Hi! You could use three colors all held together if you want to, and the result would depend on the colors you choose. If you use three colors that are really different, like black, red, and white, or complementary colors, the lei colors would be distinct. If you use really similar colors it probably wouldn't work as well. Happy Lei Making!

If you use two skeins (totaling over 200 yards of yarn) it makes a beautiful long lei that feels sturdy. We recommend two skeins of yarn.

Hi! The lei is actually flat, but it likes to twist up (it's kind of hard to tell when it's worn.) It looks like a wider version of the one-straw-lei.
