Great episode about 2nd part of 1974 films. Lot of films in the list are good. Imtihaan was no doubt ahead of its time. Action genre was ruling the roost so it was behind but still it did good business and was semi hit. Surprised to see majboor way behind. It was the second mystery thriller by Amitabh Bachchan after Benaam. Both benaam and Majboor are brilliant thriller films. I agree that the emotionally family angle made it a much better film than the original hollywood film. I was expecting majboor to be a hit but surprisingly it did average business. We Can say from this list so far that Amitabh Bachchan though gained stardom with Zanjeer in 1973, he was still not quiet there yet à name to rackon with à superstar which he became in 1975 with Deewar and Sholay. Rajesh khanna was still à huge name and à superstar we can say. Jeetendra finally got à film in top 20 after 1971 if I am not mistaken. Vinod khanna was indeed à star this year with 3 films in top 20. And so was Dharmendra and Rajesh Khanna. I was surprised to see Ankur, Rajnigandha and 5 rifles in this list. In fact I never heard of Ankur film before this episode. Lekin aapki information zyada authentic hoti hai iskiye aap par trust karte hai hum. But 2 films that surprised me the most are Roti and Bidaai. I thought they were huge hits and was expecting them in top 10. Instead I was expecting Ajnabee, Aap ki Kasam in top 20. I wonder why most websites are messed up. But anyways, aapka research lajawaab hai Rakesh Bhai as always, yeh episode mazedaar laga. Now waiting for top 10. 👍👍❤❤

On a special note it was great to see the mention of an Amol Palekar and Basu Chatterjee's film for the first time in this channel. Basu Chatterjee was competing with Hrishikesh Mukherji at that time. There were also other directors with similar cinéma such as Basu Bhattacharya, Sai Parangpay, etc.
Great to know that Amol ji's first three films completed silver jubilee.

Every movie unique and interesting, every movie with amazing songs, every star also tremendous actors. Definitely the golden era of Hindi cinema. My favorite being Roti. Rajesh was in his prime.

@@rakeshsadeo ajnabi has a complicated plot. I liked the mystery part of the story with Yogeeta Bali but the romance story didn’t fit well. Something was missing. The songs were good but Roti had better songs. It’s a fun movie to watch. You were right about Pathar aur Payal. Great cast but shoddy direction. The list of movies are a great combination of art and masala cinema. Seems to me the audience were looking for quality cinema in all genres.

Roti and Bidaai had emotional story. Especially Bidaai about a lonely mother and her children. Leena Chandavarkar played a rôle with negative shades. Jeetendra did well. The child artist in Bidaai is none other than Satyajeet Puri à famous punjabi actor and son of D'altitude puri. Roti was mix of entertainment and émotions by Manmohan Desaj. Interestingly 2 films with similar thème but different story and similar titles released same year that focused on poverty i.e. Roti and Roti kapda aur makaan.
Personally I am not great fan of roti and even roti kapda aur Makan..

1982 se pahle Delhi durdarshan rangeen na hone ke Karan rangeen filmen bhi black and white hoti thi isliye sari filmen cinema hall per dekhne jata tha

majboor's backgound music was excellent.i still watch it in yt for songs and background score. perfectly composed by LP for a suspense thriller. dont know why you commented in reverse. i have discord with you.
It was different from routine LP BGM but it was not effective in every scene... anyways you liked it good 👍

Hindi filmon ka darshak apni favourite filmon ke bare mein hit aur superhit ,super duper hit Sunna chahta hai.
Aap to semi hit ki category mein 50% filmen rakhte hain aur aapki najron mein super duper hit to koi movie Hui hi nahin hai.
Aapki jankari bahut acchi hai lekin aap tarif karne mein aur Sahi information hit filmon ki Shayad nahin de pa rahe hain.
Mere khayal se aapki list bilkul sahi nahin hai.
