Appreciate the mention Chris. I hope non-rider comes back permanently. It gives people more options to visit more affordably as families with people in the group who don’t ride. @coaster_dad As you know, I used to work at BPB in the 80s, 90s, and 00s until 20002. A lot has changed with the park since then. I haven't been back in 22 years. It used to be packed all the time, 7 or 8 million visitors a year. It could take 20 minutes to get from the North to the South. All I see now is a few people but mainly empty space. The park did very well for over 100 years with free entry. Amanda has killed it. It cannot survive as it is. The surrounding businesses have suffered to. I drove up the primary on Saturday and Sunday. It was busy in town but there was hardly anyone around the Pleasure beach
The pass is OK if you visit regularly throughout the season, but if you only visit Blackpool once a year, then it's more expensive. Still needs to allow general admission.
Doesn't make sence not to do a daily ticket to and just do a wristband thing. You can do differnt levels of those works pretty ok in a lot of parks in the states,
Not really sure how much sense it makes due to the location/unique selling point of the Pleasure Beach when I was a child. Visit Blackpool with the family, go around with them doing things for the group, and maybe to go to the Pleasure Beach for a couple of rides at the end of the day. Wouldn't get the whole family to go the park for the whole day. I understand they've put on the park entry tickets to solve other issues, but I can't see visitor numbers returning while this is in place with the park as it currently is.
I hear you. But this is at least a step in the right direction. They’re doing a lot around the park and documents have been spotted for new rides etc. so it may take a little while but hopefully things are on the up again 🤞
agreed, but barely anyone spends anymore than a weekend in blackpool MAX nowadays. No one goes for a week anymore like the 80/90's. its populated by day trippers basically, if your there for more than a day you will see it die off after 6pm cause all the day trippers are away back home. So not only does the town, and therfore BPB not only has less people coming by default, but there also not staying as long, hence why it can never go back to the way it was, as the town in general is nowhere near the same. i go down 4 times a year, 2 day trips and 2 weekends (3 days), on a day trip im not coming for coral island or blackpool tower, its simply BPB all day then home. Id imagine most are the same.
hi the river caves ride all there have to do is reline the the troff with cemaet as it is how it is from when the ride first built or rip it down like the mouse

I agree, Amanda and BPB don’t need to publicise every step, but looking at how well Thorpe Park and AT engage with enthusiasts & TH-camrs etc, there’s a definite benefit to having that connection. It reduces rumours, increases engagement and helps create hype. Actively not doing so almost feels like contempt towards the people who are your best customers and publicists. I, as do many have a soft spot for PB and want to see it at its best.
They should have it where you can get a non rider for £5-10 if you have another fee paying child or adult with them. They used to have an issue with undesirable persons at Sandcastle using the non swimmers pass at Sandcastle
So technically you can pay this pass and just gain access to the park and you still get perks like a full season pass anyway cause its technically 50 on a price pay on door anyway cheers for update dude
They have QR machines, just have them tie your bank account and charge per ride. Then just set the entry fee to £10 for non riders and problem solved. You have a system for non riders to go on a ride if they want to, but also a system for them to be in the park. Then you can just have a flat charge for the people that will want to go in everything but not pay a premium a per ride charge will cost.
£50 for a whole season for non riders isn't pretty bad but will that work or will it just remain the same it needs to be free entry imo if you ain't riding the rides then what's the problem least the park will be rammed and people have to eat and drink
I think the main reason that free entry will never return is that there’s a lot of trouble in the surrounding area and they’re trying to keep that out of the park. Back when it was free entry they had a ton of security policing the place and kicking people out.

You can ask for a paper one at the ticket office. And if non rider is coming back then at least the scanners will have a purpose even if they are a pain in the ass.
Ffs ... who the fuck wants a non rider season pass ? ....just make it one price to ride and one for grannies and grandads etc who won't be riding...day price say £5....its like paying £50 to not go to a football ground on match days.... ridiculous
I hear you. And I don’t think the season pass option will be overly popular but I do think this means the day ticket option will also be available probably at the £10 mark. But we’ll find out next year 🤞

so how do they ensure non riders dont ride ? - surley very easy to get around ? or are we talking full AI facial recogition at the ride queue entrance and a trap door
All the rides have scanners where you have to scan a valid ticket. Right now it’s pointless because everyone can ride. I expect it to be more strict from next year
Great video as always 😁👍 Having just visited the amusement park at Southport last night, it was great to see the Gyro Swing type ride first hand, that's hopefully coming to BPB in the near future. Also, BPB should take note of the "Booster" ride at Southport, what an awesome experience that was last night. Brings me back to the memories of the 'pair' of white booster type rides BPB had along the old wooden walkway (now taken up by the site of ICON). On a last note, let me share with you the fantastic firework extravaganza from last night, ENJOY! 😊 th-cam.com/video/jFSWCCXitf0/w-d-xo.html
If they do get the gyro, hopefully it’s the larger version that doesn’t exist in the UK. Which I’m sure they’ll use as marketing for being the largest 😉
The static ones were hit and miss. Sometimes totally fine, sometimes not (better with paper tickets than phone screens) but the new hand held ones seem to work very well.
Nah that’s never gonna happen. Too many undesirables in the area they need to keep out. To be fair if you can visit multiple times £50 is pretty good. But I’m hoping for a day ticket
What's with the offset side shot filming? I'm no expert in doing videos or maybe you're following a trend or something but I think you should stick to talking straight at the camera it's more engaging with the audience plus I think the side stuff looks weird (IMO). 🙂
£50 to just walk about ! No thanks 😮 £10 is more realistic ! Also getting rid of the wristbands was a mistake you have to continually look for your ticket or Fanny about with your phone to find the barcode that is a pain The park owners are continually making stupid mistakes changing things that don’t need changed . And spending fortunes on stupid “ statue art “ and water features
I really dislike Amanda Thompson i understand theme park fans can be a bit petty and pedantic but ultimately they are the people who visit more than anyone else and often vaild criticism like rides been taken away and nothing replacing them is hand waived away
What was wrong with the £5 entry for non-riders? Most folk go once a year at best.
Yeah I’m assuming this means there will be an on-the-day option too. Although I suspect it’ll be about a tenner. But we’ll find out next year
Running costs of the benches.
Back when it was a £5 you still got a go on the blackpool express should get at least a go on that or derby racer for your walk round pass

I've been going to pb for 50 years, and I don't think they could go back to letting people just walk on because you get a lot of scallys on, and they don't want thst
Aye. But hopefully a cheap non rider will make a big difference to a lot of people 😊
Pass only on sale a few days
Then will do a day pass
PlayStation prob going to be a star flyer like one opp tower not a difficult conversion
What they doing with the dome
Mmm not sure about a conversion to a star flyer 🤔 as far as I know the dome is just used for storage these days 🤷♂️
@coaster_dad the dive show is back
This is Amanda Thompson saying 'Well i have offered the people the non rider pass if they dont buy it dont complain, dont mention non rider pass again , end of story '
She wont introduce on the day non rider pass in 2025 or any other season.
I guess we’ll soon find out 🙂
The scanners are awful, having to get tickets/phones out before you get on is a right pain. Just give us wristbands.
But we’ll find out next year 🤞
@@coaster_dad exactly.....whilst granny may not ride she will have a brew or sandwich or pay for the grandkids a balloon or t shirt etc
@@sitcorocket I agree with you , i wonder who actually came up with the £50 non rider pass nonsense, what will be next £20 for pizza crust leftovers buffet with unlimited tap water ?
Who's visiting BPB ‘four or five times a year?’
This guy 🙋♂️😂
BPB is dying and will never be revived. Such a shame
I think there’s still time. It’s not over… yet
so how do they ensure non riders dont ride ? - surley very easy to get around ? or are we talking full AI facial recogition at the ride queue entrance and a trap door
All the rides have scanners where you have to scan a valid ticket. Right now it’s pointless because everyone can ride. I expect it to be more strict from next year
Great video as always 😁👍
Having just visited the amusement park at Southport last night, it was great to see the Gyro Swing type ride first hand, that's hopefully coming to BPB in the near future.

If they do get the gyro, hopefully it’s the larger version that doesn’t exist in the UK. Which I’m sure they’ll use as marketing for being the largest 😉
What a nice gesture giving your revenue to cash for kids what a fantastic person respect 👌
More than happy to help those less fortunate 🙂
Needs a per day price, the season pass is stupid if it's only that.
They definitely do need that, there's definitely an audience for the season pass. But there's a bigger audience for day tickets
Anyone remember when you could just go into the park for free ?
Yup. Can’t see that happening nowadays. Too much trouble in the area that they want to keep out
I went to pleasure beach resort last weekend and had no issues with the scanners
The static ones were hit and miss. Sometimes totally fine, sometimes not (better with paper tickets than phone screens) but the new hand held ones seem to work very well.
They missed the mark completely with this. £10 to let my gran walk and sit in the park and watch her grand children is all we wanted 😢😢😢
I still think that’ll happen. We don’t have day ticket prices for next year yet. 🤞
Pity you cant look for a leak when the park is closed all night every night............
😂 I’m gonna assume they know exactly where it is but repairing it in a few hours each night is the challenge.
£50, having a laugh surely, it should be free.
Nah that’s never gonna happen. Too many undesirables in the area they need to keep out. To be fair if you can visit multiple times £50 is pretty good. But I’m hoping for a day ticket
At the very least the kids area should have non rider passes. I only go in to watch mine in the nickelodeon area.
Fair
What's with the offset side shot filming? I'm no expert in doing videos or maybe you're following a trend or something but I think you should stick to talking straight at the camera it's more engaging with the audience plus I think the side stuff looks weird (IMO). 🙂
Playing with a new camera. More testing the difference in quality on this one 😊
Absolutely ridiculous what is Amanda doing would make more sense offering day tickets at a reasonable price between 5-10 would be more acceptable
I’m hoping the day price will be a tenner. This is £50 for the whole year
Looks like Blackpool is stripping the British branding, shame
I am curious to see if they do or if they are just scrapping the tattered flag 😉
Does it need to be there though? I know what country I'm in.
£50 to just walk about ! No thanks 😮
£10 is more realistic !
Also getting rid of the wristbands was a mistake you have to continually look for your ticket or Fanny about with your phone to find the barcode that is a pain
The park owners are continually making stupid mistakes changing things that don’t need changed . And spending fortunes on stupid “ statue art “ and water features
That’s £50 for the whole year. I suspect we will get day tickets around the £10 mark they’ve just not announce them yet 🙂
Yes I understand but most people only go once a year mate , if that.
@cannonfodder6654 true. Let’s hope a day ticket happens for those spontaneous visits 🤞
I really dislike Amanda Thompson i understand theme park fans can be a bit petty and pedantic but ultimately they are the people who visit more than anyone else and often vaild criticism like rides been taken away and nothing replacing them is hand waived away
