play drums. However, JK Simmons's character was such an asshole that I can never bring myself to watch it ever, again.
@@billyllewis I report them most of the time I see them. It is pretty annoying. Wish they'd use their time to do something useful, productive, adding to humanity...
You MUST see the serial that Miles did for Paramount Plus called "The Offer." It's the true inside story of the making of The Godfather. Miles produces, & stars in it as producer Al Ruddy. He's fantastic, in a fantastic production!

"It's not everyday you get a movie that's loved by both the military community and the gay community" SO true
This guy is so underrated. He is so talented and I wish the best for him.
He’s got nowhere to go but up in this business.
I am so happy he is getting the recognition he deserves. He was remarkable in Whiplash.
No longer underrated
Cannot wait to see him win an Oscar
Agree. I still don't know, why Academy don't give him to nomination for his performance in "Whiplash".
I love when they show home videos of the hosts as kids . It humanizes them and makes being host seem like an attainable goal
“My piano instructor was JK Simmons” I’m so glad I understood that reference!😂

Miles is a fantastic actor. His dialogue delivery is always top notch.
Wait say it again I’m just kidding man the Fan4stic reference
That was one of the most wholesome monologues I've ever seen.
I'm glad they are still letting the hosts have their own monologues rather than being in the background. Miles did a great job here.
When did the hosts not have monologues?
@@Andy-bh8hw Many times the host just says a few lines then the rest turns over to guest stars or cast members.
