@@naikjoy It’s more common. The S16 was the first 206 GTI. Only for the german market it was labeled S16, because of the VW Golf GTI they couldn’t name it GTI. In France it’s known as 206 GTI, and the RC is known as RC or GTI 180. I guess the regular S16 wasn‘t sporty enough for a proper hot hatch so they also later offered the RC with the tuned engine with more horsepower. The 136hp engine was also offered in their 206cc convertible, without any GTI labeling. So more of a common engine. The 206cc is a bit heavier because of the hardtop. I own a 206CC with the 136hp engine and the performance is good for only 136 hp, the car weighs just 1200 kg. Regular 206 is ~1150 kg.
@@user-fxw6k7da4mhhh, allows me to "correct". In france, the s16 is called s16 because the assurances company of that time refused to assure the insurance with the name GTI. Because it sounds too sporty. Understand, there is more riske of accidents. So peugeot choosed the appellation S16 instead of GTI. In Switzerland for example, the S16 is called GTI. I can't guarantee that this is true. But the common story here in france is told like that.

what are the differences between the two?
S16 has 136 hp and RC has 177 hp. RC is more sporty overall. Same engine, both are 2.0l N/A
@@user-fxw6k7da4 Thank you. The S16 was more common correct?
