I'd love to see Shawn do an overview of the different types of mice/rats he has caught, along with a few fun facts for each, whether they are native or not, how often he catches them and sees them on the trail cams, etc etc.

04:58 Was there something tunneling under the seeds? Watch while his hand moves, you can see a mound moving along with his hand.
Looks like the plastic is very thin and was flexing as he pressed it with his finger, which moved the seeds around as it flexed.

I had a glass cutting set when I was a kid. You could cut bottles with it.
Wild Irish Rose was a cheap wine sold in glass jugs. Might be a solution available down a similar avenue.

I want to see that motion-sensor rolling log trap. I've always been a big fan of the rolling log and similar designs.

Maybe this exact style of trap but with a bucket would make it just a bit more difficult for those pesky rats to escape
I have had trouble with the old style snap trap. The mice would clean off the bait (chocolate melted to the trigger) without tripping the trap. 🐀 until I started using a steel coffee can. A large 34 oz. can works best. Place the baited, set trap inside of the can, place the can on its side, open end towards the wall along the mouse trail. The can rocks side to side making it difficult for the mice to keep balance. Works good!

As soon as you said you made the trap of plastic, I said “Can’t the mice chew their way out?”
If there were some kind of spikes that came together at end of cup that would let them push open to get in and not let them out you could probably catch a rat as well. Great videos always new stuff for catching pests!

I thought Shawn could just make a 3000-degree glass furnace and make his own dome. Some outdoorsmen he is! Jeez.
The field mice that invade my home every winter are damn smart. I have 3 live traps that my friends boss gave me that they use in their workshop. I'm guessing I've got about 10 mice in my house an I've only been able to catch 1 in the 3 months that I put the traps out. It's like these mice are little Einstein's an they know what traps are and they avoid them.
I want to see them all but the cannon for sure. That’s a very interesting one for sure.
