Why go through all this trouble of kidnapping her when they could've paid her off with a massive cheque to keep her away from Daniel and to keep quiet about the pregnancy?
Yeah but would Daniel not want to be in his kids life, a lot woman don't like baby mama drama.

@@mevan883 Well he chose to take custody of that child, as it was his. But if his fiance's mother was adamant about keeping her daughter's relationship with him and their upcoming marriage intact, do you not think she'd want him not knowing about his ex-girlfriend being pregnant by paying her off?

The fiancé mother paranoia costed a woman’s life, her daughters fiancé leaving her and herself going to prison. Heartbreaking for everyone
Ironic that her own paranoia and trauma caused to her daughter the very thing she sought to avert, and killed a woman in the process.
And a child going to grow up without a mother

If Melinda hadn’t tried to cover for her mother, Daniel might have taken her back. But because she was willing to cover murder, she ruined their relationship.

the mother experienced trauma of her divorce, and she projected her own fears into this kidnapping as if reliving through the daughter.
And THAT is Rose was a Paranoid delusional Twisted Psychopath and also, a Monster. TO HELL WITH HER.
I just hope that baby will be ok, and probably the bio dad adopts the baby because it’s innocent of all that drama. And that mom goes to jail
bio dad raises the baby. Since it's his to begin with there is no adoption

I always found it to be a bittersweet ending. At least Daniel has his baby, who survived thanks to Anika holding on long enough (she also knew she'd die if she pushed back there, but the baby would have definitely died if she held off and he survival would have been unsure. She held off until help for the baby arrived, that's how I see it). And while a horrifying experience for Daniel as well, he has their baby and will always have a piece of Anika with him.
I dunno, all of that has always made it feel bittersweet to me, instead of just sad.
