If you watch the Idol music video, there is also a lot of African culture mixed in. It's a wonderful mashup of African, Spanish, and Korean cultures (as well as some others). Black cap + open shirt = RM, black cap + white shirt = Jin, white cap = V, bucket hat + shorts = Suga, bucket hat + khakis = Jungkook, white sweatpants = J-Hope, torn skinny jeans = Jimin.
It is just that particular dance. The chaos theu made is due to the fact the haters throw at them so theu exaggerated everything. The symbols and many of their dances too reference too from the Korean culture, from the traditional dances (including that dancing tiger) iconic hanbok clothing, and superstitions and language.
The great thing I love about BTS's music and choreography, is that they incorporate influences from all kinds of genres and cultures around the world. 😊
You're right suga used to bboy before he injured his shoulder before his debut so he cant do it anymore but he used to!! And they actually had some african beats, as well as dance moves and fabrics in their clothes incorporated into this song and music video!

Suga was promised he wouldn't have to dance when he originally joined (they were supposed to be a Rap/HipHop group only at first....)....LOL.... that changed but he is actually a lot better dancer than people give him credit for..... he goofs around a lot when "trying" to dance but every once in a while he shows he can really dance and then tries to play it off. LOL. Yes, a lot of African culture in this one.... have you seen the video??? There is a mixture including a lot of Korean culture too. If you want to really see amazing culture and dancing, you should check out the LIVE performance of IDOL at MMA 2018 - an award show where they were encouraged to "tell their story" so they injected this with even more Korean and it is absolutely amazing. The whole set was about 20 minutes with 3 songs but IDOL was the 3rd of the set. In this dance practice, RM was wearing the dark pants, white t-shirt with over shirt and ball cap..... Jimin, Suga, and J-Hope have all worn bucket hats a lot.... but Jungkook is the one you were focusing on in this one.... I love the round-swinging kick nearer the end... Jimin blows my mind with how his body moves. I can only dream of my body being able to do any of this. LOL. Thanks for watching!

Anyways its okay to be confused. When 7 people are dancing together it takes a bit of time to know who is who. And it takes them around 20-40 days to master a dance routine.
