    Hello and thank you very much for the information in the video. Would it be correct to say that, in probit analyses, it is not correct to use mortality percentages of 0% and 100% due to the transformation to percentages to probit (Finney´s Table)? regards

      % Death = [(no. of dead nauplii) / (no. of dead nauplii + no. of active nauplii)] x 100
      After getting the percent death, you should use this . . .
      Corrected Formulas for Mortality:
      0% dead = 100(0.25/n)
      100% dead = 100(n-0.25/n)
      /Sorry tho, I forgot my reference for this :(( it's been a year already and I can't find the copy of my research paper here in my phone. Anywayz, hope you'd do well! :>/

      Hey there, for 0% use the formula 100(0.25/n) and for 100% use the formula 100[ (n-0.25)/n] Reference: Miller and Tainter Method of Probit analysis

      sorry, for this very late reply... I just opened this video today.... it doesn't matter what letter is used - the constant (without the x) is the "Intercept" in the Regression output., and the other number is the coefficient of x, (x is the independent variable)

    Hi there. Thanks for the video. Did you have more than one replicate per concentration in this scenario? Did you pool the number of dead organisms , so thats why you have only one collumn for "% dead"? Thank you in advance for your reply.

      Good question. As far as I am concerned you would use the average mortality (I do triplicates).

    I know this question could sound stupid, but why there at the end of my experiments I have all my samples dead, so why there is no 100%?

      Hello Emre, you need to identify the correction values using these formulas:
      For 0%: 100(0.25/n)
      For 100%: 100[(n-0.25)/n]

      0% dead= 100(0.25/n)
      100% dead= 100(n-0.25/n)
      These formulas are to find the corrected values of 0 and 100 mortality rate.
