When talking about The Fall Guy, "this was different , a lot of movies are sequels or remakes", I don't think they know that it was based off of a TV show.
Hey this is great! I'll definitely check out more of this podcast! Episode Ideas for Movie Content: 1. Favorite Movie from each Genre 2. Most Skilled/Versatile Actors/Actresses 3. Movie Trivia Contest 4. Favorite Movie/TV Characters 5. Book adaptations you would love to see
Twisters and Juror #2 are probably my favourites but this year has been mainly filled with ‘OK’ movies. These include Dune 2, Deadpool & Wolverine, One Life, Speak No Evil, Fall Guy, latest Ghostbusters and others
Some of my favorites so far this year are: Dune Part 2, Sing Sing, Conclave, the Fall Guy, Civil War, Woman of the Hour, the Idea of You, Abigail, Babes -- so many. But we have two months left of the year. Still have to see Heretic, Queer, A Complete Unknown, Nosferatu, Smile 2, Blitz, Nickel Boys, Small Things Like These, and Anora.
Love hearing your thoughts and all the stories! Regarding Carly's movie-watching experience with the girls in college - if it was Jack Reacher, that was Tom Cruise, and, if it was Jack Ryan, that was probably Chris Pine at the time (though the role was previously played by Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin, and Ben Affleck). Both are based on book series, and both have since been turned into TV shows.
You've watched at least some of the Jack Ryan movies Cass, 'Patriot Games' & 'Clear and Present Danger' with Harrison Ford. Though that was like 2 years ago😉
Defying Gravity is Amazing. My eldest daughter showed me a TH-cam video of the song the other day. I think I would like to see Wicked to hear all the songs.
My top 10 so far 1 Inside Out 2 2 Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot 3 Deadpool and Wolverine 4 Hit Man 5 One Life 6 Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 7 Beekeeper 8 Woman of the Hour 9 Dune 2 10 The Long Game
My top 3 of 2024 are 3.) Argylle (Bryce Dallas Howard led Spy Rom-Com) 2.) The People's Joker (Got a wide release this year) 1.) I Saw The TV Glow ("Horror" film and if you've seen all 3 movies, you can guess the one thing they all have in common.) My bottom 3 of 2024 are 3.) Twisters (Sorry girls, wasn't my thing) 2.) Horizon Part 1 (Very Tonally confused. Should've been a miniseries. We'll see if the other 3 films ever release.) 1.) Godzilla X Kong The New Empire (The only movie I saw from this year that I'd call bad.)
If you guys have not seen "The Wild Robot" DEFINITELY try to catch it in the theater. I initially wasn't gonna watch it until I heard a reviewer liken it to "The Iron Giant" that I totally missed in the theater and now I Absolutely LOVE it. I bet Cassie will love "The Wild Robot" because it's really all about being a parent and bringing up a child so it's great for kids (Very funny at first) and Awesome for adults. Do Not Miss it. Cheers ladies ^_^
I loved "Fall Guy", "Inside Out 2", "IF" and "Deadpool and Wolverine". Those are my favourites so far this year. I'm also enjoying "Only Murders in the Building" and looking forward to "The Diplomat".
wow, didn't know Cass really liked Dune 2. hope you get around to reading the actual books. I promise you will love the movies 100x more after reading the entire saga. a fun reaction for both of you ladies: The Devil Wears Prada [2006] with Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt (if you have seen it already) great podcast! cheers 🍻
love keeping track of the movies the wife and I have seen...we love movies in theater (luxury loungers!) but watch them on streaming also...64 movies so far this year with more to come...one of the weaker years so far in recent memory..... we are also lucky enough to have a huge film festival in our area every year which is great for seeing things early or that may not be distributed for a while....top ten seen so far in 2024... Rustin The Holdovers Wicked Little Letters Young Woman & the Sea Inside Out 2 Thelma The Wild Robot My Old Ass Luther: Never Too Much-documentary about Luther Vandross Conclave worst-tie-Asteroid City & The Bikeriders. many yet to come before the end of the year. see ya at the movies.
Another good episode of the podcast, you’ve made a strong start. I’m sure you guys are going to be a hit. Good to hear your chat without a movie/tv show interrupting if you get my drift. As for 2024 movie, Deadpool & Wolverine was great but I’m so looking forward to Gladiator 2.
Luxury loungers as much as possible. Especially now that I’m in my 40’s, regular seats hurt. I see 30+ movies in the theater a year. Comfort every time.
Evening Ladies, right now I have seen 20 movies in theaters up untill today's screening of Blitz with Saoirse Ronan (Steve McQueen Director (Hunger 2008, Shame 2011, 12 years a slave 2013) with Wicked and Gladiator II (same day screening) still to come, a few things in December. I tend to go to theaters only as there's no distractions for me as there would be here at home. If I had to top 5 out of everything that I have seen this year here's how it would go. #1 Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, #2 The Zone of Interest, #3 Deadpool/Wolverine, #4 Dune Part II, and #5 The Substance. The Substance is the only film that I watched here at home but would have had a much different take away from it if I was to have seen it in theater with a big group. The Substance was the Midnight Madness people's choice winner from this years Toronto International Film Festival, seeing it by myself is a much different experience compared to seeing it with 1200 people in the Royal Alexandra Theater, people are encouraged to let their feelings known and it's more of a party atmosphere that enhances the overall result.
Well, Jack Ryan is Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, Chris Pine, and John Krasinski, and I don't know the year this happened, but I would bet on the one Carly was talking about being either Pine or Krasinski.
If I was younger I would probably pick Imax, and I did enjoy Imax a lot when I was younger. Avatar and Interstellar in Imax were honestly amazing. But now it is too loud for me haha, rough on my nervous system
Loved Lee Majors in Fall Guy. Big Valley "Heath Barkley" TV Series. The Bionic Man. My late husband's favorite Christmas Movie that Lee Major's is in is "Scrooged."
13 favorites cuz thirteen is my favorite number 1. Viggo Mortensen’s Dead Don’t Hurt 2. Inside Out 2 3. The Outrun starring Saoirse Ronan (🏴) 4. Maria 5. The First Omen 6. Vermiglio (🇮🇹) 7. Didi 8. @@trhansen3244Cool. I loved it personally. I also tend to watch more of a diverse range stuff and that includes art house, indies, international cinema etc
My top 10 so far 1. Dune 2 2. The fall guy 3. Inside out 2 4. Deadpool & wolverine 5. Strange darling 6. Alien Romulus 7. Parachute (rom com) 8. Wild robot 9. Quiet place day one 10. Boy kills world
Any movie with Zendaya in it is hard to enjoy. If the existence of the universe depended on her ability to deliver even a decent performance the entire universe would cease to exist in a microsecond.
Since you like Rebecca Ferguson so much, will you be giving the Silo series a watch? Great show & shes superb i ln it. Season 2 will be showing in a few weeks. Same question for Severance
The best 2024 movie so far that I've watched was Late Night with the Devil, great were also Civil War, A Quiet Place: Day One, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and IF. The worst so far were Beverly Hills Cop 4, Jackpot and Madame Web.
Yeah they made Ariana's blonde hair and skin tone basically the same so it comes off weird. Like Cassie is a fair skinned blonde but there's a difference between her hair and skin.
The least rewatchable movie for me is The Mosquito Coast with Harrison Ford. It was a fantastic movie, but I just cannot see a movie where Harrison Ford isn't a likable guy. His portrayal of the father in this movie was so good, and so scarring to me that I vowed never to watch it again.
If you girls want to get more film literate and to understand the behind the scenes stuff more, i recommend the channel "every frame a painting". Its a quality film essay channel that gives you great information in short easily digestable videos.
Have the two of you seen The Wizard of Oz? If not, a reaction for the channel might be in order. An absolute classic, and it would set you up quite nicely to go into Wicked
My favorite sister movie reactors on You Tube. Appreciate you both.
More content from my two Favorite people on the internet...yeah!~!!!!!!!!!

Javier Barden will star as Anton Stilgar in the new mashup "No Country For Old Fremen".
Twisters and Juror #2 are probably my favourites but this year has been mainly filled with ‘OK’ movies.

You say Iron Giant and I'm adding it to my watchlist
You two are going to be amazing on podcast. Great start!
I’m totally with ya on the luxury loungers! Dune 2 just so happens to be the only movie in YEARS I’ve made the sacrifice

I personally don't like those luxury lounge chairs. I would have the IMAX with regular chairs.
A Quiet Place Day One is soooo good.
Apologies Carly, but the movie I'm least excited to see is Wicked & the movie I'm most excited to see is Eggers, Nosferatu...
Favorite: Dune: Part 2
Least favorite: Madame Web
Was the podcast Carly's idea? She seems to be taking more of a lead on these, especially on the first 2 episodes.
If I was younger I would probably pick Imax, and I did enjoy Imax a lot when I was younger. Avatar and Interstellar in Imax were honestly amazing. But now it is too loud for me haha, rough on my nervous system
Sorry got to interrupt but, there was a tv show in the 80's called The Fall Guy staring Lee Majors. Yes it was about stuntmen in Hollywood.
Loved Lee Majors in Fall Guy. Big Valley "Heath Barkley" TV Series. The Bionic Man. My late husband's favorite Christmas Movie that Lee Major's is in is "Scrooged."
Carly is all about the happy endings, my kinda woman. ❤
I just enjoyed a Netflix movie Family Pack a French time travel/Jumanji movie.
Cassie and Carly Fall Guy is a remake. It was a series in the early 80s with Lee Majors

I believe "The Substance" will be the movie of 2024 that will stick with me for a while.
I can’t believe Carly walked out of Challengers 😅
Not a fan either . L
Hard to believe. Zendaya is such a compelling thespian, too.

Sorry to hear Carly didn’t like Challengers. I loved it. But I understand how it wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

Yeah they made Ariana's blonde hair and skin tone basically the same so it comes off weird.
Like Cassie is a fair skinned blonde but there's a difference between her hair and skin.

You didn't answer the questions from the first podcast. Hope they are in 3 or 4 as those are already out.
The Intern with Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro
