Yeah, I feel you. Went to the Brisbane Caravan show to also "have a look". 125K later we are having a new Crusader Camelot with all terrain pack built.... I dont know whether to be sad or exstatic....

Am I right in thinking you only have approx 500 kg load carrying (2484 kg tare - 3000 kg all up ) . with full water (approx 300 kg and gas 20 kg , wood 50 kg that only leaves just over 100 kg for all your tools extra fuel clothing and food , might pay to get weighed just to check if you are legal and covered by insurance , not having a go , just a bit concerned for you re weights , cheers.

We were about 100kg over and got rid of the generator. We have stopped in the territory for a few months to work and have purchased a new car that has better weights 🙌 so we should be looking great soon 😉 thanks

Love your van. Congratulations! You didn’t mention the microwave. Do you use it or waste of space being so high? We’re looking at maybe getting aGreat Aussie ourselves and I wouldn’t be able to use the microwave that high so might be better with just a cupboard there and changing the oven for a combination oven/ microwave. Thoughts power wise? We’re looking at what you have in 19’6 no bunks.Happy travels. 👍

We love the microwave use it a lot. If we had our time again we would go a convection microwave instead of the oven and grill.
With power we don’t have any dramas running all the appliances, just try not to run too many at a time. But more solar on the roof is the next upgrade.

Looks like a fantastic caravan you have there. I’ve never heard of the brand before so I might look them up for next time (bought a caravan about 12mths ago). I’m keen to see if you end up getting any dust ingress in the future.
I’m just a hack but from my ongoing research into full offgrid caravan systems, you need roughly twice that of your battery storage capacity in solar panels (fixed and/or portable) but it sounds like you’re already onto that.
It’s great having a massive power storage system but you’ve gotta be able to pump that back in especially when there are also a few limitations to solar (panel efficiency, poor weather, shading, optimum positioning angle etc.).
      Just my thoughts … 🤘

@@rich9903 yes it’s a great van and glad we met someone on the road that told us about them, just in time for a caravan show to have a look at. We do have just about double the solar and are looking into putting 2 more panels on the roof along the front to help with it.
And for dust. The only place we have had an issue with is around the main door. And it was only minor. We have done the Oodnadatta track and mereenie loop road. Only having a scupper vent is more than enough so we have more room for solar ✌️
