Yup. The word "Tech jobs" encompasses many different roles within tech. Software engineering/ Networking/ SysAdmin / DevOps / POs / Marketing the list goes on ... Plus, Americans seem to be very sillicon valley centric. There are thousands of mid sized companies across north america that need talent. It may not pay the 350K they were promised at uni but it does provide a stable career with great challenges and a lower cost of living. Like you said, take everything with a grain of salt.
There will be differences and exceptions, the Birds Eye view however can not be denied, especially with AI playing a bigger role every year. To some extent I just consider myself lucky to work with a technology that is in high demand and will continue to be.

for example openai is part of that market. does it relate to me? i'll never send my cv to openai, since i dont have big enough accomplishments to have a chance for that place
